I always pictured a gateway as an opening into the other location with only a line of light separating the two. That fancy bit does look ... Well fancy, and kinda cool.

There is another location there, you can see it past Ishamael. And maybe he puts all the fancy scrollwork on his gateways just for style points

I always saw a gateway as just being like a tear that was then pulled open wider and wider. These nice door shaped gateways are a much nicer idea. I like that they are created and controlled, rather than forced and torn.

The band Tool has many things that could be used as emblems for the shadow Ithi. If you are interested of course

Well, I've had a brief but intense introduction to them anyways.

I think taim's crest could work, in conjunction with something else, and a little phrase, in old tongue or Latin or some-such.
