To my fellow Canadians

I hope that you all are ok and safe after yesterday's events. I myself am still upset by it because of where they occurred. My family is military and has been part of the Canadian military for generations. To all those who are military, thank you for your service and courage.

Please stay safe

My family also has  great connection to the military and this hits way to close to home. Thankfully we are all safe and sound. My thoughts do go out to the family of our soldier killed at 24 on home soil :( RIP

I was just PMing Mills about how shaken I still am by it all, and I am on the east coast (far from the capital where it all went down). I'm so thankful for all of the authority(from Military to RCMP to Police Officers, and security guards of all kinds)'s quick response. This could have been so much worse than it was. I hope the worst is over, but I can't help but fear there will be more where this came from.

I can't help but feel that too. Especially since they've asked all military personal to not wear their uniforms while they're not on duty. wolfbro and I are in Alberta but this effects all of us. I was talking with my mom yesterday and talking about the bases that have been shut down. I have a cousin and family in Ontario and my cousin was a part of the military, I don't know if she's a part of the reserves though. I'm glad as well about the response of the authorities yesterday as well.

I believe so. They were guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and it's very ceremonial. They may have had blanks in the rifles though.
