Well hello there

 

Gosh its been such a long time.  5 years in fact (give or take).  That makes me feel old!  I am not even sure if there will be anyone here who remembers me, who was playing at the same time, back in the days before it was the Portal Stone Worlds.  I thought, inspired by the arrival of the new book, I would take a peek and see if the RPG was still running, and what state its in.  It had begun to crash and burn a little around the time I left - but I see it has once again built up momentum.  Looks like it has some good, enthusiastic leadership. 

 

I played Rayne Leseduire, Sister of the Red Ajah.  I also had a Novice called Aoife Rois, and for a while played Lanfear.  It was such fun, and the writing was a wonderful catharsis to my studies.  Now it could perhaps be an equally wonderful catharsis to working life. 

 

I have a few questions.  One - is there anyone who remembers me, or whom I would remember?  If so say hi, it would be lovely to reconnect.

 

Two - how does restarting work? Do we just slot straight in, or do we have to start afresh with a new character?

 

Three - does anyone play the story characters?  Because for the years I played before I coveted the writing of Graendal (my favourite character).  She was a psychiatrist in the Age of Legends, and I am one now :P  so my fingers still itch to type her. 

 

In any case, it feels good to say hello.  Shout out folks, it will be lovely to meet you.

One: I don't remember you because i am too new, but i saw your name in the records on occasion, so i'm going to say 'Hi' anyway :)

 

Two: Restarting works by letting staff know that you'd like to return, get your old Bio, write a nice piece explaining where the character has been off to all this time and turn it in for application. If it's approved you can basically pick up where you left off again after reading up on the latest events.

 

Three: Mainplot characters are NSW, being Non-Specific Writers. What that means is that several people may post as them when they are needed so it doesn't depend on a single person being online. Requires approval as well before you are added to NSW lists.

 

This is all from what i recall though, so expect a(nother) staff member with more knowledge than me on this matter to come along to correct me, and send me to the MoN for a nice spanking...

Hi Rayne, lovely to meet you. I've seen your name on some of the older RPs but like Jeh, I'm a lot newer having only been here for about 3 and a half years.

 

I'm sure there will still be some names you'll recognise. Possibly Lavinya, Claire, Muirenn... and Owen of course, he's a regular national monument... various others.  ;D Glad to see more returnees, they're fairly crawling out of the woodwork these days.  :) Have fun.

Hi there dear, there are still those around who remember you! Looks like your questions have been answered but I wanted to say welcome back.

I remember you! I doubt you would remember me so well though. You were the MoN when I became a novice, I think I was one of your last even. And then I was bio checker and approved Aoife lol. Welcome back! Like they said above, feel free to bring back your old characters, or create a new one to go with them. You can have 3 PCs in each division now. :)

 

With your old character bios, much as Jeh said, you just need to update them, then submit them. They will be reposted on the bio board but don't need a CC. The other requirement for returning members is to re-submit the novice quiz and then do a character development/returning rp. Then you're good to go :)

 

Welcome back! I have a little squee inside anytime someone returns from who I considered the old legends of rp ;)

Oh its so nice hearing from everyone!  I feel very welcomed, which is lovely.  Thank you.  I will be so rusty after so long, and I have been dredging my memory for all the things Rayne did when she was at the Tower.  It will be most exciting to come up with a filler story.  It will be even more exciting getting to grips with some RPing with all you folk, new and old!

 

As for Aoife, I might use my bio, but just start from scratch.  It will be a good way of reminding myself of everything.  I did find her power/skill scores in an old table (thought the name is slightly wrong)

Rayne's are on there too.  I also found another table last night and cannot for the life of me find it again today, stating that Rayne had a Weapon Skill of 5 (yes I bothered to do the nefariously boring classes to take me to a weapon skill still not good enough to knife a common soldier :P).  She had the Shielding talent, hence her Spirit score of 8.  Would having been away make her quite old? I'm not sure if I am going to have to now give her white hair!

 

As for the actual story of where she has been and why she is back I have some ideas.  I would love to discuss them with someone else from the Red, preferably the Highest (if she can make herself known ;)).  I think for a Red to have left the Tower would be for one reason only, perhaps to track down a channelling man...and with her Shielding talent bring him in for Justice.  This adventure could theoretically have taken quite some time, and I have ideas for how it might have extended into much longer if needs be. 

 

Oooh its so exciting :D I cannot wait.

 

I hope I am not being a pest with my questions.  Its just I am sure things have changed, and as I said I am very rusty.  I shall take a peek through the Novice and Accepted requirements tonight.

Claire will direct you with Rayne, though I do know you need to wait three months before you can re-apply for your old talent. Lavinya has shielding too, I'm pretty sure the other spot is still open. I hope you stick around and reapply for it, I'm sure we could come up with an interesting rp, especially now that a tentative alliance is being made with the BT and some reds are bonding asha'man...;)

Yeah ... I'll be having none of that 'red justice' now ...

 

That would be a fun return RP ... show up at the Tower only to find your quarters turned over to the Asha'man warders :P
