We used to have these weekly a while back, and I would like to bring them back as a biweekly ordeal. This means you will have a maximum of two weeks to vote for the Original or the Cover for each song posted. Once the new Original vs. Cover is posted, you will no longer be able to vote for the previous Original vs. Cover. That means you have two weeks to earn your points for participating in this thread!

 

When posting your vote, you may add in your comments, but your vote should be in boldfaced type in order to make Brid's and my life easier

 

At the end of the two weeks, the votes will be tallied, a winner announced, and a new Original vs. Cover posted! Also, the title will be updated with each song title that is being discussed and the date of the week it began: i.e. Jan 6 - Radioactive.

 

Lastly, if you have any ideas for Originals vs. Covers (or Tune or No Tune) please PM me (Jea) with your idea! If it is approved and used, you will be given additional promotion points!

Comments: While all the cool technnogoly is awesome, there is something about the cover that makes me like this song even more, maybe it's the addition of the violin or the extra voices, but my vote is definitely for cover!

Even though I really, really can't stand the song, the Cover is a lot better than the original.  They at least make it somewhat tolerable with the other voices.

I am a bit of an imagine dragons fan and enjoy this song. 

However saying that, I do agree that the Cover is done very well. The mixing of violin and voices is great. I am also a big fan of using more stringed instruments in current music. (hence being a big one republic fan).

Despite being a big fan of that Imagine Dragons album, I have to vote cover. I just generally don't like the song though.

This probably won't be the best original vs. cover I've found, but I'll go ahead and post it anyways. To those of you who have given me recommendations, you will see those appear in February!!!

Comments: I like the Original better, their voices just fit it better.

Even though I don't like the song, I have to say the original is better. The sound on the cover just doesn't fit right to me, well between the music and the voices anyways.
