Yarrr! piracy!

Shiver me timbers!

I have this new thought. Is there any piracy, like the one you see in the 1700 century? I would love to sail like the good captain Jack Sparrow on the open seas, pillaging the Sea Folk and the other nations' ships. I would also have some rogue channelers with me, and be the first to actually have cannons.

This could maybe be in the fantasy thread, but I wanted to make another thread anyways.

So, what do you think. Why is there no piracy, except the small pirate bands on the rivers. Some smugglers here and there, but nothign like good piracy?

Because RJ did not want pirates in his story.

And in a more in-story perspective, piracy would interfere with the Sea folks trade, and noone until the Seanchan appeared had any chance at challenging their dominance of the seas.

because the Sea Folk, who have experianced channelers and many of them, would decimate any one who dared to pirate their oceans, not to mention the fastest ships in the sea, and cargo masters and blade masters who would dice up any who were left standing after the channelers were done

Yes, see my second post in this thread! I just wonder why nobody just tried making a ship out of metal. I mean, it does work!
