If you are member of the Light, then I'd like you to tell me what your favorite thing about being a part of the Light is, and your favorite thing about other members of the Light. How do they act, what's your favorite trait, and how has the Light made an impression on you both on Dragonmount and in the books?

 

Members of the Shadow, I'd like you to tell me what your favorite thing about members of the Light. What makes them good friends and people to tease (other than being in the opposing faction? What does the Light have that the Shadow doesn't, and what's your favorite thing about the Light in both Dragonmount and the books?

 

I shall start... This goes for everyone, but I like how the Light is really friendly. They joke around with people without going overboard. They may not have as good a sense of humor as the Shadow, but they still have one. And some of the other things are kind of hard for me to put into words

 

And I'm not saying that the Shadow doesn't like Lord of the Rings, but I see more of it in the Light, and I LOVE it!

we really care about each other. we feel real pain for each other and real joy. i cry and laugh there more than anywhere else except out here.

 

and there are some insanely funny people in the light, btw, but a different kind of humor perhaps.

i remember waiting for.... so many years... to see this finished... and how grateful i was when peter jackson, bless him, finally did a proper job of it...

 

That cartoon was a crime. Aragorn was ugly and wore a mini dress!!!

 

Travesty. And it finished half way through the 2nd book.

the olden days were weird indeed... and these days will seem weird when they have passed.

 

they seem frightfully weird to me now.

My favourite thing about being in the Light is our members will always stick up for each other no matter what. Most of our members are strong-willed - some have a select margin of humour, some have a nearly inexhaustible sense that brightens everyone's day, but as Cindy mentioned, all of us care about each other and offer boundless support both on here and in issues regarding real life, and this loyalty to friends is the trait I admire both.

 

To describe the members I have known for quite a while now:

 

Matty - extraordinary sense of humour and rarely fails to bring a smile to my face

Songstress - very fair to everyone and has a stunning amount of compassion

Pankhuri - a strong-willed but very kind individual

Cindy - supportive of everyone going through tough times. A very kind and thoughtful kitty.

Niel - very spirited and also has a great sense of humour

Random - endlessly optimistic and active and efficient in all he does

 

As for how the Light left an impression on me in the books...it did not. Robert Jordan rarely impresses me with anything .

we got each other's back, that's for sure

locke.... maybe the most decent and one of the funniest people i know.

 

more than enough room to be judgmental but never is, of anyone.

leyrann... a being of pure, fiery spirit... hopefully living a happy life without computers... he brought me to the light.... brought me to the BT.

Cindy is def one of my favorite members of the Light. She is truly compassionate, and has shown her willingness to stand up for friends in the BT prob more than anyone else I've seen.

 

Plus her wit is legendary

i am the quiet one in the Light. But I feel more at home here than anywhere else on DM. Taltos is my bestie and we are always there for each other. Matter of fact hes the reason I joined the Light and BT all together. Thank you bestie for dragging my butt here. Without realizing it Cindy cheers me up when i'm in a down mood.Though we don't talk, I really enjoy her posts and think she is a very nice kitty. We have a great group here in the Light and there is no other place on DM I would rather be.
