Yes @Andy MacLeod you are in the right place, just placing some brews out to see if I can catch any mafia that are looking to either get smashed or maybe make a dollar selling these lovely brewskies! My logic could be flawed but I'm new at catching scum/wolves/mafia etc.

This is a post I like less every time I see it. The fact he repeats it perks my ears up. Right now it is back burner thought, but I can see this as Zander trying  cover Cairos with his town leader shtick. The fact I am suspicious of Cairos makes me wonder why Z is so sure he is town.

Could be innocent, and more people than there are wolves have been casting suspicion on Turin, but without a lot to go on this is the most suspicious. 

 

That and Mills voting for me, though I'll wait to see if he persists before taking offence and deciding there is an ulterior motive. 

 

Question: what does lock clear actually mean? That you are definitely town?

This is a weird vote. Not because it's on me, but there is mostly joking with other people and then the vote with little to back it up. I originally thought it was Donchadh as he had posted just before.  

Just stopping by to read up, but I see Z hasn't been around yet. Honestly pooped after a day of looking after my kids, so I think I might reward myself with early bedtime and reading in bed. I'll try to post some from work tomorrow, but it depends on how busy it is. I got a "new job" at the new year. I'm interrim assistant principal at a middle school, so my days are busy busy 🙂 I say interrim, because I'm just replacing somebody on long term sick leave, so we'll see how long it lasts. 

Meh. Donchadh, Gudrean and Sooh have been very quiet and not accused. So if they were wolves they would not need to do anything. 

 

Turin, Dice, Zander and me, I guess, have vocal in being detecting townies, hut could be running interference on purpose. Zander perhaps more throwing memes about than detecting. 

 

Andy, Cairos and Mills have been quietish and encouraging some suspicions, with little backing. Well maybe Mills does but he is wrong about me.

Lock clear generally doesn't happen until after at least one end of day phase.

LOCK CLEAR is a term used for someone you think is definitely town. Sooh is right that it is uncommon to be categorised as such before End of D1/N1 once some flips have happened. 

 

I looked at that Zander post and thought it would be hilariously on point for Z to be the wolf with 2 less experienced player and he is trolling us projecting on me. If that's the case his team is likely Cairos and Andy.

That is kinda the way I am thinking as well. (Zander, Andy, Cairos) though it is a pretty vague suspicion and they are not necessarily all guilty if one is. 

 

BUT it would also be pretty hilarious if Zander was right and you were Mafia and controlling the chat.

Yup, first time and, off the record, I'll play this once 'cause you are all nice, but I hate games where you have to throw dirt at others. Frankly, there's enough of that going on in the world. End parenthesis. 

 

For me, it was the stuff Turin said that could be true either way ("we can't protect you at night", speaking to the cop/sheriff, is true whether if he's Town or Mafia). It felt like a clever use of word that must be hiding something (like Moiraine tells Verin, when Verin comes to help Rand escape because Verin was at best playing with truth in what she told Leanne).

 

I'm kind of taking the same approach as when rooting out the Black Ajah: find lies or inconsistencies... In the same post, Turin used "we" to suggest he was Town and it seemed a sign of strategy. 

 

Since then, overall, he's been pretty good at shaping the conversation... Good player or Mafia? 🧐

Andy, you are right that pretty much anything can be used to manipulate. My intention was to try to teach some things I've learned in my experience with the game. My saying I'm town and speaking using town perspective is pretty much universal and I would in fact do it when mafia. Which is why I say look at not only the words but the actions and look for consistency.  

Day 1 is the hardest day because there are no flips which are usually helpful in finding mafia. 

 

I can see how you might feel that we are throwing dirt at people. I think it is we are all play acting and might be casting aspersions at each other's characters in game. There are no real hard feelings between players. It is all a game about trying to get people to agree with you. 

 

If you elect to not play in future games obviously that's your choice. Noone thinks any less of you for that. This game isn't for everyone. Some people have difficulty with the aggression of certain players. Some just don't like having to lie as mafia. Some don't have the time to devote to games which in cases have been hundreds of pages of big posts.  It's all good. 

 

Ima fair player IMO.  I am town but I would say all this as mafia so...trust your gut, I guess.
