After way too long just discussing it and leaving it in RP Hell, the Band is finally on the move.

A message from the Dragon Reborn will soon be arriving at the Citadel, ordering a detachment of the Band to Tanchico, where they are to retrieve Calder Berrick, DM's version of Mat Cauthon.  The time outside the Citadel will be a good place to do some sort of character development stuff with characters that aren't part of the Band.  Considering that most of the marching will not be done IC, character RPs are a good way to show progression.

Phase One: The Band receives a messenger from the Black Tower, carrying orders from the Dragon Reborn.  The DR orders the Band into Tarabon, where they are to collect his childhood friend Calder Berrick, as well as to deliver to him a sealed message.  They are then to escort Calder to the Citadel.  The Band subsequently gets stirred up while the higher-ups organize the details.  In the end, it is decided that the escort will consist of approximately five hundred individuals from all divisions of the Band.  All PC characters who wish to accompany the group will do so, as well as several of the NSWs.  A few BT can accompany, as well.

Phase Two: Not as much an individual RP as it is an opportunity for the new members to work on their training and promotion.  This section will show progression by changes of location in the RPs.  It is during this time that character development RPs can also take place, giving people a chance to bring their characters to life.  Freelander Mehrin Mahrvon will be accompanying the Band for this part to help train.  One RP during this phase will set the stage for the later RP sections, when rumors and stories of the Seanchan start arriving to the Band.

Phase Three: Tanchico.  While the rest of the Band breaks up into smaller camps to conceal their numbers outside the city, a small expeditionary force enters the city to find any veracity to the rumors.  Banders will engage NPC Taraboners and/or Seanchan (either NPC, NSW, or PC) in conversation in order to learn the extent of events.

Phase Four: Escape.  After close to a week in the city, a small scouting group around one of the palaces comes across Calder Berrick, who has a young woman in tow, as well as a rather flustered court bard.  They spirit them away to one of the meeting places that they've established in the city, where Calder explains the situation: he's kidnapped the Daughter of the Nine Moons, and the court bard goes by the name of Jaros Nameros, a native of Andor who was taken by the Seanchan during their previous incursion at Bandar Eban.  None suspect that this is actually Asmodean, who is accompanying the DotNM in order to manipulate actions and sow chaos.  (Writer's note: this was the original plan back in the day when this was first being discussed).  Getting the DotNM out of the city proves to be a hassle, as patrols are up after her disappearance.  One of the Banders finally decides to drug her, and they smuggle her out in a large beer barrel.

Phase Five: Return.  The Banders return to the main force to discover that the Asha'man have been called away for reasons unknown, and that they now have to flee to the Citadel on foot.  Panic amongst some of the lesser soldiers who have not seen combat before, but things begin moving again.  During the course of the journey, Calder begins taking charge, starting slow with occasional bits of advice, but eventually reaching the point where he is in command of the expedition.  This power shift is aided by him saving the expedition from annihilation at the hands of larger enemy forces.  Asmodean works subtly to incite mutiny among some of the less content Banders.  This reaches a head when a group of Banders try to assassinate the DotNM.  Many of the insurrectionists are killed, but the majority are detained and returned to the Citadel for judgement.  At some point in all this, somebody finally remembers to deliver Calder his message.

Phase Six: "I'm a gambler, a farmboy, and I'm here to take command of your bloody army."  'Nuff said, really.

lol, hello rodelle, fancy catching you wandering around these parts.  ;D I'll be in on this and catching up on my activity next week. only got 3 days of work next week for some reason so things'll be light giving me time. First break in a little while (not counting traffic school later today)

Hey there boys.  I'm the cute heir to the throne you will be shoving in a barrel.  Better watch out or I will twitch my fingers at you.

It has been brought to my attention that instructions for how the roleplay will develop have been lackluster, at best.  I apologize for that.  Allow me to clarify on a few points.

Recruits are not thrown into one small group, then told to run at the enemy as a distraction while the veteran fighters do all the actual work.  As soon as a person joins the Band and chooses their corps, they are a part of that group.  They eat with them, sleep with them (get your minds out of the gutter :P), and fight with them (both meanings acceptable here).

This does not mean that you cannot have friends outside of your corps; in fact, it's encouraged.  Rivals are also encouraged.  It makes for fun character development.

When the Band marches, the various corps march together, and within each of those corps, the smaller squads and such march together.  I will do my best to track down the names of the aforementioned squads for you.  It is not unheard of, though, for intermingling with other corps while on the march; progress in this RP during the march will be mostly described in any personal RPs that start during the march to Tanchico.  I will have a few RPs that I start that will serve to set specific points on the march.  Otherwise, this part of the RP will be a chance for you to try to develop your characters further, as well as to train your characters up before the conflict portion of the RP starts.

If there are any questions or points that you want clarified, please post them here, and I will answer them.
