  1. Cass I don't remember what I ate for breakfast help a brother out.
  2. I don't even try to replicate my town game lol. I can't do it. That's my heresy in the CCSoHW. Trying to replicate your wolf game will just make you appear a hollow shell of yourself unless you've got more time and energy than I'll ever muster. Wolf in broad daylight. Don't let the village have an opportunity to peer into your soul. Seed chaos and doubt and conspiracy. It doesn't matter if they suspect you as long as they suspect everyone else too. You can say the right words at the right time to get out of a pinch because you're the one being dishonest. Everyone else will keep being who they are.
  3. In my silly heart I'm waiting for Cass to drop a bombshell case on why Gud is a wolf here and we ride into the night with an easy D1 wolf lynch.
  4. Interesting. Go on, or will I get there shortly? Page 38 atm.
  5. At the end of the day it's just an assessment of whether you think they're lying or not and degrees of certainty.
  6. I hear you and can have similar thoughts at first glance and part of the "reasserting" in my last post was for myself. I look at it like this. You're legitimately new and don't know what you're doing in your first wolf rand. You want to look like a villager. You ask your team mates for advice. You do what other villagers do, drop some low commitment takes, express your uncertainty because we have no info yet, be basic and try to blend in. Gud's style so far has given me no reason to doubt that, at least at this stage of her game experience, this is how she'd treat her first wolf rand. Vs here you've got... such a public display of not knowing the first thing about where to begin. Asking people to coach you in thread. No attempt to look stereotypically villagery. That's a mighty rare thing for a first time wolf to do. Can a first time wolf be coached to do it? Yeah, but who would advise that in this crowd? Can a first time wolf independently think it's a good idea? Yeah, but if she's that independent then this should look pretty different from the game she just finished a week ago, and no one is saying it looks any different. No one's lock clear; I don't buy into that mentality. She's as clear as you can get with the current state of information though, for me at least. Everything's one day at a time.
  7. Going to continue to reassert that this is almost always a villager. Like who would she even be trying to appeal to faking these posts as a wolf? She doesn't even know it looks good lol
  8. Just due diligence, this is the first wolfy thing you've said in a while. When does Zander ever wait for anything lol
  9. Did I tell ever tell you about the time I entered a pre-rand event where all 7 players were secretly randed jester, won that, got the prize of getting to choose my alignment for the main 40p game, chose solo 3p, and also won that? 😄 😄 😄
  10. Friendships/relationships is not really a part of it. Whether you're in "D1 is a crapshoot" or "D1 is the most important phase of the game" crowd, you're going to encounter people who don't want to lynch their friends D1. I don't do that, but I'm a jerk. Meta from other games can be useful to a point but gets overapplied. There are some players with truly polarizing meta (locally, Wildfire Sedai comes to mind) who can be read with very high accuracy out the gate, but most players are going to talk more or less the same from a comfortable distances regardless of their alignment in my opinion. I think the generational difference part that's effective (and I'll argue that at this point there's another newer zoomer way of playing that feels exactly to me like how y'all describe our Millennial way of playing lol) relies more on reading emotions. And reading that requires, well, having strong feelings about the game in the first place. Things get louder and faster. It's less about show me that what you're saying makes sense and more about show me that you really believe it.
  11. Huh Don't mind the suspicion but the reason has me scratching my head a little.
  12. Weird conditional things in my head right now are Turin not wolfy but potentially gave Verbal way too easy of a pass if Verbal is a wolf. RTE not wolfy but potentially got counter-bussed poorly if Cairos is a wolf.
  13. I guess RTE and Cairos could have been bussing there. World where RTE light busses an inactive team mate and Cairos responds with his first push of the game because he's the sort of wolf who feels a lot less uncomfortable engaging team mates. I see that often enough especially among low activity wolves who are fairly displaced from the thread. My head had circled back to the conversation because I thought it was weird that Cairos called RTE "defensive" when the push had been entirely one-sided the other way, though I maybe shouldn't read that much into word choice.
  14. If RTE's a wolf he's good at this. Continuing to trend up for me.
  15. Has anyone besides RTE named Turin as a suspect?
  16. You can talk about your own alignment all you want. I certainly do a lot of that.
  17. I don't think it reflects poorly on Cairos because he never said he wasn't reading, but your head's in a villagery place so that's good.
  18. I am extremely down to host goofy bastard games that are too unbalanced and unpredictable for MU.
  19. Villagers bark a lot and scratch their fur and howl at the moon.
  20. I noticed myself pop up in the top posters section and it reminded me of something I really like about this forum layout for Werewolf. I like that we can't track every player's post count. I can't stand post count reads. They're so cheap. They invite spam. Wolves have to and villagers feel obligated to post more to live up to other players' expectations, and the standard raises with every generation as people constantly try to out-post each other, and suddenly oh you had less than 100 posts in a day phase makes you a suspect no matter what you've had to say, while half the people around you have said nothing at all but hit that sweet untouchable spot of 300 post per day average. Ugh. I'm glad it's not visible here. Being forced to ignore post count is good for the game.
  21. Yeah I mean You bleed new to the game all over and sometimes you say things that strike me as wolfy in the moment, but then I reflect on how I think someone who has those takes as either alignment would play their first wolf rand and I go right back to feeling comfortable with you. We'll see where things go down the road but you're still in my village pile for now.
  22. I'm not fully prepared to call RTE or Lenlo villagers but I don't want to kill them at this moment. Cairos was bugging me for a reason that I know upsets him and others have already called out, but reading people on how they handle their inability to participate due to IRL obligations is a thing we all have to do sometimes. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and allow him space to play, but he's on my radar.
  23. Maybe it's a mash thing lol. Sometimes there's no one person you can point to and go "you're the one doing the wolfy thing" but there's a clear vibe in the air that the thread is inordinately open or resistant towards lynching someone. I felt you were being hedged over too easy.
  24. Still my best guess at a wolf but I don't want to commit to anything yet and am especially eager to see where cass and cairos go. Had to stop reading top of page 36 and probably won't be invested again until after my work shift.
  25. What rubs me more than that isn't exclusive to RTE. I caught a waft of "Zander might be town but we should still lynch him for the thread state/information" that didn't sit well with me at all. I believe all of RTE, Verb, and Heavy did it, but don't quote me on Heavy, I'd have to look back to confirm. I think wolves are more likely to +1 that vibe, secure an easy mislynch while preemptively washing their hands of it. Frankly, the sense that wolves were eager to chop you today is another factor in why I think you're town.
