I am currently seeing an ad in another tab which says that I am the 999,999th visitor from my city and get to test an iPhone 4s. Quite silly I think. But what would it hide, Spyware?

 

I can't just click on it and at the same time make a project on "Cyber Crime and its Prevention"

 

What do you think of such things?

Those adds are fake, they have you fill out all these surveys and pay for all these different offers, so even if you do get a phone at the end of it. you still spent about what you would have on the actual phone, not to mention you would need to get service for the phone afterwards.

They are fake and usually contain malware. No clicky clicky mmmmmkay.

what i really don't like are the ones that position themselves so that you click on them while trying to click on part of the website. sneaky buggers,

i can't imagine that the veritable bupkis these ads pay the site are worth the headaches they cause the users.

oh, this is especially lovely - these were on my banner with the last refresh. why don't we just sell illegal... sigh.

Nah, mostly links to rpg sites, hotel deals (i work at a westin), and music stuff. It might depend on your browser tho, and whether you allow cookies and such

no, I got the phishing hacking thing, which... if it was personalized I wouldn't have mentioned it. I thought perhaps des was looking at naughty pix, lol.

I got a malware on my old laptop and it can be very frustrating when you spend a lot of time

online as I do. It's so childish that people have nothing better to do with their time than mess with

people's internet that they don't even know or did anything to them.

 

They should be sentenced to the lowest realm of Dante's Hell. :)

it's a pretty crappy thing to do. the laws should catch up with the technology.

Nothing has been a better investment for my computer than buying and keeping a subscription to a good antivirus software with regular updates. Many, many malware and virus attacks have been stopped cold in the last several years.
