It's almost Valentine's Day, and love is in the air! If you've got a special someone who needs some attention, you can now send them a delightful Valentine and let them know how much you care. But we know some people just want to spend Valentine's Day alone, stewing in their own contempt. We've got those people covered, too: if you're not in the mood for romance, you can send some grouchy anti-Valentines to your friends and enemies. Every Valentine you send will have a gift attached; you can choose one of a dozen new exclusive event items, ranging from cheap to not-so-cheap. If you're really feeling flamboyant in your romantic largesse, you can even send an exclus…

A compelling new Fox cop show from Shawn Ryan (creator of the dearly departed “The Shield” and “Terriers”), "Chicago Code" stars Jennifer Beals ("The L Word") and Jason Clarke ("Brotherhood") as former police partners whose careers have since moved in different directions – she’s the first female superintendent of police in the city’s history; he’s a maverick detective she taps to covertly investigate city corruption. Delroy Lindo (“Ransom,” “Kidnapped”) plays their adversary, a wily local politician who controls the police department’s funding. Also aboard the project is writer-director-producer Tim Minear, who worked with Ryan on both “Angel” and “Terriers.” As with…

I don't want to cause any concern, but if the launch trailer for Dead Space 2 is anything to go off of, I feel like protagonist Isaac Clarke may not be in a good spot in this sequel. Between the legions of monsters trying to kill him, other humans on the Sprawl abandoning him, and the Smashing Pumpkins soundtrack, he appears to be in a bit of trouble. Check out the video below.

FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS is a new stand-alone game set in the FALLOUT universe, using FALLOUT 3's game engine. It is set at an undisclosed period in time in Nevada, in and around New Las Vegas, and will feature the return of the New California Republic from FALLOUT 2. The game is being published by Bethesda, but as they are now hard at work on their 'secret project' (which is blatantly ELDER SCROLLS V) they have outsourced development of the game to Obsidian Entertainment. This was an excellent choice. Obsidian are the successors to Black Isle, who made FALLOUT 1 & 2. Chris Avellone, the chief designer of FALLOUT 2 and one of the finest game designers in the industry (…

I really like games with a story... as well as good puzzles, so I'm wondering if anyone could contribute any names I haven't come across before. I'll give you a list of the titles I've played/seen played so far. Syberia 1 & 2 : Excellent games, the search for the heir to a mechanical automoton company. Machinarium : Very distinctive art style, a newer game. Well worth playing. Still Life : slow-moving and rather boring, with some impossible puzzles. If you played it, you'll remember the lockpick puzzle. Nikopol : Interesting story involving Egyptian Aliens trying to take over Paris (I think). Boring as hell though. Sinking Island : Unique game where you are a…

This is your warning, I'm going to put you all under the entertainment heading, as sports is a form of entertainment. Between the 9th and the 12th, if you missed it in the topic title. Otherwise nothing is changing.

Last week, when my assistant showed up 15 minutes late to work as usual (she likes to take her coffee break first thing), we exchanged the customary early morning courtesies and then I asked her how was her weekend. "Oh pretty good. A friend of mine gave me some movies to watch", she replied. "Any good ones?" I asked. "They were OK, but there was this one that was really, really good and I had never heard of it before. It.." "Oh, the best movie that I had never heard of was O Brother Where Art Thou with George Clooney. It is a great movie", I interupted. "How did you ever know that was the movie?", she questioned in amazement. "Because it simply is the best movie I ne…

I just rented Inception and I've watched it once so far. Really liked it, but was very confused. I'm now about halfway through my first rewatch. I'm taking it slow, trying to digest things, and I've got some questions. Here's a few to start with: 1. What is the deal with the Ariadne's shattering mirrors trick in the Paris scene? Any significance to that? I know there's got to be something to this, but I don't know what. 2. The crew is going 3 levels deep with Fischer, right? Why does the "kick" have to be simultaneous through all 3 levels? 3. On Level 1 with Fischer (City), Cobb's train shows up. But he's not the "dreamer" of that level - the Chemis…

My link So there is now no Alien prequel, even though he quoted that on the Quadrilogy Blu-Ray DVD But he says: "The keen fan will recognise strands of Alien's DNA" So I reckon it is but has only a little reference to the Alien story that people can take it as a stand-alone film or a story within the Alien universe. Still with Alien and Bladerunner on your resume, and HR Giger on board to could be good :)

Yeah.... what is going on! Rovio, the Finnish company behind the popular iPhone and iPad game app "Angry Birds", has confirmed a fictional narrative series is in the works reports Heat Vision. "We have been looking at [a show[ for quite a while, and that is definitely one of my personal big focus areas right now -- to work on broadcast content for Angry Birds" says Mikael Hed. It's uncertain whether it will air on TV or online, or both. The app has been downloaded more than 50 million times.

Think that potential "Lethal Weapon" reported on the other day is just a pipe dream? Think again as producer Joel Silver has hired Will Beall to write the script for the reboot at Warner Bros. Pictures reports Deadline. Beall is a former LA police officer who patrolled South Central and wrote the novel L.A. Rex. He's also penned a few episodes of ABC hit series "Castle" and the crime drama "The Gangster Squad" which Ruben Fleischer is directing and is currently targeting a 2013 release. Beall's pitch for the film proposed "a hard R-rated edgy street cop movie" that will relaunch the buddy cop series with a new cast but keep the tone of the original. Not long …

Throughout, MI5 DVD show strikes a fine balance between a James Bond-ian techno-obsession with spy gadgets and more character-based action, bones DVD with crisp writing and direction that ratchets up the tension a notch further with every episode. The Tribe DVD The final cliffhanger is an unforgettable TV moment, and one that leaves viewers agog for next season. Transformer DVD I first became addicted to this show, This show gives us a fictional insider view of Britian's domestic intelligence division known as MI-5, and we're not talking James Bond (anyway, he was MI-6). supernatural DVD This show presents these people as patriots fighting to keep their country safe, but …

A single game staring three of Sony’s biggest platforming stars sounds like a game that would appeal to a lot of people. All those people might be interested to know that the game will be shipping on March 22. Nihilistic Software has been busy putting the finishing touches on Sony’s PlayStation Move Heroes, the game staring Jak, Daxter, Sly, Bentley, Ratchet, and Clank, which also utilizes Sony’s new Move hardware. Anyone else waiting for it to hit the shelves ? I know I am. Some people find Fable boring...but if you have picked up as many truly horrible/boring games as me, on accident, there is no way this series can feel bad. I am just a little nervous about what they are going to be doing with the game play this time; I have read they got rid of the turn-off-your-game-and-earn-money-while-you-are-not-there feature from Fable 2. I actually liked that feature...not that I used it too often . http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/15/fable-3-preview/

An improbably and tremendously entertaining new FX drama from “The Bucket List” screenwriter Justin Zackham and (starting with the second episode) “In Treatment” showrunner Warren Leight, “Lights Out” follows a Irish-American New Jersey boxer drawn out of retirement by pride and looming insolvency. It is not to be confused with acclaimed big screen effort “The Fighter,” the tale of an Irish-American Massachusetts boxer drawn out of retirement by pride and looming insolvency. (Even though in both projects the pugilist finds himself undone by the efforts of a wayward brother.) “Lights” stars Holt McCallany (“CSI Miami,” “The Losers”), Catherine McCormack (“Bravehear…
