I very much respect this stance. I hope you can also respect mine, as it differs slightly, but has the same impact. If mafia has become a game where we gauge each other's tantrums to see if it's true or not, then this game has passed me by and it's time to really give it up. I already have kids, I'm not going to read tantrums in games, too.

Let me elaborate. I was taught this game and mentored by Kivam. When somebody gets really upset and looks like they want to quit, to me that's too much. I don't want people that upset, so it impacts my thinking of them. This is a game about lying, but it's still just a game. If people look like they are legit upset and want to quit, to lie about that (for me) is outside the spirit of the game.

First part: I totally understand it probably looks like a bad policy. To be honest, it's now a way I identify people I'm willing to play with. If you get emotional and self vote to essentially quit and it was all a ruse and you're scum, I don't want to play with you. That's my rule, it doesn't have to be anybody else's. Second part: I didn't put Cairos in POE because I forgot about him until after, and I included that tidbit instead of changing my post. And yes, I have Turin in there - that's why I said "practically". 😉

Understood. It's just a convenient way for scum to read teammates, so when I see it my ears twitch. All I said was that I now consider you, but you haven't reached my WTL (want to lynch) list yet.

RTE is not getting lynched today, at least not by me. I explained my zero tolerance AtE stance, and whether you agree or not - it's there. And you're open to Dice, not a fan of Gud, and ready to lynch Cairos. All people I listed in my POE, but you don't get half the reads? Isn't that practically ALL of the reads outside of you?

I didn't have Heavy or RTE in there because of their emotional outbursts and then leaving the thread for quite a while (Heavy almost quitting) and then actually self-voting (RTE). And I did mention how I forgot about Cairos. So that leaves literally the bolded. That said, I do now consider Heavy with the recent "null" read on some people.

That last part is a good question. We do in this case because with mislynches available, countering makes it at least 1 scum dead, which opens the game up to ISOing the dead scum player and getting reads off that.

Heh, very true. That was also super early and we all chatted about it and clarified everything. At this point in the game, there should be no questions, amirite?

Why aren't people clear on the roles and rules they have? Ithi spelled this out pretty clearly, I thought. Watcher will move to another town player if the Watcher is killed. If Zander was fakeclaiming, the real one would counter and we'd have a guaranteed scum lynch in one of them. With a mislynch still available, it's a bad move for scum right now. You did see me list the reasons he was on my list, right?

Finally. Been waiting for somebody to null read people this far in (pages/content wise, not game days). If one of these flip scum, that might make Heavy scum as well. Scum sometimes null read each other as they are scared to take a stance on teammates. Just a thought.

Did you see Zander's claim?

That got him on the list, following Cass with an easy vote nudged him up, but the actual shot did take into account his family emergency and how he might have needed to stop playing. If I had to do it again, I would have done the same thing. This is just a game, and the man was having some real stress for his parents and their home.

That's different - he literally had a RL issue that was proven and stated he might not be able to continue. It was not the result of pressure or votes or anything else. He was on my list (erroneously on my part), so I went with him in part as a mercy shot. Mistakes were made, heh. But it's not the same thing.

You are 100% correct. We've seen the way worse and the way less. But after enough times, they all need to fall into the same bucket for me, and that's a zero tolerance one. That's my take, not on you. I'm just not willing to have the same thing from JN repeat itself and lose games because I refuse to lynch somebody who goes there, especially in subsequent game where it's clear the "issue" is still going on. You are more valuable to DM Mafia than I am, currently. It'll miss you much more, so keep plugging. 🙂

I also wasn't going hard at you - I was trying to center the town and see if anybody went a little too eager with the only cleared townie pushing the person trying to lead the most. Maybe it wouldn't have worked, maybe it would have. We'll never know. But Turin joined, so there's that.

Lenlo Turin Gud Turin Dice Gud Lenlo Turin Dice Only options I see. Heavy and RTE both went big on AtE, and Zander did that plus a claim. Oh sh*t, Cairos. I forgot about him. I remember having a policy to lynch barely active players, and it backfired enough that I stopped.

I guess I should consider Dice as well, but that's like me listing the whole player list and saying I think I have a scum in there, heh.

No CC means I'm voting Lenlo or Turin. I can't vote RTE because of the self-vote. That level of AtE is a hard stop for me. Let me know where we're going, folks.
