Are there any songs you associate with cherished memories in your life?

I've always had feelings for City of New Orleans by Arlo Guthrie. When I was in high school we would be annually taken on camping field trips and one of the chaperone people was a musician. That was one of the main songs I can remember singing around the campfire.

I associate Free Bird with my highschool graduation, it was our song.  It didn't help that I recall fondly my dad being the loudmouth he was known to be shrieking "FREEBIIRRRD" at the top of his lungs when it started.

Does Cindy know?

Srsly though, so many.  The first one that comes to mind is "Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden, because that's the song I walked down the aisle to at my wedding 13 years ago.

Nearly anything by U2 from 1993 or before brings to mind tons of high school and college memories.

Still here, much to some peoples dismay. :P  Also think im to young to have a special song and I cant think of any.

Here.

Which one should I pick? MaybeTeenage dirtbag by Wheatus. It was my first class when I started working as a teacher. The kids didn´t want to sing an ordinary summer song when it was time for the school to end. They wanted to sing this song instead. I´m not much for boring summer songs that you hear every year so I thought it was a good idea. Some of my colleagues didn´t agree though so I had to fight for it. I won but in the program they renamed it to Teenage because they didn´t find dirtbag to be fitting. lol

Here.

And, oh boy... There are a lot of such songs.

Any songs by my friends' band Ghost Voyage, because anything to do with them will be among my most cherished memories. Especially Ghost of Dawn, because it reminds me of the summer a couple of years ago when I spent a few weeks at the friend's place (who is the singer of GV) and he was in the process of writing the lyrics and I was writing a novel and he got the inspiration for that song from my novel.

I'm signing in.

There was a point in my life where Breaking Benjamins I will Not Bow really helped me finishs omething very difficult. I return to it whenever I need encouragement.

Does the new guy need to do this? I'm doing it either way. Consider me signed in.

I'd say the whole of Muse' album Black Holes and Revelations brings up some very dear memories for me. The title song in particular even though it's one of my least favourite

Herro!

Probably the little mermaid soundtrack we had on tape casette. Remember that one the most I think. And some embarassing backstreet boys and spice girls stuff. But I had a younger sister so it's cool

Most of the songs I associate with childhood are ones that I played as part of my middle school orchestra.  I can't remember any of their names, but they were fast, technical pieces that I had a ton of fun practicing with.

There are many songs and many ones to choose so I'd say Precious Memories is one that reminds me

of my Grandpa. It's one he used to sing all the time along with his other brothers on stage.

(I tried to post before, but something went wrong and I don't see my post; if it shows up later, the double posting wasn't on purpose)

Here!

Enya and Loreena Mckennitt remind me of happy moments of my childhood.

Learning to Live by Dream Theater.  It is the first song that I could all the way through.  I was about three and I am pretty certain that it is my first or second memory.
