Interesting question! To make a Gateway, you need to know the place where you ARE, not the place where you are GOING. So putting aside having an appropriate containing vessel for it, I suppose it's possible as long as you the "caller" know the place where you are? Not sure if your device could be considered a place ... *ponders*

Robert Jordan is very contradictory about Healing in the Books. Sometimes he says that it's all just one Weave (check specifically when Lord Dobraine was Healed by Samitsu) and the only variation on that is that some Aes Sedai can "adjust the dosage", so to speak. In other sections he makes it seem as if there are different Weaves for Healing.

Interesting question! I can't recall either if anyone has explained that anywhere. I'm actually just rereading that book, so I'll keep an eye out for any mention of anything. My first instinct is to say it would have the same effect as death, on the Warder.
