LMAO, good one Turin. At least I wasn't pushing crack in the meantime like you had to (plumber joke).

Now you know that military types are the WORST hazers/jokers in the world. There is no way anyone is showing anything. It would be quite difficult to remove the result. Painful too. Have you ever heard ofthe "crossing the Line" ceremony?

My cousin was in the navy and his favorite part was the overseas action. He got to see so much of the world... which is freakin amazing.

Which jets take off vertically?

there's kind of two, at least there's one that's operational, one that's semi operational.

The marines have the Harrier, the joint strike fighter x-35 aint quite operational yet

Yeah the Harrier is currntly the only operational VTOL jet. We had them onboard a few times. thry are pretty cool when they take off. They landed normally so they could do their carrier qualifications.

As for crossing the line. The Line is the equator and there is a pretty big "party". Basically the people that have crossed before "shellbacks" haze those that have not "polywags". The polywags have to crawl thru just about every disgusting thing you can of. most having to do with smelly stuff and grease and rotten food. Then there are some other things. PRetty gross. They do similar things for crossing the Date Line and into the Arctic Circle.

lol that sounds like fun. Guess you gotta be creative in finding ways to kill time when stuck in a tin can deep in the ocean

Oh when you mentioned the nuclear reactor engine I automatically assumed Sub. Don't peeps who go into subs get awesome extra pay tho?

No. There was sub pay but it was not that much. Everyone gets sea pay and all nukes get proficiency pay, so the difference was not enough to put up with being hundreds of meters below the water.

Love MST3K. That could work. I was looking over at SG and saw you and Vambram? talking about music. I saw you say Dr. Demento stuff. I remember listening to his show. I read it and "fish heads, fish heads..." popped right into my head.

wow, i listened to that one today (i can't believe i lived this long without an ipod, seriously silly stubbornness - i can't detach myself from it now). i loooooove doctor demento. i was so sad when his show went off the air in NY. i actually saw him in some dive in the village way back when. i think barnes and barnes were there. would have been around 85, 86.

That guy was hilarious. I can't remember anything else off the top of my head other than Weird Al stuff and most of that was after the show went off in LA.

i could list a few dozen off the top of my head, but i'll spare you :). listened to the 20th anniversary album today, i think it was. i have way too much demento. . and the complete tom lehrer catalogue, for those special poisoning pigeons in the park kinda days.

That's pretty funny. I was wondering about that guy. Saw the ones you posted in the 100k too. Nice.

This was a pretty funny thread in general too. It needed some more love.

True. Good call to put it where they can see it better. I've been looking at a few old threads having a laugh at some stuff. New Year's Eve reflection sort of.
