HUUURK

The splatter of bile and beef was nearly followed by Aran as he barely caught himself on a wall.  His hands barely able to hold onto the stonework as he only barely saw the gutter below him, another wave of sickness followed as his stomach rejected his latest attempt to self medicate.  No self pity was to be found in him, only a regret that he was going to have to find more drink to replace what he was now in the process of losing.

Another retch and most of it was gone, leaving his legs shaking slightly from the strain.  Not that he was done by any means, no, not quite as his entire body attempted to squeeze what was left out of him.  Somehow, in the dark and with what limited vision he possessed, Aran became very certain that some of what had been in his stomach was now on his boots.

Wetness.

That was why, and if Aran had been more sober he would have been revolted.  As it was, he couldn't smell a thing and wouldn't have cared if he had.  Shoving off the wall, he only made it about a dozen steps before he veered into the wall once more and tripped over.  Trying to catch the wall with one hand, the other arm was thrown infront of him and it was the only thing that saved him from a particularly nasty faceplant into the cobblestones.

Breathing heavily as he simply lay there for a few moments, it took a good degree of effort to retain consciousness.  He couldn't go to sleep there, he needed to get to the next bar if he was going to replace what he lost just a dozen steps back.  He just needed to get up, sit up, from there he'd be able to stand and he could go.

Sitting up took a good deal more effort than it should have, but Aran managed to claw his way up using the wall and by using his legs to swivel about.  His back resting on stone as he inched his way up until his torso was almost vertical, Aran barely managed to focus on the night sky.  A sky full of stars, a brief distraction from the moment.  How easier it would be to be up there rather than down here.

Frowning as the stars suddenly disappeared, Aran tried to get up only to encounter something solid.

A leg.

Darkness...
