Pandora just doesn't get it

So I'm listening to pandora internet radio, and the current station I have on is Pure Thrash/New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. I'm pretty pumped cause it went from "Seasons of the Abyss" by Slayer, right into "Peace Sells" by Megadeth (insane cool bass line at beginning). Then all of a sudden, the next song is... "Mad World" by Gary Jules. Yeah, the one from Donnie Darko, that's the one (and I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad...). Good song, but how in the world does Pandora sit there and think "Okay this guy lists Anthrax, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Sepultura as his favorite bands on this station. We're pretty sure he's ready to listen to some soft piano and gentle vocals right about now."

Pandora just wtfpwned my aggression.

I still like the song, just not on that station. I like Pandora's ability to compute what I like, I just have no idea why it went with that song.

It is a internet based radio that plays songs according to what you tell it you like. Or it is supposed to anyways.

don't you have to download songs for winamp? pandora plays songs you haven't dowloaded or anything, and for free.

Yes, you have. But my father has downloaded almost all music possible. So it's almost never a problem.

The two things I loved about Winamp: the simple layout and the plethora of skins.

I think it would be amazing if apple allowed its customers to customize the layout of their iTunes window

Anyone really. WinAmp is a good example. Even WMP is better than iTunes in my not so humble opinion.

Which 3rd party players are you talking aboot!?

All of them. In my opinion, open source software will always beat out proprietary. I like rhytmbox though. Too bad it doesn't work on windows for all you ppls.

I use....CD's and Ocremix. =p But I'm gonna buy an mp3 player soon, yay. I have finally recognized my need for it.

i'm still feeding my new toy cds, but i will run out of space before i'm done today or tomorrow, and there's still all my friends' and family's cds, and the library, and i haven't even started on the stuff i wanted to complete the dylan and stones and beatles and zep and who and bowie... things i never got to replacing on cd when cassettes went bye bye... so i think i'm gonna need one of the regular ipods with the bigger memory... but still flipping amazing devices. can't beleieve it's taken me this long to adopt the technolgy. stubbornness is not always a good thing.
