I literally threw my phone across the office when I saw that.

Can't someone just like balefire the entire Staples Arena?

I hate you I shy. We got robbed this past year, refs bailed the Thunder out cause Stern wanted a star-studded finals

If it makes you feel any better, LeBron and Co. would have hammered the Spurs too.

And I hate the Heat too, just fyi. My Irish ass is a Celtics fan.

Parker-Rondo

Ginobili-Allen

Leonard-Pierce

Duncan-Garnett

Popovich-Rivers

Tons of beautiful match ups, and both teams are pretty much ego-less and just want to win

Too bad the Ginoblii-Allen match-up, at least, in a Spurs-Celtics scenario, won't happen now.

Not that I blame Ray at all, at least, anymore.

Seriously man. I'm so sick of LA getting EVERY high-profile free agent that comes along! Can't Stern veto this one as well?!

Miami Heat. If it's ok for them, why not LA?

Anything to keep LeBoring from another ring.

To be fair, LeBron deserved the one ring he won. I'm getting really tired of the whole discussion about great players, that can't be considered "great", only because they don't have rings. Karl Malone, Oscar Robertson, etc., are no less great players because they don't have rings. So, in order to avoid that discussion (and also, whether you like him or not, and I don't, LeBron is one of the 10-20 greatest players to ever play), I'm glad he finally won a ring.

He's a great individual player.

And he's an immense jerk, too full of himself and a bad role model. He has talent. But I can't say I like him getting rings. And I'm not so sure that I can be happy he won a ring because it excludes him from the "great players without rings" conversation. It seems the more great players without rings would support your stance!

I'm just wanting to avoid the conversation altogether. A ring shouldn't define who is a great player and who isn't. But far too often, it does. Sir Charles is a great player, ring or no. I would just like to see the stigma of never winning a championship removed from the dialogue.

That being said, MJ is the greatest NBA player of all time. Just to stir up another conversation. Plus, he played for the greatest college program of all time, UNC. To stir up another conversation.

No argument on MJ being the best ever.

But Despo thinks Duke is the best college program of all time. I have a screenshot

Duke can suck the root, DM's PG13 policy be damned.

Christian Laitner is such an incredible tool.

Although....as a 40 year UNC fan....Coach K. is a monumental plus to College Basketball. It's really hard to hate him. I can hate Duke, but I can't, in good conscience, hate him. And it sucks so much to say that.

But Bobby Hurley, Grant Hill, Danny Ferry? Die, you mongrels, die!!!

LOOL - I love the hate pouring forth!

*rubs his hands in glee*

Coack K is the man; I agree.

Blasphemy!!

I hope you realize, should you decide to continue with bashing Lord Dean, and the UNC program, that you and I shall be at odds. And being at odds with Ishy, and all the powers he has to bring to bear, can only lead to your demise. Yes, UNC has that kind of clout.

Hell, even Comrade Obama is a UNC fan. Is it even possible to act against the Comrade's wishes? Modern opinion of the masses says nay.

And to chime win on some of the other stuff-

You can't really say that Lebron DIDN'T deserve a ring after the way he played in the playoffs, and no one said you had to like a champion. They're athletes, not miss America pageant contestants. I hated Malone back in the day and all of his cheap crap, but it would be stupid to pretend like he wasn't an outstanding basketball player. So I'm not saying I root for Lebron to win, I always want the Spurs to win. But I have no problem with the best team winning it all if they show they deserved it.

That being said, I still want the Lakers to DIAF. I will never respect Kobe.

I KNOW!

It's kind of a bizarre story, because it both makes complete sense for NY to have declined to match the offer (would have been paying 30 mil + for Lin his third year, he's just not worth that, period), and is kinda retarded that they let him go. Houston isn't a bad destination for him considering they're being crazy aggressive in trying to wheel and deal for big FA's, and the city was already rooting for an asian star not too long ago...

And then Kidd pretty much going to the Knicks for nothing, and then getting caught drunk driving after that!

Knicks are such a mess

Good try tho Jonas

You can't really say that they didn't deserve a ring.

You can't really say that they did.

Because they are personal opinions. How can we realistically base the player or team's deserving to win on criteria that everyone can accept? Can't. If we base value on our personal values of what we think an athlete should be, then we will always think that some athlete is greater than someone else. For example, I think that sports should be about fair play, honesty, teamwork, hard playing, and above all respect for everyone around you. In that light, I see LeBron and his stacked Miami team of largely blinged up, arrogant, selfish showmanship as a glittering mockery of what sports once stood for.

No one can deny that these guys are talented, otherwise they'd never be near a NBA championship. But I don't have to be happy that they won simply to concede that they are good players.
