Why not follow the books more closely?
There's a certain self-appointed spokesman in WoT that this comment reminds me of... Look, I've been lurking up a storm and soaking up as much of the S3 hype as I can, and I haven't seen even a single youtube or reddit comment implying that The Shadow Rising is a bad book in any way. I'm sure somebody out there must be, just statistically, but everything I see is more like this praise from Winter Is Coming: https://winteriscoming.net/why-you-should-read-the-shadow-rising-which-will-be-adapted-this-year-in-the-wheel-of-time-season-3

Season 3 Sneak Peek
This is exactly the point that expat and king of nowhere are making in support of the position that the sneak peek battle is believable in the context of what we know about Aes Sedai. As an institution - and particularly among the individuals that are based in the White Tower - they are A+++ Mean Girls and mostly pretty big dunces at using the power in a situation like that.

Speculation on episode 1 of season 3
I expect we'll get it through conversations, like Liandrin's accusations against Siuan in the sneak peek were a way to get the audience up to speed quickly.

Season 3 Sneak Peek
This is a fantasy series where many of our heroes possess canonical plot armor as ta'veren and basically everyone else is covered under the oft-repeated mantra "the wheel weaves as the wheel wills." Suspension of disbelief is a core tenet of being a WoT fan (even more than other fantasy/sci-fi).

Season 3 Sneak Peek
Saw somebody compare this to how magic battles should have looked like in The Witcher and some other shows, it's definitely a great opener to the season that's gonna grab attention from people who might not have cared otherwise. Excellent marketing to lead with this long clip.

Global Fan Event for WOT hosted by Amazon/MGM on March 8
Entirety of S3E1!! Plus cast interviews from the London live screening perhaps? Maybe announcing greenlight for S4? I love that the production and marketing teams are this confident with the new season, this is a great sign.

Season 3 Trailer - Thoughts
Right there with you! As to all the concerns, it's WAFO as always. I'm sure it will be less than perfect, but what we've seen of S3 so far is genuinely exciting.

Somebody on reddit posted this image from a horizontal version of the S3 poster. Is someone channeling around here, 'cause my skin's getting cold!

Season 3 Trailer - Thoughts
The dedication to assuming ill intent is just exhausting. Maybe the show will actually follow through on everything they've been saying for literal years about season 3 being where they are able to align with book 4 and give us a more direct adaptation? You don't have to believe them, but it's just annoying to inject the little black raincloud at every turn. The bees are not fooled.

Season 3 Trailer - Thoughts
Yeah, maybe this delicious pizza is actually a handful of sand and it's all a simulation, man.

Interviews and News Articles
I think it's more likely to be a season-ending cliffhanger after the showdown at Alcair Dal in episode 8, but I also believe something very much like that is going to happen.

Season 3 Trailer - Thoughts
It was just one of many phrases and scenes in the trailer that foreshadow book moments I'm excited for. That one - "If the White Tower does not bend the knee to Rand al'Thor..." is clearly part of the buildup to Dumai's Wells: "Kneel and swear to the Lord Dragon," he said softly, "or you will be knelt." Maybe next season?

Poster out today, trailer out tomorrow! https://winteriscoming.net/new-poster-for-the-wheel-of-time-season-3-reveals-the-return-of-a-surprising-character- Hey sleuths, any news of Season 3 in theater screenings?
Looks like London is gonna get one, and it will be streamed- Speculation on episode 1 of season 3
I think that's all likely, and I also think there is going to be some Aes Sedai followup with Mat regarding the Horn of Valere and possibly a second dagger healing like in the books. Not sure how Rand and Perrin (and Aviendha) are going to be roped in and then let loose by the Tower for the rest of the season. Excited to see though!- #wotWednesday
A dapper cheeky Mat https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFsZAMANJSI/?igsh=MWJsNDdhOHR0MjB2aw%3D%3D A few very brief clips from S3 included, leaving me with more questions than answers (which is a good thing, questions make viewers want to watch a show)- The writers WANT to change WoT and they didn't have to
Take it to DMs, please.- #wotWednesday
haha, jinx!- #wotWednesday
Well, WOT Wednesday #2 seems like a bust, but I did see these new stills from S3 released. Pretty cool stuff, the Morgase costume is WAY over the top https://reactormag.com/the-wheel-of-time-season-3-first-look-images-give-us-morgase-elaida-more-questions-than-answers/ If the Reactor link doesn't work it's because they jumped the gun and had to take it down. Exactly as in the books, FYI. That the Seanchan used the word "trained" and similar language was clearly an indication of their cruelty. - #wotWednesday
