Ummm... I think this is the best movie I have seen this year. Sure it is a little long (100 minutes). It also starts off a little slow. But the movie builds upon itself. The characters are full and are well developed. Denzel plays the same character you have seen many times over using the patented moves we have seen from Denzel (the chest pump, the attitude) but these trademark moves work real well in this movie. I can not say this film is better than The Departed, but Ridley Scott delivers something that is on the same level as this film. I see Oscar potential all over this movie and suggest it for those that like a good crime drama.

Any fans of The X-Files here about? David Duchovny has confirmed that a second film is indeed in the works, hopes are to get filming underway before the end of the year before this mysterious strike they keep mentioning as if there's nothing that can stop it. Gillian Anderson is on board as well. Word is that the new film will not feature the alien conspiracy mythology (despite the looming 2012 deadline for invasion!) but will instead be an X-File film. The demo of this eagerly-awaited shooter (from the makers of Far Cry but not a direct sequel to that game) was released today. A big download (1.8 GB) but easily worth it. If you haven't heard of it, its probably because its a PS3 exclusive. What is the game? Its a TCG (Tradeable Card Game) that is also a PS3 game. It used the Playstation Eye, with the cards, with a special type of 'bar code' that allows the eye to recognize, and then 'summon' the creatures or spells within the game. As a result of what is almost certainly a physics algorithm glitch, players have figured out how to turn a friggin' cargo container into a flying vehicle in one of the Halo 3 maps. Even though this film was released in the States back in August (I had a look for an old thread, but couldn't find one), it has just been released here in the UK (on Friday), and I went to see it yesterday with my girlfriend, having seen it advertised just about everywhere across London!
