Anyone see the premiere last night?

I thought it was good. A bit slow, but I know that is due to character. I'll discuss more when people start talking ;)

I liked it. More like Unbreakable (not as good though) than Xmen/Spiderman. I heard that it was like the 4400, but I haven't seen that show so I can't comment.

I like the basic premise behind the show. I wish they wouldn't have jumped into the big "here's the main arc of the show already". I would have liked to have seen a few less characters in the pilot and let them have some time to develop the characters.

And have their powers take a little bit longer to mature. Why was the cheerleader so depressed and testing herself like this? Most likely a failed suicide attempt, but that would have been interesting to have seen.

Things like that will make or break the show for me. I will give it a few episodes and see where it goes though.

Ender

I have it DVRed and will watch it when I am back in Cincy.

I love Hiro!

Seriously, I fell in love with the show.

But all shows I love are instantly doomed except House, so maybe nobody else should get hooked on it since it's just destined to be cancelled...

I think the show is pretty cool so far...

It's not totally compelling, though. I mean, I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens in future episodes, but I'm not completely sold on it, yet. The premise is cool, and the way they portray each person coming to terms with their abilities seems pretty true to life (if such a thing could be portrayed "true to life").

What I haven't figured out is what the online stripper hottie's power is. She seems more "paranoid-schizophrenic" than "superhero" to me.

I like the cheerleader chick best. Cuz she's hot and stuff.

*nods*

I watched the first episode last night and felt as Paityr did. I didnt understand what her powers were (this crazy lady is laughing at the TV in the breakroom, its freaky her laugh that is). Anyway, it was a little slow and I hope it picks up in future episodes. (I'm telling you, the crazy laugh lady is freaking me out... she is laughing at the credits...)

I am halfway through episode two and I hope they bring a villian with super powers as well and not just some goverment agency type bad guy.

I must say I found the second episode to be considerably better than the first; I've heard that the two episodes were supposed to be a 2-hour pilot that then got split, so maybe that's why the first episode left so many questions.

But I'm enjoying the show so far, maybe because it's one of the more engaging sci-fi genre new shows I've seen recently.

Other than BSG... I know you meant to put that in there.

Good, we have a villian with some powers. Looks like he eats human brains as his power. Scaryyyyyy.

Episode 2 did pick up a little, but if it doesn't get uncomplicated fast, it will lose the audience.

You know, I was almost born in my parents' living room due to the original BSG (my dad waited til the show was over to take my mom to the hospital and I was born less than an hour later) - I have an instinctive aversion to all incarnations of the show :P

Current thought on the other forums I lurk in suggests that the supervillain may be stealing other supers' powers by eating or otherwise manipulating their brains.

I agree they need to kill off at least one or two characters or bring characters together quickly - it's too confusing trying to follow 8 or 10 different story tracks at once.

Well my theory is that someone wants to have super powers so he is eating their brains......or examining them....or.....Hey a shiny!

It hurts.

I do agree that the cheerleader is the most interesting because 1) they did not do the whole, 'doubt' their powers thing like they did with Hiro and fly guy.

2) she's hot and immortal, what can't you love?

Wasn't til tonight I realized she was the little girl from Remember the Titans, and in that Racing Stripes horror too I think. And that was like a year and a half ago.

Gonna watch it, no doubt, but seriously.. creepy old man factor went up ten-fold. And I'm 19.

Aside, hearing how she 'attempted' to commit suicide was much more entertaining and probably what you thought was worse than they can do (a knife thru the chest and a pipe thru the neck? this girl is waaaay too creative). And did anyone notice.. she's pretty dainty. Takes a tackle and it snaps her neck around.. Jeez.. Hope that isn't a side-effect of her power, incredible fragility to compensate.

Agree. What happens if she loses a limb, will it regenerate?

Well, her hand regrew in the pilot after she stuck it down the garburator! (I honestly had to look away - that was disgusting!) I would assume she would regrow a larger limb if she lost it - it just might take a little longer.

I don't think she'd survive having her head cut off, though...

Ok let's discuss the stripper. What is her power?

Could she possibly be evil?

Heroes Gets Full-Season Pick Up

Source: NBC October 6, 2006

NBC has given a full-season order for 2006-07 to "Heroes" (Mondays, 9-10 p.m. ET) - the critically acclaimed and #1 new series this fall in adults 18-49 (tied with ABC's "Brothers & Sisters") -- it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC Entertainment.

"'Heroes' has delivered exceptional ratings since it's premiere and we're even more impressed with the quality of the upcoming episodes," said Reilly. "We have complete confidence in creator-executive producer Tim Kring. The best is yet to come over the course of a full season with this newest drama sensation."

"Heroes" is averaging a 5.7 rating, 14 share in adults 18-49 and 13.5 million viewers overall, making it the #1 new series this fall in adults 18-49, tied with ABC's "Brothers & Sisters." "Heroes" is the #1 show in its competitive Monday 9-10 p.m. (ET) slot in adults 18-49, generating a 43 percent increase on NBC's non-sports average for the time period last season.

From creator-executive producer Kring (NBC's "Crossing Jordan") comes "Heroes," an epic drama that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities.

They include a genetics professor (Sendhil Ramamurthy, Blind Guy Driving) in India who is led by his father's disappearance to uncover a secret theory - that there are people with super powers living among us. Also featured are a young dreamer (Milo Ventimiglia, "Gilmore Girls") tries to convince his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar, "Judging Amy") that he can fly. A high school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere, Ice Princess) learns that she is totally indestructible. A Las Vegas single mother (Ali Larter, Final Destination) struggles to make ends meet to support her young son (Noah Gray-Cabey, "My Wife & Kids") and discovers that her mirror image has a secret.

In addition, a fugitive from justice (Leonard Roberts, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") continues to baffle authorities who twice have been unable to contain him. A gifted artist (Santiago Cabrera, "Empire"), whose drug addiction is destroying his life and relationship with his girlfriend (Tawny Cypress, "Third Watch"), can paint the future. A down-on-his-luck Los Angeles beat cop (Greg Grunberg, "Alias") can hear people's thoughts, which puts him on the trail of an elusive serial killer. In Japan, a young man (Masi Oka, NBC's "Scrubs") develops a way to stop time through sheer will power.

Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world.

Ok, you're starting to make me interested, so I'll check out the two first episodes this weekend.

If I don't like it I will hold all y'all responsible.

I just checked out the two first episodes, and thought it was pretty cool. Stealing powers by eating their brain sounds interesting. Maybe that's why the Indian guy got killed, to make it easier to find prey.

I didn't understand the whole Hiro thing, though.

Actually if you think about it, that guy is not dead yet. Hiro can still save him since he went backwards in time back to tokoyo.

I don't think that will happen, because then his son wouldn't go to the US.

Nooo, not that guy. Hiro discovered the dead druggie artist with his brains gone. Obviously the druggie is a character and Hiro will save him.

Did y'all notice that when Hiro got to Isaac's apartment (Isaac is the druggie), the comic was finished up to the point where Hiro walks in?

Creeeeepy...

Ah, of course. That makes more sense. :D

I wonder what's the deal with the cheerleader's dad. Did he kill the Indian guy or is that too obvious?

Oh no, the dad is with the goverment. He might have been placed in that family long ago to watch the girl.

For a moment, I thought he was Silas, but that doesn't seem right.

Ok, that was good TV! So it seemed she was dead until they pulled the chunk of wood out of her... maybe her superweakness. And she needs to heal her chest, I liked it better before the Y incension.

And how does the son of that guy have such a nice apartment in NY driving a cab?
