It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

 

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

 

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

 

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

    Usually I'm interested in books and not in author's life and it is only today that I learned that Robert Jordan is not working on the next volume of the Whhel of Time. How sad.

    To the family of Mr. R. Jordan, four years ago I stumble across a book called" Winters Heart". I read it and was completely taken in. I wonder if there was another of this kind. I found out thorough my daughter, that there were several. I was so greatful, because it had been a long time since I had read anything like it, in the way of a classic. I brought the whole collecton and have been reading them one-by-one, taking my time, because i don't want to miss one word of what has been written down. My prayers are with the family, my heart was greatly sadden to hear of Mr. Jordns passing, but what a legacy he left.

    What a big shock, just heard the news today, i never really knew RJ personally, but i have always been a fan of his work. "The Great Hunt" was the first of his books that i read, and sinse then, i have simply been captivated by the entire series. My heart goes out to his family, friends and indeed all who his life and work has touched.

     

    I take solace in the fact that although is life was not a long some, but in the years he lived, he was able to touch so many lives, and be an inspiration to millions of people. That to me is more meaningfull and fulfilling than living forever. even at that, his work will live on forever in the heart of his family, friends and anyone who picks up any of his books to read.

     

    May his soul rest in peace.

    To the family of Mr.Jordan sorry for your loss.While i was work,a truck driver gave me book 2.i started reading and couldnt put it down,i found book 1 and and been a big fan ever since.Im not a big reader of books,but once i started reading,i couldnt stop.I have all copys hard backs and paper backs.Again sorry for your loss my prayers go out too you.

    I pay my belated respects to a great man and epic storyteller. When I was recovering from a motorcycle accident (declared dead at the scene and 5 years of surgery) I started reading the series, which in part saved my sanity and life. While recovering I tried to return to the land of the deceased (read suicide) the books literally pulled me back. Saying thank you is simply not enough Mr. Jordan. Let your quest continue! Michael

    To the family and friends of Robert Jordan. I know it is very late but have only just read the Robert died. My sincere sympathies to all.

    The Wheel of Time is abolutely fantastic having read the books 1-11 plus New Spring several times I am now listening to the complete works on audio. I have listened to Robert discussing how he listened to the audio to make sure he was writing each part so it was clearly understood.

    I believe he succeeded, now am looking forward to book twelve, with great expection and a lot of sadness.
