I’m going to fire a bunch of questions which may or may not be partly related to a story plot I have going in my head. They may appear completely random and unrelated, but I’m a sucker for background details. 1. Serenia Latar, was the Amyrlin that was killed and hung by the Children of the Light. But are there any further details to what actually happened that led to her death? 2.Around 300NE, what was the darkfriend ratio amongst organisations such as The White Tower as well as The Children of the Light? 3.What was the approximate number of Children of The light in 300NE? 4.Has anyone tried to lead a Rebellion/ Coup in Amadicia? 5.Who was the lord Captain comma…

Seheria picked absentmindedly at strings hanging loose in her dress as she stared into the flames rising and falling in the small fireplace in her rooms in the Yellow ajah. She could feel the cabin fever setting in around her. It seemed as the walls of the room that should have been her sanctuary were closing in on her. Though this room had never truly given her much comfort, save for the first night she slept in it when she was truly accepted as a sister of the Yellow Ajah. But that was years ago now, and she couldn't remember the last time she truly felt thrilled to hold that title. The more she saw the world for what it was, the more her horizons opened up to her, the…

Alright guys, life has been.... tumultuous for the month of July. A move, a revolving door of guests coming in and out, a sickness, and some other personal crap has kept me away and out of it for a bit. Things seems to have settled back down ... I hope.... so I should catch up real soon. Maurelle, I know you're waiting on me so I'll get on those posts first.

Taia knew that it was time, she brushed her hair till it shown bright and then she braided it. Today was the day that Reki would meet the Green Ajah head. It had been awhile since she had to go through this ritual, the last time Jaydena had made her warders smile, they weren't put off by Aes Sedai although Jade had tried to make them a little intimidated. It hadn't worked quite that well though, Taia had already taken them to the Blight, not much would scare a man after that. Taia wondered what the new Head of the Ajah would do, she didn't know her well, not that she'd known Jade well either, Jade had just been the Head longer. Taia sighed and stood, stretched and then pi…

As part of the program Master Kilrin had decided on to boost morale and improve training, Visar had a few trainees and guards he was goong to coach. Group classes were more efficient to train a large group of people, but the dropout rate was extreme, and the Guard needed more members. It was either change the way you trained, or lower the standards, and neither Visar nor Kilrin would have the latter spoken about with broken teeth to the offender. If they were lucky. Instead, the weed out started right away; if trainees could not pass the fitness courses, which under Kilrin's supervision had become a real gauntlet of pain and misery, they usually went home on their own…

Hey, everyone. Some of you know me from before..and I've tried to come back to rp here a few times. Sadly it never really seem to work all the way...real life can be an evil boss at times. I'm Jozan, or maybe if someone somehow remembers the name Mordak way back in 2001 hehe that I highly doubt though. Anyway, am pondering the idea of returning with a totally new and if so with a bad ass character. I have mostly played good guys/girls ;) No more I say, no more..hehe I had a thought of creating an insane wanderer that meets someone from the black tower..by chance of course. And they notice that he can actually channel but they have to find a way to either convi…

Rasheta and Visar were walking through Tar Valon, he had convinced her to join him at a tavern for a drink. She didn’t usually drink too much these days, she supposed she had gotten harder over the years rather then softer. She missed her more carefree days, yet she didn’t at the same time. She had things that needed doing, she also stood ready for the Last Battle, and that took lots of pratice with her sisters in weaves. Visar squeezed her arm and she realized she’d been ignoring him and he’d asked her a question. She paused and asked, “What did you say?” He smiled at her and repeated his comment. “You are too lost in thought Aes Sedai here is the tavern.” She nodded…

Madoc had been in the practice courtyard all day long, he had spent most of the day working on his archery as it had always been the worst of his weapon skills and he need it to improve so he could better fight the Shadowspawn that threatened the Aiel in what seemed like ever increasing frequency. The last two had been only a couple of months apart and that was troubling when there were times in recent memory when the Hold, even as close to the blight as they were, could go years without seeing even one group of Trollocs in the blight. He was winding down his day with some spear and buckler sparring with his uncle and since they were the last pairing of the day they had t…

“Rhya! Do you know where Owen is?” the call, pitched to carry across the open expanse in front of the Infirmary, came from Aislyn and halted Rhya’s progress abruptly. It seemed the bow practice she was intent on would have to wait a while longer. Aislyn’s voice held no hint of urgency but with a Sage you simply never could tell, so Rhya wasted no time in changing course. Her long legs covering the intervening distance quickly, she spoke as she reached the foot of the Infirmary steps,”He was training as usual this morning but I expect he’ll be dealing with some of those mountains of paperwork on his desk at the Barracks by now. Would you like me to take him a message?” …

Liana had been dozing off during a lesson about herbs with a yellow sister named Alya Sedai, a very calm and gentle soul, and Alya Sedai seem to like Liana and usually had many questions for her. And she sometimes even asked her to accompany the sister to her chambers for one-on-one conversations about Saldaea, Liana’s life, and her nobility. Liana was pleasantly surprised the first time the sister had approached her after class about Liana’s past and why her mother allowed her to be tested and then sent to the tower. But this day Liana was very tired and told Alya Sedai “I’m sorry, Alya Sedai but if you don’t mind I’d like to get some rest, I am exhausted after working t…

Kira headed to the classroom. She had taught a reading class for a novice, and was called upon to teach it again. This time, however, her student was training to be a warder. Kira was given the name of the student - Tywin. Tywin was from Andor, and Kira wasn't told what brought the student to Tar Valon. Kira was interested though. It would be the first time she was meeting a warder to be. Kira took the primer out of her back along with a pen, some paper, and some ink. She set it down on the other side of the table. With her previous student, Kira had sat next to her, but Kira had spent some extra time preparing the lesson today, because she thought that sittin…

OOC: I wasn't entirely sure how to play this, so I just started writing and this is what came out. lol I hope it works for you. :) IC: Ariani swore loudly, and everything that had been on her desk went flying across the room. "Have you no respect for other people's things?!" she yelled at the door, although she knew that no one was on the other side to hear it. "Move my things, will you," she grumbled and then yelled again, "I could have done this myself!" She was very much aware that she was currently throwing a temper tantrum, but the thought of someone else moving around her belongings, undoing hours of careful organization just made her blood b…

The ink was barely dry on the letter to her father letting him know just where his wayward daughter had ended up, when she was rushed into a room full of dresses of every shape and size. Under the critical eye of a sharp faced Tower servant she stripped out of her comfortable green dress, narrow tan apron, and stockings. Then there ensued a kind of tug of war about the green headscarf. "Would you hand me the head scarf?" the servant had a high pitched voice that was rapidly getting on Erlene's nerves. So much had happened in such a short amount of time they were strung abnormally tight and the idea of having to give up the symbol of her womanhood and respectability as…

Hi everyone, First off, sorry for not being around as much. Life's been crazy these last weeks and today I'm receiving Kara who will be visiting for the next two weeks so I won't be around during her stay here either. I'm planning on increasing my time again afterwards but as most of you may know I'm trying to balance out quite a lot of things at the moment (like three training programs with work and a strict dietary program on top of household work) and it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be to fit everything in and still have time left for fun stuff. Most of the time I fall down in front of the tele, notice only a portion of what I'm watching and haul my e…

.. Caught between Moments .. ►▼◄ Elessar Telcontar, bonded Warder and veteran Gaidin of many years, was lost in a Dance of the Blade. A soft northern breeze blew through the Warders Yard that morning as the Borderlander went through the forms. In the calmness of the Void, the Gaidin felt detached from the world around him as he moved with experience and assurance. The sword was a part of him as he leapt to strike, bent to defend, went high and then low, moving from one form into another, slicing through the air with his blade and moving with agility and swift footwork to get his imaginary opponent off balance. He stopped for a moment, catching his brea…

"Calder Berrick is in the Panarch's palace." Jehryn's simple report caused a ruckus among the gathered representatives of the Band's incursion teams. They had gathered in the inn of one of the Band's agents in the city, which had somehow survived the Seanchan invasion and subsequent squelching of outbound intelligence. The survival of this safe haven was one of the only bright spots for the Band in the city. Questions immediately flew through the air, each trying to ascertain the accuracy of the scarred man's findings. Mehrin remained silent. Though he and Jehryn had had a falling-out during the march to Tanchico, he knew enough to know that he was trustworthy. …

Edana rolled her shoulders back as she walked through the gates of the Tower and into Tar Valon. She hadn't let herself get out very much, lately, and she'd felt the tension of always being on duty tightening her shoulders. Most of the Guards she knew were long gone, bonded or dead in some fool's errand or another. She'd thrown herself so deep into working, training, and guard duty that she'd fallen into her bed every night too exhausted to think about the friends she'd lost or the man who'd left her. No matter that it was her fault he was gone. She pushed that thought away, like she did so often these days, and walked through the doors of a tavern that teemed with p…

Lewin yawned as he walked down the dirt path from the barracks towards the training yards. His jaw cracked as he raised a fist to stifle the yawn, but even so his eyes closed while he inhaled deeply. It seemed no matter how much sleep he managed to get each night he still woke up exhausted. It had only been a week since he'd arrived at the Tower, and thus far his training was proving tougher than he expected. His muscles ached with soreness, his hands raw from climbing ropes and other obstacles for what seemed like hours on end. He rolled his shoulders, finding them stiff, and crunched along the path with reddened eyes. He had signed up for this, after all, but he fou…

So, it seems I forgot that Tywin can't read. We don't need illiterate warders or tower guards, so who wants to help him learn to read? Keep in mind, this is to take place after he gets caught stealing from an Aes Sedai, so I image there may be those resenting the fact that he is even still there and people watching him with open suspicion. My goal is to have him both learn to read and work through dealing with the level of hostility aimed at him.

Coraman came out of her stretch slowly just as Tywin stepped up to her. "Have a good break?" She smirked, she knew all too well what trainees and guards liked to do on their off days. "Come, let's get started on basic movements." They headed towards the lathe rack and she motioned towards the different sizes and shapes, "Pick whatever feels right for you. We'll switch them out if you realize it's not working and once you find it, we'll head to the armory later to get you stocked with weapons." ooc: I know you wanted to do short blades, go ahead and pick out a lathe fitting the size and weight that you think you'd like.

So we've had a request for a Novice to train a warder in reading. An Accepted has also offered to help out. It would go more with our timeline to have the Accepted train and it would be permissible according to book lore. The Novices are under strict protection so I'm really against a novice having any interaction with the Warders yard without a super good reason.

Kathleen woke to the sun shining in through a window, illuminating the room she found herself alone in. "This is becoming far too much of a habit" she whispered, testing her vocal chords. The words scratched her dry throat but they came. Throwing back the blankets she drew herself from the bed and set to her morning routine of making her bed, washing up and dressing. As she walked past the desk in her sitting room she absently reached for the music box she kept there. It wasn't until her fingers found it that she recalled dropping it the day before. She had tried it then to see if it still played, but it hadn't. She had gone to bed before her warder though and he did…

(ooc: this takes place after Aekold's intro thread) Having acquainted Aekold with the yards and scheduling some regular lessons for him with a Tower Guardswoman, Visar returned to the Master of Arms office the next day, her office door key in his hands, and not a little anxiety in his heart. She said they would need to talk, and he had waited a night to do so. She would not like that, but he did not only owe allegiance to her. Did he owe allegiance to her? She wasn't his Aes Sedai, and he barely knew Master Kilrin anyway. He didn't trust her, and he doubted she trusted him after their first impression of each other. That cocked eyebrow, that laughing amused s…
