What exactly is the process for having one’s “ears boxed?”

I think it's hitting a person's ears. A good, solid smack on each side of the head right at the ear. Not entirely sure, though.

It is clapping your hands over a persons ears, painfully hard.

 

The process is dangerous though, as you are forcing a large amount of pressure into the person's ears, and the only place for the pressure to go is into the person's ear drums. If you do it hard enough, you can rupture the ear drum.
