Ok guys, I'm really sorry to bug you, but I'm helping my bro with some history work on the first universities in England to receive the Royal Charter. A few universities claim they were the first ones: can anyone find a document or link that strongly supports one of the older universities' claims? Thanks in advance :D

I'm trying to put together something for a homeschool project for Wolfie. We're studying the American Colonies, and when we got the the Pilgrims on the Mayflower, we got stopped by something. We can't seem to find out anywhere how many people were on the voyage? Can any of you find it? I'd sure appreciate the help!

Okay, ladies and gents, it is time to start this little guessing game ;) I took the names of all the brave souls that signed up for this game (and ed) and I've compiled couples. I had them do the nasty (in the most pg-13 way, I assure you) and BAM, we got tiny ickle loud babies. YOUR JOB is to match parents to babies. Both people that signed up and didn't can guess. The only condition is that you must match ALL the babies to ALL the parents. For people that signed up: The person who gets the most matching right will be given an AMAZING tribute. For people that didn't sign up: You will win a siggy award. To give you a bit of a fighting chance I've deci…

I am currently doing a Social Studies project at school about how modern technology has changed the way that we interact with other people. At the moment I am focussing on the massive impact social networking sites like FB have had on us. Anyway, I was hoping that one of you could tell me what the average number of 'friends' is that users have on Facebook? Thanks :)

Guys, I really hate to bug you, but I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere: who sponsored the bill that became Australia's first ever money laundering statute?? Its for something I'm working on and I can't use any more firm resources to find the answer, and google is being a jerk about this. I'm hoping an actual aussie could look this up for me somewhere. It would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, what luck! I am the Mistress of Novices for a week, and I would like all of my Novices to come and post here. And you know what, anyone who enters this thread will be a Novice until this event is over! I am fed up with all of you slackers ;) The White Tower is in SHAMBLES! *wiper her finger along the top of a bookcase and it comes up black with dust* Look at this! I think I need a couple of cleaning teams of Novices, and perhaps a team to help in the kitchens! Disclaimer: I promise this will be fun, come pull some pranks on the poor temorary MoN, or each other, make a mess, then clean it up! Aes Sedai, Accepted, Novices, Algai, Manshima, Der'Manshima, anyo…

Okie dokey, we are going to talk about bondage – NO – get your mind out of the gutter, bondage as per the bonding between Aes Sedai and their warders and also Aes Sedai and Asha’man. We see quite a few examples of bonding throughout the Wheel of Time, probably the most referenced being the bond between Moiraine Sedai and al’Lan Mandragoran, the bond between Elayne Trakand and Birgitte Silverbow, and later, the bond between Rand al’Thor, Elayne Trakand, Min Farshaw and Aviendha. As we know, the bonding gives the Warder the ability to sense his Aes Sedai, to have knowledge of her location, her physical condition and her emotional state at any given time, the abili…

Hello one and all. I have been taking a good look around (no I haven't :P) and I have noticed that there is not enough Green Ajah Pride! That being said I plan to make some changes for the better around here, but I will need your help! First off from this day forward we will show our Green Ajah Pride by making it mandatory for all Aes Sedai and Aspirants of the Green to post in no other colour than Green! In all of your posts, anywhere on DM (unless it is strictly forbidden) you must use green lettering! Any Novices are welcome to join in the Green text invasion too so don't feel left out! I will be making more additions when I think of other things you can do…

Same rule, you can't vote for yourself, but any other WT member is fair game! Pankhuri will be in charge of this thread and keeping track of the votes, and she can make little rules, but I'm going to assume that you guys will treat her well ;) Here you go Pankhuri! <3 OH! And the winner gets a sig made by our very own Limi! ;D

I'm really upset. I was walking home from work when a lady was coming toward me pushing a stroller and her little girl was a bit behind her. She turned around to scream at her kid to hurry up, so her kid started running. She musta been about 2. She had a binky in her mouth. Then the lady turns to scream at her again just as the kid is running past her mom and right into me. I move to the side a bit. (Narrow sidewalk, plus lady's stroller = not much room.) But still the girl sideswipes me a bit. Nothing like smacking into my pregnant belly. Just a small brush. So, I didnt say anything. Kept walking. The lady yells at her kid to watch where she's going and the n…

*ignore if you don't want to hear a long Alanna venting-session* Okay, so what's the big dang deal? I'm TRYING, shouldn't that count for something? Shouldn't you appreciate me for what I'm doing not put it down and wish for more? Why must you always compare me to others? Am I the type of person you always expect to be a disappointment? I'm graduating, be happy, I'm a great student with a high rank, be happy, I'm in choir and theatre, doing stuff I love, be happy, I've finally got a job lined up, be happy. Please, don't compare me to others' failures because I swear to you I won't make those mistakes. I know you think I'm stupid, but that's not the case. I try so hard…
