Earthquakes

Featured Replies

It was so big that people felt the quake over most of NZ

The worst thing is that this was on a different fault line to the first quake and apparently it just dramatically increased the chances of Wellington getting a quake.

This is seriously so scary. Earthquakes are the scariest kind of natural disaster IMO, possibly because it's the most likely to happen where I live (followed by volcanic eruption...).

i hate unhappy events. Not just because of the event itself, but becasue i dont know how to react in a way that doesnt offend people. im terrified that i will try to lighten the situation with humour and make everyone hate me :(

i hopr u and ur family/friends/relations are alright, moggy. my heart goes ut to christchurch and its inhabitants. D:

I'm a bit curious about the reason for the national state of emergency... I read a blog post suggesting that the only difference between the local state of emergency and the national was who was in charge. But then, I'm a cynic.

Auckland's volcanoes are trippy, yeah. If Rangitoto blows in a big way the central city will be stuffed.

The herald website says that 80% of Christchurch is without water, which must be terrible.

Blackhoof! How dare you not make jokes!

I've always wondered that myself - and back to earthquakes we had a 3 point today - very small and no damage

While I've been told there is a minor fault line in Texas, the worst Natural disasters to hit my area are Hurricaines.

Hurricaine Ike in 2008 hit us pretty hard. It was awful.

Glad to hear Moggy is ok. As for there being a lot of Kiwis in SG, at one point they made up like half of the command structure xD

It's okay -you can go back to bed now. Trouble sleeping? Here... have a sip of THIS. *looks innocent*

Im ment to be awake now. Its my noon. But Im sure you can drink it and take a nanna nap. Ill even give you some of my own.... Sleeping potion

People can always use help after a disaster like that. It's not an easy recovery process.

Red Cross is definitely a good thought Alak - if I was thinking properly I would have just thought of it myself so thanks ;)

To lighten the mood a bit, I have a question.

When the hell did so many bloody Kiwis appear in SG?!

When did you appear in SG?

Keep on keeping on.
