Welcome to the Seanchan! You are officially members of the org, and so you should feel more than free to join or start threads in the public and private boards. Some easy places to start are the various Simpsons threads that around for our Simpsons theme week, and the Favorite Actor stickied thread, where you vote for your favorite of two actors until we whittle it down to a winner! Now, our unofficial newbie sack is still full of the last set of newbs, so you will have to forgo the joy that is burlap, but I'm sure the next poster will have a lovely idea of what other things we can do to torture, errr, welcome you. 8)

A call to arms from your new recruit: For any of you who missed it, the Illuminators are putting together a DM Cookbook (real, printed, with pictures etc.). I'm running the project, and we're currently gathering recipes. I've got about 25 right now, and I need lots more. So, please: Anyone who has a recipe they think other people should know about - your own or someone else's, but if it's someone else's you MUST indicate the source (name of chef, cookbook, magazine - whatever information you have) - PM me or e-mail it to me at Locke000@aol.com Please put "RECIPE SUBMISSION" in all caps as the subject line, and tell me as much as you can about the rec…

http://www.simpsonizeme.com Go there and get yourself Simpsonized, then come back here and post a before and after shots of the process. We'll give everyone a week or so to post their images, then we can have a little contest to see whose Simpson-self most closely resembles their actual self. Once a winner is selected, Empy will mail them the Seanchan family's very own copy of one of the greatest movies of all time...A*P*E! This will be yours to keep (until we have another stupid contest with a winner to send it to). Anyway, I'll go first to show you all how it's done. Before: Simpsonize Me:

You might have noticed that some of us are flashing Simpson style sigs. Well in light of the the Simpsons movie (which was pretty good in my book) The Seanchan is having a Simpson's week. So post about your favorite Simpsons quotes, shows, characters, or your least favorite. Also I wanted to give praise to Cadsuane for making us these sigs. She rocks.

From http://www.comcast.net/tv/index.jsp?cat=TELEVISION&fn=/2007/07/31/727941.html I especially caught that the likely audience as pudgy misfits in "Star Trek" costumes, their vintage plastic phasars set for "stun.". Apparently he hasn't heard that nerds like to burn trailers. ;D ;)

www.hsx.com This is a fun site I found a few years ago and dabble in every so often. Basically you can buy stocks for upcoming movies and see how well you are at guessing at the winners. For example, I bought Indiana Jones stock a year ago at around $11.00 and now it is near $100. Basically the game starts you out with a million dollars and you go out and buy movie/actor stock. You can buy or sell stock at anytime. There are also mutual funds which are like movie genres or studios. Overall a good idea and some fun. I have made over 8 million dollars and I am not that aggressive.

Did I post this already? Anyway, I may have touched on a few of these recently... - Cylon D'Anna, played by Lucy Lawless, will return midseason for two or three episodes and would be a part of a pivotal moment in the series that will effect the season's second half. - The identity of the fifth and final Cylon will be revealed late in the series, maybe even the final episode. - Lots of Adama-Starbuck conflict will drive this season, especially the first episode. - Baltar's arc will be "shocking and thrilling" and he hasn't had many scenes with Number Six this year. - Moore is hoping to bring back lawyer Romo Lampkin from the season three finale. -…

“Ripper,” a Rupert Giles-centric BBC project Joss Whedon has been talking about since the fifth season of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” may yet manifest. Speaking at a Dark Horse Comic Con event in San Diego Saturday, Whedon says he now hopes to launch “Ripper” as a 90-minute BBC movie in 2008. In the current Whedon-masterminded "Buffy: Season Eight" comic-book series, Giles is busy training a platoon of vampire slayers. Hopefully the new project will acknowledge this?

Ok, not exactly a new film, came last year. But since I was not around much here when I first heard about it, I figured I'd make up for that now. It is friggin awesome. I'd say this movie can stand proudly next to films like Wallace & Gromit. As IMDB puts it, Four stoners, five vegans, three mobsters, four hunters and a million reasons to free one junkie elephant... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0298337/ Heh, must be the first time in my life I advertize something norwegian *g*

There is only one word I think can truelly define this movie.. Wow. Vissually, its out there. And just as a fair warning, the movie Is Rated R for containg nudity... (As well as what appears to be sex?) :P Heres what the back of the thing says about the movies plot. "Born with an acute sense of smell, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) Resorts to dark deeds in creating a perfume that captures the essence of a woman in this 18-century thriller based on Patrick Suskind's best-selling novel. The Disturbing intensity mounts as Baroque-born Grenouille's obsession to create the ultimate scene moves from innovation to murderous aberration. Alan Rickman co-stars…

I woulda posted this Wednesday during the 2 hour sony festival at E3, but I was gone for a day and a half at a funeral, and I'm shocked at the lack of ps3 love at seanchan! :P Anyways, looks like the PS3 is getting the following games. Warhawk Lair Heavenly Sword Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune The Eye of Judgment PAIN Echochrome SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation SingStar Haze Unreal Tournament Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots All of the above are 'exclusive' or 'timed Exclusive' (aka, MGS4 is exclusive atm, while Unreal Tournament is timed, 'pc/ps3, but 360 will get it like 6 month…

Is anybody watching this? Probably not. It's not anything I thought I would watch or even thought about. But last week I had it on in the background at the house and although it was kind of a boring show, it did have me intrigued enough to leave it on and actually attempt to watch this week. Especially because Tyler Florence was trying to come up with a school menu for about $1/kid. That's a HUGE challenge! Anyways, I think the show's winding down to some sort of finale now and I didn't see what the kids looked like at the beginning, but watching where they are now and what they're saying I wish I had watched it from the beginning. The show is more of a documen…

It's time for Arnold Schwarzenegger to utter those immortal words one more time – "I'll be back!' Fox is debuting their new action series, "The Sarah Connor Chronicles." "300's" Lena Headey plays the title character, which is an origin franchise for her role – before her Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines demise. The series picks up after "T2"; Sarah and John Connor find themselves as fugitives from the law, and are running from their enemies. Now all the fans are hoping writer and executive producer Josh Friedman can deliver the goods from the film series. "When we first started this, people said, 'This takes place between T2 and T3.' As far as I'm concerned, t…

Man, I loved the movie Return to Witch Mountain as a kid. I mean you have the hermonica playing boy that makes things dance and the girl... she had some special power that was awesome. This and Cloak and Dagger were two of my favorite childhood movies. Source: JewReview.net July 23, 2007 On Sunday, it was revealed that Andy Fickman will direct Witch Mountain for Disney. JewReview.net caught up with the helmer to talk about his new project. Here's a clip: Is he ready to take on the challenge? "I ask myself that everyday; I respond to material. I'm a huge UFO buff, I'm a huge paranormal buff; these are the movies I grew up loving. I think it's always t…

A legal thriller from writer-producers Todd & Glenn Kessler (“The Sopranos”) about a law-school grad who finds herself caught up in a new firm and a case that could get those closest to her killed, “Damages” might be the best series ever offered up by FX. And as much as I love AMC’s “Mad Men,” “Damages” is also probably the best new show of the summer. Probably. We’ve only seen the first two episodes, but they’re plenty propulsive, and full of the kind of confidence certain to carry many if not most through its first season’s 13 installments. “Damages” will remind many of “Murder One,” because it’s enormously compelling and because it deals with a singl…

.... is going to come out on the Wii!!!! I can't wait! I refuse to buy a PS3 (to me it is just a ripoff), and I don't want to pay for a 360, and the Wii is awesome and priced well, AND I can still play Guitar Hero!

OK, so I don't know how many of us here are Wii-diculously cool enough to be nintendo fans, but there has to be a few. I mean when the Wii is outselling PS3 3-1 world wide, and 6-1 in Japan, you've got to have done something right. My library (so far) is Super Swing Golf (8/10) Mario Party 8 (9.5/10) Zelda (haven't played enough to rate yet) Wii Play (6/10) as well as a few classics off the virtual console The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. (NES and SNES vers.) StarFox 64, and Super Mario 64. Oh, and I have a Mii of the Doctor who rocks!!
