I saw it to.. Didn't stay till the end of the credits.. (GAH) turns out..

Apocalypse is back. And with the renewed timeline, it might sync up with Jean Gray being the good Phoenix under the Celestials.

I really loved this film.  It was so exciting, and could have gone on for another few hours and I would have sat happily through it.

I do have questions about the ramifications of this though--and I wonder if it's answered in the comic or not:

So much changed with Logan stopping Mystique.  But at the end, Mystique, in Striker's form, takes custody of Wolverine.  Does she do the same experiments on him as Striker did?  In the new future, does Logan have metal in his body, or is it still just bone?  If the next film is about Apocalypse, then will we ever get the answers about the new future?

I believe they elude to the weapon X program being brought closer in-line to the comic version. That being an assassination program using mutants.. Like Deadpool, Wolverine, Sabertooth, ect. Given Mystic, and magneto's actions, it stands to reason that they plan to use this program through Stryker, for there own goals, while being funded by the miltary. This also pretty much re-writes X-men 1-3 as now we have sentinels.. And if you recall the original x-men cartoon they discovered rogue after being hunted down by a sentinel. So Stryker in the future, may not be dead at all, Wolverine may never have went back to weapon-x facility, and Jean Grey may never have died becoming the phoenix. Though I think she has become the phoenix in the his new timeline, based on my knowledge of the chain of events from the cartoon and the comics. (She was phoenix before Apocalypse was unleashed... and there's the whole Dark Phoenix (alien clone of Gene Grey) and the Good Phoenix...)

That all sounds so complicated, but FASCINATING!  I can't believe we have to wait till 2016, or whatever, till the next movie.  *pouts*   My husband and I are thinking of getting the comics just to find out what happens.

Wikipedia/marvelpedia's online, are a cheaper and faster way to find out. And even then.. there's no guarantee it will follow the comics..

It's easily the best movie I have seen in a very long time. I can't wait for the Blu-ray to come out so I can watch it again!

Awww yeeeeah I loved it!

We didn't get to see the scene after the credits >.< Stupid cinema technican apparantly has never seen a single Marvel-movie, because they turned on the lights as soon as the credits started rolling, and then it was impossible to see a thing on the screen.

I'd demand my money back!!

I would not go to the comics just yet, since the films do not follow them. The best is to research the character bios at marvel.com, since there are multiple appearances of Apocalypse. This is his original appearance. Apocalypse is really awesome. That trailer is the best I have ever seen. And Blink was solo awesome in the film. Have to admit, cried like a baby with McAvoy and a certain other actor :D

Thank you SinisterDeath!!! Been bursting at the seems to talk about this amazing film!!

There is a reason for Apocalypse to be set in the 80's sooooo...... I have no choice but to WAFO that.

Hahahaha!!! I now know how RJ felt saying his catch phrase. No wonder he did it a lot.

I am going tomorrow for a second time. And I am so looking forward to it!!

SD I'm gonna be satisfied with writing an annoyed post on their FB page, lol.

I read the synopsis of the original Days of Future past comic and see they've changed quite a lot around, so I'll be exciting to see where the story goes. Also, I think it's really amazing that the new movies now aren't a prequel to the old ones; they're a continuation... It'll be super exciting to see where the story goes now. They've now got material for another 20+ movies I'd say, freedom to explore a whole new direction, with how the past was changed. Very, very cool!

So agree!! Cannot wait for the new films!! Some are starting to say this is better then Avengers, like me. As for the end credits....only five of our theatre stayed to see it. And two of us had comic knowledge, and the others were just curious as to why we were not moving!!

Hahaha!! Love the Hunger Games as well. She was amazing here as in First Class. My favourite mutant has always been Bishop. Loved him in this!!

  • 1 month later...

I can't wait until Apocalypse!!! I loved him in the cartoons which I pretty much grew up with, instead of comics.   Comics probably would have been more fun, but the cartoons were good too.

I actually watched 3 different x-men cartoons.  X-men the animated series from the 90s, x-men evolution from the 2000s, and a newer one called wolverine and the x-men.  In my opinion the last one was the best, but like all good TV shows, it got cancelled. :(

Yup. Excited about the coming of Apocalypse!! To think; within two years, we will have him, Thanos and Darkseid too!!!! Such a great time to be a comic book fan. And I agree: the animated shows are awesome to.
