I've volunteered to teach a cooking class as an elective next fall. A cooking class. Knives. Hot stoves. Highly impulsive middle schoolers with behavior disorders. I'm going to get stabbed, aren't I?

May is the Month of the Greats in the White Ajah. Come one, come all and celebrate with us! The celebration will include discussions and a game. The schedule of events is as follows: Week 1: Greats of Philosophy, Theology, and the Humanities (May 4-10) Week 2: Greats of the Biological, Physical, and Social Sciences (May 11-17) Week 3: Closing Game (May 18-24) For the closing game, people can pick a hero, come dressed as that hero, and interact with each other as their heroes. We will pretend this is a meeting of heroes that transcends time and space, so that everyone can talk to each other. The fun begins Sunday night, May 4th!

Myst asked me to post this, since it was my idea in the first place, and also because she is struggling to get on DM: There has been a lot of discussion about the road forward for the Red Ajah on DM (Org), and one of the things discussed is that we would like to tie in with the WoT books more. To that end it has been decided that Red Sisters (and Brothers) may in future only bond members of the Black Tower. All current bonds will be honored, but there will be no more bonding members of the Warders Guild in the future (unless they are BT members, of course). Staffy's 30th B-day is on April 28th. Saturday April 26th we are celebrating by going to the Southern California Renaissance Faire. You need to come! LOL ....if at all possible? It's fun! I will be there too! ....isn't that enough of an incentive? ;D

I'll try to be on as much as I can, but yeah. Sometime in the next couple of days I'm going to start my new position in a new city. As soon as I get settled down I'll be back full time again :)

So this is going to be a weird question but i'm hoping that someone who is smarter about computers then me can help. LOL I'm trying to play a game with a friend. It says that I can use his IP address to hook up to his computer and connect I suposse and play the game. Anyway every time I put the IP address his computer gives him it tells me that it "cannot connect to server." So we tried him connecting to my IP and it told him the same thing. I know doing this kind of thing works because my brother has connected before and played a two player game with a friend of his but neither of us can figure out what we are doing wrong...anyone got any ideas? LOL

So I'm trying hard to lose some weight. After years of hoping it'll all go away if I just ignore it long enough it would go away by itself (what?? It worked with my brother when we were younger!) I have now joined a gym and after about four months is starting to see some results. However, I have come to a bit of a rough patch now where I feel like nothing is helping, especially for the fat around my stomach area. And so I figured I should turn to you, oh wisest of all friends, and ask if you have any good ideas. Or just good weightloss ideas in general. I'm sure there must be some fonts of wisdom out there. =)

I have a dilemma. I've decided to get 2 kittens, and I have even chosen their names. The grey boy is to be named Smog (many nickname possibilities have already come to me), and the girl...well, I can't get the name "Matilda" out of my head!! Unfortunately there is a character on this stupid Australian TV show called Home and Away, whose name is Matilda (apparently). I haven't watched the show in ages so I didn't know there was a Matilda. Today is Scott Lynch's birthday (and if you don't know who he is, I can tell you he is the author of the amazingly brilliant Lies of Locke Lamora + Red Seas Under Red Skies) and I decided that it was time to find out how many people around here have read these books? Me, I'm what you may call a huge huge fan. In fact, since Harry Potter stopped I have pretty much figured out that The Gentleman Bastard Sequence (which is the official title of the whole series) is my new favorite bookseries.
