Hi everyone!

My name is Frida and I'm from Norway. I'm really new at these kinds of websites, so I might need some help later  :) I got the first WoT book this christmas and got completely hooked! I have been ill for a long time now, and I have to tell you; being ill is booring!! But this series have saved me from being bored to death ;) I am 18 yr old and... Don't know what more to say :P

Most people around here are pretty friendly and will help you find your way, so don't be afraid to ask questions. :) Try visiting the Orgs and see where you fit in best and just have fun!

Hey Phish! You know, you have the same name as I do. It was kind of weird seeing the name 'Frida' like that, it's not exactly a common name around DM.  :P

 

We have a few Norwegians at the site. I'm from Sweden, myself, so hi neighbour!

 

What are you looking to do here at DM? Discuss the books, or roleplay, or just hang out in the Orgs? Whatever you decide to do I hope you'll have fun, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Actually now that I think of it I do have a couple of questions! How can youjoin an org.? When I press the org. button (don't even know where I found it) there was only some modification thing or something comming up.. And also, is it possible do upload a picture of me (or something else) from my computer or do I have to take it from some other site/window/internet-thingy?

go to the org you want to join, mmost have a sign up tread on their forum, or a newbie info tread or something, if wasnt so lazy (sorry bout that), i'd collect em in links for you ;)

 

the org headline you see is just the headline saying here starts the forums for org's, clicking it will just hide or unhide the org boards *s*, same as for all chategories on the comunity, its so you can fold away the sections you dont need so dont have to scroll so much

You cannot upload Avatar's, you will have to host them somewhere, or pick an image from somewhere off the net (with proper permissions of course)

 

You can host your images on such sites as photobucket or imageshack.us

or sign up for the gallery here on dm and use that

Thanks :) Found out about the organizations, but the picture thing got a little too complex for me, so I think I'm just gonna wait with that ;)

If anyone has a suggestion about wich organization I should join that would be nice :) Thought the wolfkin org. sounded good, but I havent really gotten the chance to look at any other :/

What are you looking for, in an organization? I'm a member of the Aiel Org and the White Tower Org and I can recommend both, though they are quite different from each other. In the Aiel we are quite laid back, we're not a very large group of people but we have lots of fun. The White Tower is bigger with lots of cool people.

 

You can visit any org, well their public boards anyway, you like without joining, so just explore the boards is my best tip.  :D

I don't really know what I'm looking for in an org., so e guess I'll just lurk around a little ;)

I have read the first three books this far (started this christmas), and all of them are great  :D I don't know if I can choose a favourite part, couse it's good all of the time!! :o

Which characters did you like? The Aes Sedai? The Warders? errrr ... who else appears in the 1st 3 books? *grins and ducks*

hmmm.. I like the thuatha 'ans(?) a lot, seems like a good bunch of people! But also like Perrin and Elyas lot.. They are boath very free and can do what they want, and that is apealing to me  ;D The others that appears in the first books are the aes sedai (of course ;)), the ogiers, the aiel, and.. hrm... can't rememberveryone ey? :-[

 

What exactly does 'snuggles' mean  ??? I now it is some sort of hugging or something so *snuggles Elgee*  :D

It's a hug type thing, yes ... hehehehe.

 

Have you looked around the boards a bit? Not sure what all you can see that would give you an idea what the different Orgs are all about, though you can always read Barm's sticky  :P

you should check out the rp sounds like it *s* can play most of those type people down there *s*

 

also for orgs, if you do stop by the wt dont forget we're two groups there, the AS and the warders guild...*is one of the very few active females in the guild*

Always good to see new members join, especially Europeans. Make sure you check out about EuroMeet in Ghent this July. There will be a lot of DMers there for  good time, so why not join in the fun? ;)

 

I see some people have mentioned various ORGs. Each offers something different, so hopefully you will find something to suit your tastes. If music and travel are your love, don't hesitate to check out the Band of the Red Hand ORG. Starting today is a thread called "Tune or No Tune".
