I'm all for a live draft.

 

Not sure about expanding the league, I kinda liked being 12.

I'm in and never done a live draft so would be curios to try it.

Corki's No Hopers have signed in and ready to better their finish of last year!

 

Everything looks fine...except the time of the live draft. It's a Saturday and I will be out playing cricket at that time (well, drinking after the game anyway!).

We have 9 teams signed up so far. 

 

Let's talk day and time for draft.  Right now I have it booked for Aug 15th at 3pm as a placeholder.  When do you want to do it?

Somewhere along the lines of September 4th or5th, possibly August 29th or 30th.

That is to close to the start of the season man.

 

I am going to poke Pait and Karana to ensure they are fine not being in it this year before inviting new people. 

That is sorta the point, I hate drafting folks that get injured in pre-season. Add to it there are always some surprise cuts and such, when I hold my local league's live draft it is the last Sunday of preseason, so this year Sept. 5th.

 

Right now you have us set to draft before anyone sets foot on the grass.

I just noticed there are only 11 teams in the league. We should have one more.

We have 12 signed up now.

 

How about a draft on Sunday the 23rd?  Like around 2pm est?

Draft has been set to Sun Aug 30th.  There has been a dicussion going on the league boards for a few days and this is what the three people involved seem to think works for them.  If you have issues, let me know.  I am trying to accomidate as many people as possible.

Am I correct to assume that I wasn't able to make it in this year?  :(

Everyone re-signed up... I think Corki is running one too though. 

 

Next year I will get fresh blood.

I am running one...but it is for members of the Band of the Red Hand ORG.

I am thinking about running one, but if I do then it will be a Keeper League, where an owner would carry over players from year to year, the concept has always appealed to me but I've never really stayed in one spot long enough to justify it, I can be anywhere in the world though and still manage to be at DM once or twice a week (er... month *g*) so it would probably work.  If anyone's interested in that I'd be down for starting one up. 

 

Um, pretty much any day works for me as far as Draft day goes, so Sunday the 30th is acceptable, though it looks like Corki wouldn't be able to make it, and I doubt Pait would show up on any date, though I'll start harassing him now.  I guess if it's the best possible to get as many people as possible I'm down.

 

By the by is draft selection going to be randomized on the spot or do we have some idea going in when we'll be picking?

Sunday 30th is fine with me with regards to the draft - I am not playing cricket as there is no game. The only danger is if my best friend gets his act together to arrange an afternoon of drinking.

Our draft positions will be randomly assigned 30 minutes before the draft.  I mean, I can manually adjust it now if you want by doing a random number generator but I didn't want people thinking I am cheating. 

 

Or I could assign it based on how people performed last year since all the teams are the same.

 

I always wanted to do a keeper league too... I just couldn't find a site that allowed em... and then you have the problem of new people.

I shall be present Sunday as my friend isn't about.

Random generation right before the draft is fine, I was just curious because for me there's a dead zone between picks 7 and 10 that I'm dreading. Just no one I like that will definately be available there.

 

It looks like Yahoo enables keeper league type abilities, but if not cbssportsline has a great fantasy football package that I'd be willing to spring for if I could get a really good league.  I'm dropping feelers here in lovely Tejas as we speak.  It's unfortunate most of my other friends like Daniel and the Midget aren't really into football.

Sunday 30th works great for me. I'll make sure I get somewhere where I can get internet access. I might even go to school on a Sunday for this, because the draft will most likely determine my general mood for the coming months.
