Well, I actually bought one of THIS mask in Venice. Think I'll wear it for the week. 

Really? I didn't know masks like this could be still be found in Venice. Was it expensive?

Depends on what you're looking for. A lot of people make them in Venice to sell, and there are also Chinese replicas of each common style that cost a tenth as much.

 

Of course the Chinese imitations sometimes go for the price of the authentic ones, because lol tourists. You just have to be careful about it.

 

Mine is either hand-made in Venice or was sold to me by an especially tricky bastard. It's been a long time, but if I had to guess maybe 130 euros?

well it is a good price for a hand made mask !

I must admit some of those masks (in general, not just those posted above) freak me out some. Don't know why ... maybe I saw a horror movie once involving masks?

Mine probably should freak you out. The nose was stuffed with perfumes and it was worn by doctors during the black death who had to work around decomposing corpses all day long.

I'm not a big fan of horror films. I love masks though! I have a small collection and I get a new one every time I go to New Orleans!

I only noticed now that it has something almost like the Aes Sedai symbol. It would be cool for earth-now Ajah members to wear the above in their Ajah colours *grins*

for that, I wouldn't mind to appear as black ajah then lol
