Crap TV

ok, I KNOW I am not the only one out there to watch crap tv. So what have you been known to linger on long enough that "I happened to see, while just flipping through channels,..." is a blatant lie?

Most recently, it was Flavour of Love. Thanks to VH1's endless repeats of episodes I saw pretty much all of season one, and about a third of season 2.

Nowadays, and I admit it, I have been known to watch Top Model. (*if* it is on on a weekend... I mostly get interested in how they manipulate the photos from what they looked like when they were taken.. it's magic I say!).

And this isn't really crap tv, but it's TV that doesn't really need to be watched... I have watched WSOP every day for the past week. Enough that I recognize names of players, and feel for the guy with a kid who has type 1 diabetes.

ACK... WSOP rocks lady! I admit to watching any type of poker on tv for like 3 years now, if not longer.

I do not watch much crap tv, but I will think on this and get back to you.

I can't put the TV to anything VH1, otherwise I'm completely sucked in for hours. Especially "Behind the Music" or "I Love the ..." Oh, and their countdown specials. "The 100 most Shocking Celebrity Moments" and awful, awful things like that.

I thought shocking celebrity moments was on E :)

today I was going back and forth between "True Life" (including ones from yeaaars ago) and "Top 100 songs of the 80s". And WSOP. it's bad yo, bad. But I actually got work done today as well. Amazing what happens when one actually has a FREE WEEKEND!!!! (first one of the year!)

OOOO, now you WANT free weekends away from me!!! Fine, I am going to throw stuff for a minute and wave my hands dramatically. Then hold my breath until you take it back....

I wasn't blaming you!! I was blaming the dorm for making me work.

Smallville. I always keep thinking 'this sucks' while I'm watching it, but I still check out the new episode every week. :D

I netflixed the whole first season thinking that very thought! And yet watched the last season pretty regularly. *shakes head at self*

And last night I watched two more hours of poker (until after 1am), and they were episodes I'd already watched! *sigh*

That's hot! I love poker because somewhere there is always something to watch.

I tried to like smallville.... even after people said I looked like Lex on the show... but I could not stick with it.

fortunately you aren't *quite* as creepy as Lex. Though, I did note the resemblance.

Err, I suppose OC counts as crap TV. I can't help it, the darn show just kidnappes my poor, unexpecting mind every gosh darn week.

oh that is TOTALLY crap tv. Possibly even crappier because it pretends to not be crap :)

Like Hazorsist I have to watch Smallville every week. But my number one "can't believe I need to watch this" show is NCIS.

NCIS?

And hideeho! :) don't know if we've met before.

I like JAG. I don't think it's crap, but my friends snicker everytime I say I'm gonna watch it. Do I deserve it?

NCIS?

It's a spinoff of JAG. NCIS is a real military law enforcement agency that stands for Naval Criminal Investigation Service.

The show stars Mark Harmon.

ahhhh.

I think it would be in poor taste to admit to watching soley Jag/Boston Legal/CSI/Law&Order type shows, but everyone should be allowed to have one of them that they follow. Does that seem fair?

Hehe, that's very diplomatic.

But thanks for not mocking. :D

We only get two channels: WGN and one that alternates between ABC/CBS/NBC/PBS/Fox (depending on which channel has the stupidest show on at the moment). So, America's Funniest Home Videos on WGN is really the only crap TV show that I can count on being able to watch with any regularity.

Fortunately, our multi-channel channel has deemed NBC to be worthy of a weekly showing on Monday nights, giving us access to Heroes. That makes up for all the times it's switched from a rockin' movie to the Teletubbies half way through.

Well, almost.

whoa, we had more station options than that when I lived 2.5 hours from a traffic light in the wilds of canada yo.

I guess that means living 2.5 hours from a traffic light in Alaska is officially more the middle of nowhere than Canadia, huh?

Although, I'd assume if the mountains weren't surrounding town we'd probably be able to get a third channel.

Yup. You're out there Pait... but then again, we always knew you were. I suppose you have better uses for your time up there though, hunting for firewood and seal, and trying to hide from polar bears and the like.

Actually, carving a new ice-window for my igloo is probably the most time-consuming activity I have to deal with.

*nods*

That and playing City of Heroes for eight hours straight.

*sighs contentedly*

I love being unemployed...

How do you have electricity in an igloo?
