New To DM (kinda)

Hello everyone, I just found these books a year ago after finishing another series and have been stoked to start reading everytime i sat down. Just caught up to where we all are for the first time, waiting for AMoL, I have been to DM almost the entire time I've been reading the series although I only signed up today. Usually I'd just mind graze, my favorite place to do so is Fan Art Friday, any suggestions on how to get more involved is appreciated. In Rand land I'd definetly be a drinking soilder (as is my actuall life), hence my username and i really like the parallels the Band has to Irish history. Thanks

Welcome welcome to DM! So awesome you have been a lurker. I lurked for a while in the Discussions, looking at various theories, before I signed up one day just to join the Social Groups and got hooked.

And hey, being a drinking soldier is awesome! Although you have already signed up, BotRH is definitely a place for you to be!

You could try the Warders too - Light knows they seem drunk most of the time, that I can see *grins*

Where-ever you end up, I hope you have a great time here on DM and make many new friends.

Please, they see the mother coming, and START drinking.

Joking aside, thanks for the welcome you two. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around. How do you like lejuene? I spent time training there after my last deployment, seemed like a nice place to live.

Haha, Elgee is harmless, unless you try to hurt one of her babies. Then she is like a momma cat on steroids.

Honestly? I hate Lejeune. I hate the town, and I hate the smell, and I hate the roads. But, I'll take the Carolinas over California any day.

It loses it's charm very quickly.

You in?

I was just recently honorably discharged after serving 8 years in the U.S. Army, Infantry. I was an Alpha team leader in Iraq and most of my career (up to the day I retired) I was a machine gunner in LRSSOC airborne unit. Hope that answered your questions and we get to talk more, some people don't like me after they hear what I did for a living. What do you guys do, and how do you like south Africa? I've been to the continent, but only the horn for a Djibouti mission.

Some people don't like to hear that you're the ones keeping the world safe for them? Go figure.

South Africa ... well, the nature is beautiful ... lol

Not that they dont like hearing about it, most of my time I dont discuss with people. Just general overviews, the problem people have most often is that they dont support the wars and as a consiquence dont like us that fight it. Simple minded, politicaly driven people over here seem to think us grunts decide where we go and what we do.

Welcome! I have a very strong respect for soldiers. I was a lurker for a while before I joined, it only gets better here as time goes on. It took me five years to make it through the series for the first time, life and stuff. Yes, as Mother said, we would definitely welcome you in the warders if you cared to stop by.

Ehem, Mother, I'll have you know that I only get drunk on special occasions, which are six days out of the week.

Really Cyan? Stop trying to scare away the newbies.
