The "It's A Knockout" for James Bond songs was won by A-Ha and their song The Living Daylights, which beat Louis Armstrong's We Have All The Time In The World in the Final. In the 3rd/4th Play-Off, Lulu's The Man with the Golden Gun triumphed over Rita Coolidge's All Time High. "It's A Knockout" continues this week, but we are returning to the longer format of 2 weeks - and this means there are 16 songs instead of 8! The usual rules of a vote a day contines though, so make sure you post your votes. And for the next two weeks (Monday 9th March 2009 to Monday 23rd March 2009), we will be concentrating on classical music as part of the classical music theme for March. …

The "It's A Knockout" for Queen was won by Bohemian Rhapsody, which beat We Will Rock You in the Final. In the 3rd/4th Play-Off, We Are The Champions triumphed over Don't Stop Me Now. "It's A Knockout" continues this week, and is another short and sweet version - each vote is for a day so make sure you get your vote down in time! This means that the thread will run for a week. And as a result, the number of songs is smaller, and is concentrated on one group/singer/artist. And for this week (Monday 23rd February 2009 to Monday 2nd March 2009), we will be concentrating on the main songs from the James Bond film franchise. Picking 8 songs was tough, but I have gone…

The "It's A Knockout" for the top selling singles in the UK is now over, and Nickleback ended up defeating Sam Sparro in the final, with Katy Perry taking third place over Alexandra Burke. "It's A Knockout" continues this week, but it shall be short and sweet - each vote is for a day so make sure you get your vote down in time! This means that the thread will run for a week. And as a result, the number of songs is smaller, and is concentrated on one group/singer/artist. 2008 has finished, and the Band of the Red Hand, DM's travel and music ORG, will be hosting a knock out competition to find out what DM's favourite song from the 16 best selling singles of 2008. Each day, 2 songs will be posted, along with a link so you can listen to the song if you do not know it, and all you have to do is post which is your favourite song of the two. After a day, the votes will be counted, and the winning song will progress to the next round, until we only have 1 song left as the winner at the end of the competition. I'm one of the Infantry Blademasters as well as the Editor in Chief of the Band's newspaper, the Hornsounder (which you see published each month here in one of the stickies). Here, have a Guinny or 5 while we wait for the other Banders to file in and give you a proper welcome and for the Chief to slap the Amazing Spiel on you. Enjoy your stay, welcome home and make yourself comfortable! You'll be sweating and toiling as all Recruits soon enough ;)

Welcome to this month's edition of the Hornsounder! Welcome back, dear Reader, after (what we hope was) a nice, relaxing and energising holiday season. For many of you the month of January was also a month of sales, I imagine. Some of you had to recuperate from gruesome exams and laboring school assignments. For the Hornsounder Team, the Christmas Break was very welcome indeed and we are back all ready to take on another year! At this time we also welcome 2 new members to the Hornsounder Editorial team. Demonspawn, a well noted arts magician, has been hired as the Hornsounder's newest Graphic Editor and as you can see from our spanking brand new banners, …

Since no-one has done so (it must be due to Christmas), welcome to DM, but more importantly, welcome to the Band of the Red Hand - the best ORG at DM! You've made a great choice! Now, I will post the Official Spiel when I get home from work in approximately 5 hours (only doing a half day today! yay!). Hi Banders! Just thought I should drop by and share my best albums of 2008 with you, since you like music and so ;D 1. Glasvegas - Glasvegas Best thing to come out of Scotland since whisky. First time I listened to this album felt very much like listening to Nirvanas 'Nevermind' for the first time. Raw, desperate, and underneath the guitars a bunch of immortal melodies. Flowers And Football Tops 2. Detektivbyrån - Wermland. Acoustic fol-electro from northern Sweden...This might be the strangest things you have heard in years. But what is even stranger, it works. Om du möter varg (live) 3. Hello Saferide - More Modern Short Stories From Hello Saferi…

Hey Guys 'n' Girls, I thought I would pop in here to introduce myself since I hve just posted to be added as a Raw Recruit... I love music, I love travelling and I love fun & frolicks! Music wise - I sing and play guitar and used to manage a band... My tastes are extremely eclectic, anyting from Jazz and Blues dating back to the turn of the 20th Century, to 80's Goth Rock, 1950/60's Rhythm and Blues (none of this modern stuff please), Heavy Metal, Folk, Celtic, Punk, Baroque, Regee and Ska, Medieval... Plus loads more, but I think you get the picture... Travelling - Ilove it - I need to do more!! But so far I've travelled various places in Europe …
