ok, tomorrow morning I will be going on a camping trip with my family until Sunday afternoon. however, I won't be back until maybe Tuesday because I have to go with the FFA (Furure Farmers of America) for a State Competition at LSU; we're leaving Monday afternoon and I'm not soo sure if I could get on the computer between sunday and monday afternoon. Anyhoo, I'm going to be in the Dairy Products division of the Competition and having to taste defects in milks and ID cheeses against all of Louisiana! We have to win 1st to go on to Nationals, so wish me (and my teammates Brooke, Judy, and Chris) good luck! We'll need a lot of it, lol

Today, at Community Circle, we had a special announcement. Our school won a competition to collect the most soda cans for recycling. The prize is a visit from Sea World. The teacher in charge of the project told us today that they'd come next week and one of the animals they would show is an American alligator. One of my boys, the extreme duuuude, who walks around muttering, "I like swords.", turned to me and said "Mrs. Liang, I have a question." I looked at him and said, "No, you may not wrestle the alligator." "Oh maaaaaan!" I love my students.

Many of you know me. Many of you do not. However, I've been around DM for 7 years now (just missed my anniversary a couple months ago) and I've seen a lot of changes. I've never left, never had an LoA, but I know I've been mostly AWOL lately. For those who know me, you know I've been a master's student in engineering, well, almost the entire time I've been a member here. The time has come, I've finally, f'ing finished the thing. I was done with my classes 4 years ago, but I was dragging my feet on my research and thesis. here is the file that I put people's info in when they had been Raised to Aes Sedai. This is all the people Raised during my time as MoN (and Kyn's time as temp MoN in 2004) which spanned a few years. Doesn't really seem like that many considering it was YEARS. But still, a lot of people come and go. :) If you were Raised during my time you should find your info there! :) It might be fun for Ajahs to do some homework on their fellows too *S*

Scenario: A kiddy stands on a railway track and throws his pingpong ball at an oncoming train. The train is moving at 100 km/h. Ignoring complicating factors like airflow and air resistance, what happens when the ball hits the train? The train obviously gives the ball a fair old wallop and the ball goes flying away. But when you think about it, the pingpong ball is going in one direction. To bounce off, it would have to stop when it hits the train's windshield and then bounce away. Because the ball stops, do you agree that the train must also stop? :shock: If not, what does actually happen to the train?

My nephew needs some good, Reliable sources for an essay he's doing for school. As the resident heathen in my family, my sister came to me for help. However, my knowledge of Norse Mythology is limited to the small involvement I had in a seminar of the subject right here on Dragonmount as a novice. So if anyone has any Reliable sources (preferably internet based as those are free) they can share on the subject, I'd be very grateful. The only info I was given on the subject of his paper is Norse cosmology. He's in the 10th grade, so I imagine sources will be a big deal. Thanks,

I've been reading WoT since I was about 11 or 12. That was back in '92. I think "The Shadow Rising" had just come out in hard back, so "The Fires of Heavan" was the first book I had to wait for. I remember my mom surprising me when I was 15 or 16 with "A Crown of Swords" and then being pissed because the first chapter was a rehash of Dumai's Wells. Usually I like or at least understand Jordan's decisions as a writer, but that one still baffles and annoys me. Recently, one of my students has started reading WoT. He's still at the VERY begining.
