Fan Club

So is there an official WoT fan club or are there any plans for one? I'd be interested in joining, if so. Maybe call the members 'Dragonsworn' :)

1) Probably on the wrong forum (should be General Discussion, not General WOT discussion)

2) What would be the difference with, like, this site?

Sorry. didn't know this was on the wrong forum.

As for differences... idk, maybe paid membership to get access to any exclusive content that's produced, like... discounts on games produced on the series, or 'secret' info on the eventual film? Contests with fabulous prizes? idk. There's all sorts of things you can do with a fan club. Maybe just to give Branden Sanderson a mailing list to say 'o hi' to once in a while.

Yeah, there are things you can do with a club, but i can't think of anything that isn't already being done by one of the existing Robert Jordan fan communities. We just don't call things like the Social Groups on DM or the service community at TarValon.net a "club" because they weren't originally organized to be that. But they morphed into essentially the same thing over time. Brandon already has a mailing list and his own official forum. And someone at Tor once told me they'd never create an official Robert Jordan site because Dragonmount and the others already cover what they'd use it for and have been since before they realized Jordan needed a web presence.

The closest thing to an actual dues paying fan club is JordanCon. We even call it purchasing a "membership" rather than buying a ticket. The difference is that a member is expected to be participatory in the event, rather than passively entertained. You get exclusive info, ability to purchasing things that aren't sold online and access to Team Jordan in a casual setting. The catch, obviously, is that you need to be able to attend JordanCon to become a member.

Any collectors out there?

If so, you need to go to eBay now and search for my listing. The listing is titled, "Robert Jordan, Wheel of Time, Winter's Heart, limited edition, autograph & #'d."
