In the beta right now... I'll have to see what sub prices are...

for me it be an MMORPG you play on the side, nothing serious like Age of Conan with 'real' raids. :p

In beta as well. Haven't tried it yet cause servers were down yesterday. I'll try it tonight and see how it is.

RPG elements, if you didn't notice are.

A) 'levels' or 'ranks'

B) Equipment

C) you can run around on the ground and shoot things.

D) you can talk to people.

 

Basically has everything an 'rpg' in 'mmorpg' needs to have.

Course, in some aspects, 'battlefield: bad company 2' could be an 'mmorpg' but it lacks the D). ;)

Saw those but still didn't interest me.

Star Trek Online  developer Cryptic Studios has announced all-important subscription information for its forthcoming MMORPG, including two limited time offers intended to save you some serious cash should you decide to commit to the game for the long haul.

 

Between now and Feb. 2, players who pre-order the game can purchase a lifetime membership for $239.99 (reg. price - $299.99), and in addition to saving some green, you’ll also have access to two bonus character slots and a playable Starfleet captain. There will also be a 12-month membership on sale for $119.99, but that won’t be available after the promotion period ends. The monthly subscription fee will be $14.99.

 

If you can’t make up your mind as to how much or how little you want to commit to the game, the public beta is currently going on, so feel free to set your phasers to "test out." Fortunately, you have a few weeks to decide if you want to take advantage of these deals.

You forgot that if you get the lifetime subscription, you can play as a freed-Borg.

Supposedly if you go through amazon, you get a Borg Bridge Officer, and thru cryptic, you get to be a borg.

Okay I've seen the live game and I must admit, this is way better than what I was first exposed to.  I watched a friend play the intro and it was really cool. 

 

My need to get that new PC this year  ::)
