  3. Go here: http://woobox.com/vck223 (It takes you to Facebook) and vote for my picture. I'm holding a sword and standing in front of the "Educator of the Year" background. I've got a brown shirt on. If you don't know anything about me other than JordanCon, I work at a very small private school for kids with autism spectrum disorders. This would be really awesome for my students, so pretty please, vote for me. Thanks!

Im posting here for two reasons. One! I do not have the patience to patrol and peruse the siggy board for work. I have things to do... people to see.... last battles to prep for ;) Two! I am entirely biased towards my tower peeps and only make sigs for them >.> And bonus reason C. Because we have Waffles! XD

So I do not know about the rest of y'all. But I have songs, that everytime I hear them. Remind me of people I care about, that tell me memories of loved ones. Stories of times with them, that I will always cherish. Songs that tell of my love for others, and how I feel. This is one such song, its a song that reminds me of one of my closest friends. Someone I care for deeply, and it always shall. Now I invite you to share your own songs, songs that do these very things for you.

I have probably whined about this before, but it really really REALLY gets my goat when people call me by half my name, instead of my whole name. I don't mean people I know who're close to me who give me a pet name, I mean complete strangers or business contacts who do that right off the bat. My name is Laura-Gene. With a hyphen. I sign my emails and letters like that, but a huge number of people will call me Laura in their replies. I frigging HATE that! Not to mention the clients (mostly tenants, but some owners too) who can't be bothered to remember my name (or my boss's, for that matter!) and will call us just any old thing. I mean for crying out loud, all they hav…

Have you ever wondered why some things are, even though they're stupid and easily rectified? Let me give you an example: Mince meat / Ground beef (or any kind of meat). What do most recipes call for? 371 grams? No! Recipes would be for round figures, like 500 grams or 1kg (1/2 a pound, or whatever). Have you ever seen a packet of mince / ground beef that's exactly that? I haven't. It's always some random amount. How frigging hard can it be to make sort of equal weight packets? Or are they deliberately giving you stupid sized ones? If you need 500 grams, you have to buy two packets that come to about 700 grams, which obviously cost you more. Stupidity, …

  14. Are you guys hiding them, or something? What's wrong with you people?? I just spent 4 hours trawling up and down your west coast looking for ports, and found only about 3 or 4 places north of Perth! This is me stopping off every few 100k trying to find something: Just to clarify: I was helping my sister with research for her book.

I don't know when I changed into such a cold, cold-hearted guy... I have to thaw this frozen, icy, lonely heart of mine. I like being wrapped with warmness more than anything else for sure, I'm gonna take my coming days and fill them with laughter and joy. I let myself down by being crueler than I thought I would be. I'm just a loser learning to care for the soul inside of me, I don't give my heart to no one, cause I don't want to waste my time. I've tried to love this loneliness to slip out from where it hides... Sorrow is a word I hate, but it's growing my sensations. Regrets taught me how to make any hard decisions. Peace is always by my side, but I've …

(I copied this over from the Tinker's Craft Wagon, so you can see what I'm working on) Over the weekend, my sister Mavin and I were shopping at Joann Fabrics and she brought up the idea of doing a Ajah quilt. Her idea--and I give her full credit--was to do long strips, each in the color of the Ajahs. So, while there, we looked at fabric choices. We decided to choose a patterned fabric in each color that helped represent the Ajah, or our own view of the Ajah. This is what we got: First, I want to preface this with a warning that the lighting in my house is awful! Some of the colors look WAY off! Blue Ajah: (yes, this is blue) I love the pattern of t…

When Great Trees Fall When great trees fall, rocks on distant hills shudder, lions hunker down in tall grasses, and even elephants lumber after safety. When great trees fall in forests, small things recoil into silence, their senses eroded beyond fear. When great souls die, the air around us becomes light, rare, sterile. We breathe, briefly. Our eyes, briefly, see with a hurtful clarity. Our memory, suddenly sharpened, examines, gnaws on kind words unsaid, promised walks never taken. Great souls die and our reality, bound to them, takes leave of us. Our souls, dependent upon their nurture, now shrink, wizened. Our minds, formed …

The other day I downloaded the so-called free version of Avast antivirus. Somehow, without me wanting it, it also downloaded a trial version of its "normal" version. This expired after 30 days on Tuesday, and said I could either buy the full version, or pick "uninstall". I picked "uninstall", which then hung my system for about 4 hours, supposedly "uninstalling" itself. My internet died. My sister's able to connect with no issues from her laptop (to the same router & all), but I have only "limited access", whatever that might mean. I couldn't get it to reconnect for love or money (we're both wireless). In desperation, I ran CC Cleaner to clear the system, …

The super fresh local markets that seem to be all over the world except for here. Where you buy all your food just hours after it was harvested or caught or slaughtered and cut up (not always though!). I'd kill to live someplace like that. Makes me almost seriously consider leaving the country. :D Can you tell I watch food shows on tv? ;)
