Corridor after corridor; staircase after staircase the routes which contained the lifeblood of the White Tower stretched on. Yet these complex webs of passages paled in comparison to the webs spun by the women who walked them daily. There were more secrets here than stars in the sky. Some were so small it was stupid to keep them secret. Others could bring about the political downfall of another. Politics drove the Tower. Here betrayal gave way for alliance; a downfall meant a conquest. There were more secrets in these hallways than stars in the sky. Some of those were harmless, others fatal. There were a few which seemed nearly pointless to keep hidden while othe…

The rain streamed down, crashing to the ground. The track was now nothing but mud, but that was what could be seen. Most of it was hidden under the puddles that often merged together to create a fast flowing stream. The clouds were moving quickly and there was no sign of even the smallest let up, if anything ahead was even darker than behind. Every once and a while there would be a flash of light in the distance, creating silver flashes in the clouds above, allowing edges to be seen in the normally black never ending sky. The surrounding area was sparse and held little shelter on this day, and the only thing to look forward to was the woods in front of him. Even in there …

For five weeks, Willaem Mozelei had ridden through the countryside, spending working during the day, spending the night in the barn or if he was lucky a spare room, then riding on, further and further from home. Occasionally he would stop at a village inn, and would try to find the wherabouts of this Red Tower. Eventually he found himself in a secluded part of Andor, known as the Two Rivers. As he approached the Red Tower, his heart beat faster and faster. He had traveled so far already! He could hardly believe that he, Willaem Mozelei, was traveling alone, through a distant country, signing up for an army he knew nothing about. And it had been little more than a mon…

Jaydena walked down toward the gardens, she saw people staring at her and she didn't care, she knew it wasn't because of her clothing. Today she wore an actual Andorian dress. Green with a square neck, and tight sleeves down to the wrists. Embroidered roses climbed across the bodice and hem in a torrent of color. Her long auburn hair lay in a cascade of curls down her back and ended at the curve of her backside. A ruby and emerald necklace made to resemble roses and leaves wound it's way around her neck and the matching earring dangled from her ears. No they stared at the mask she wore across her face, it wasn't something you normally saw in your day to day life and most …

  5. “Will you taste the punch, Mother?” It being improper for an Amyrlin to get her hands dirty, however much she might remember numerous kitchen chores as a novice, Sirayn had kept her involvement in organising the ball to a minimum; she had simply picked out a tremendous disused ballroom and adjacent dining room in the Tower’s heart and delegated the hard labour to the Mistress of the Kitchens. An army of kitchen servants had been marshalled in record time and set to work. They had swept floors, cleaned out cobwebs, polished the rich wood panels to a bright gleam and furnished the dining room with row upon row of fine oak tables. Decorations had required at least he…

Miria blinked as she tried to focus on the tankard in her hands. Her eyes were bleary, her vision blurry, and her limbs seemed unable to obey her mind's commands. Perhaps it was time to call it a night. Right after she finished this drink. Tipping it up, she sculled the contents, finishing with a satisfied sigh before standing on extremely unsteady legs. They must obviously be sleep from sitting no long. She only had one or two drinks, didn't she? Trying to count the mugs rocking back and forth on the table only made Miria queasy, so she gave up with a shrug and a lopsided grin. "Thanksh for the drinks Dr..dr..drea." Miria stumbled over the words as her hands on the …

How was she supposed to tell Kedyn? Worry creased Miria's brow. She had lingered in the bathroom that morning, longer than she needed, because she didn't know how to break the news to Kedyn. She was not pregnant. After days of uncertainty, she finally knew for sure that she was not pregnant. But curse the creator, she had actually grown used to the idea in the mean time. They could make it work. Their child would have a loving home, loving parents. No matter what else, their would be love. But that was all gone now, cruelly dashed away by her discovery that morning. She was relieved, yes, but not so much as she was upset at how Kedyn would take the news. He had wanted…

The question of home once more raced around Aleeza’s mind. She had had many homes and none, yet why did this place seem to fit the word better than any other? It had been years since she had been anywhere near here and had been in fact avoiding the region. Now, she could not keep herself away any longer and despite her suspicious nature towards other humans- the Kin were not exempted for this- she had learned to crave human contact over the last year’s, and those preceding it, solitude. Not that she had been cut off from interaction with wolves. She had tried to banish them from her mind in the beginning, the first few years after she had faked her own suicide and le…

It's been brought to my attention that there are rumours abounding that I have either quit as DL of the WT, or am about to quit as DL of the WT. I'd like to take this opportunity to tell everybody that this is not the case. I have no idea where these rumours have come from, and I don't really care where they've come wrong. I have not quit as staff, and I currently have no intention of doing so. So let's have no more of it, please?

Thats right folks. This RP is just around the corner, but before things get rolling, I need every Asha'man/Dedicated involved (you know who you are) to post here with your name, and the name of the Aes Sedai you will be bonding. I know there's already a few different lists floating around, so consider this a pruning of sorts. Please also make sure your Aes Sedai is still around and active, as we want to hit the ground running with this one, not have it drag along because people aren't ready. Basically, we need to know how many are going to be active in the RP we can sort out some small details.

I'm sure you'll all give him a lot of support in the coming weeks and beyond as he settles into the position. The bad news for ya'll is I'll still be around :P I've assumed the role as 'Group Leader' for the 'Peoples of the Dragon' (the combined Aiel, BotRH, BT and WK Divisions) and thus will continue to be involved with the BT as well as the other Divs in the group. If you've ever got any questions, concerns etc that can't be addressed by Covai or the Division staff, then you're wel…

Her neck ached from another night on a too-thin pillow. Dilora looked all around her while the sun filtered through the windows, fracturing into diverse beams. Dilora shifted on her cunningly wrought bed and finally tiring of it, she got up and changed into a comfortable skirt and blouse. Running the brush through her hair, she pulled it into a loose braid and looked outside. Caemlyn fields lay around her, and a lone building stood a few yards off that she had not seen when she had pulled up for the night. Only she would not have seen the ruination the farmhouse suffered in the dark. The roof had gone, the windows vanished and the walls gone to age and ivy, yet anim…

Looking for both crewman and opposition for a sea based RP. We will voyage primarily on the Sea of Storms. I will operate in the RP as Captain Gaston Waldgrave, a murdering pirate recently sworn to the Dark. It would be great if I could find some more crewmembers for the ship. Being a Darkfriend is not mandatory for the crew, as Captain Waldgrave has only recently pledged himself to the dark. This opens up interesting opportunities for roleplaying as being a follower of the light on a ship captained by a murderous darkfriend would be an interesting RP challenge. Not sure how well I explained this... any interested persons? Or questions?

Sidonie Montreve was not one for this quiet life of sitting behind a counter waiting for the Light knows how long before a customer would show up. It wasn't even her shop anyways! But still she was sitting, resting her chin on her hand and watching the door in front of her, twirling a strand of hair around her other finger. She desperately wanted to get out, to find the admirers she had managed to find in Tar Valon over the past year or so. "Sidonie! Pay attention to the store." Sidonie simply sighed again, replying to her father that she was as her thoughts drifted from this meaningless work. They hadn't had a customer all day what was she still doing here! She …

  16. Tread carefully, for you tread on me. Saline dipped into a deep curtsey, wondering what it was Tahira Sedai wanted. Best be wary. The anticipation in her room proved overwhelming for her already unsteady nerves. Smooth, cheeky Odesius had found her at the Yard during her weapons training with Lyssa, rewarding her efforts at lunging with a gleaming smile, and delivered a summons to the Aes Sedai's chambers as soon as the lesson was over. Distracted by the message, the remainder of the lesson had gone poorly. The Taraboner was unable to concentrate on forms, instead of progressing as it had earlier in the morning, her grip with the scimitar had been shamefully weak. L…

  17. Twas not easy being jealous of somebody dead. With her Tinker a few feet under the wrong side of the grass for the last decade, Saline Wastrel wanted to bite. It could have been the overcast, grey streaked sky that arched, silver fell in loose wisps of rain, fat droplets glistened where they splattered, beating the drum of the shed. Here she landed in this insignificent shack, frowning at the hay. In her Novice days, the isabella straw they brought for the other Taraboner's catapult building sessions smelt sweet, or perhaps it had been the smile on Syara's visage, beckoning to her, distracting her. A better scent, a time gone. Yes it could have been that the rain leaking …

  18. Get ahold of yourself, Beth. The gray light of predawn lazily illuminated the tiny room she had rented for the last three nights. It consisted of a cot, a small, clouded mirror, a stool that also served as a nightstand, and three wall hooks where she hung the sparse remains of her material belongings--a pair of black leggings, with a black shirt and jacket to match, each dusty from the long road to Tar Valon, a plain gray wool dress divided for riding, and a wrinkled dress of pale yellow silk. Her tools--a knife, lock picks, three vials of poisons of varying degrees of potency, and her money--a silver penny and a few coppers--were carefully hidden under a hole in the …

Lesson 1: Aes Sedai in the past: It was a red shawl that greeted the novices in silence as they filed in, and it was silence that dominated the classroom as the novices took their seats. Looking at the sheaf of paper before her, she matched faces to names with her hard sapphire eyes until she saw that everyone had arrived. Standing from her seat, she made her way to the nearest window, an ominous clink sounding through the classroom every time she stepped with her left leg though why remained a mystery as her skirt skimmed the floor as she walked. Stopping before the window, the Aes Sedai looked out the window for a moment, her raven hair flowing in a single braid …

This is the first formal initiation/introduction your character will undergo. At the end of it, your character will take the first oath, to swear to keep obedient and respectful towards higher ranked CoL. There will be a second oath to the light....but that one you'll take when you reach higher ranks. This introduction will be posted in a few days. Hopefully all of you will be done with your arrival at the fortress thread by then, but even if you haven't, that's quite fine. This introduction isn't one on one...meaning all of you new children (Abaddon, Demi, Chilli and of course myself) will take it together. Group therapy ;) The idea of this thread is to weed out …

  21. ~Rossa~ Rossa had considered Sirayn Sedai’s words all the way back to her small room shared with two other novices and tried to pick them apart for hidden meaning. There was some there, of that there was no doubt, but she was still too full of surprise for anything more to sink in. Not today. It was highly unlikely she’d be neither use nor ornament today, and it was just as well that there was only another lesson that Rossa knew inside out before the end of the day. Not even the usual spark caused by the promise of free time to go and see if Nerome was in the library, or to go and read books to see if she could glean more information about the current political cl…

Before his life had been forever changed by Saidin, when girls had been his biggest worry. Idly he wondered what might have become of this necklace had he been able to give it to her ... Shrugging against the unfamiliar novice white, Jahana was finally walking back to her room in the lower quarters of the Tower. How will I ever become an Aes Sedai, she wondered despairingly. She had gotten lost at least a dozen times in the scant three days since she had arrived here. Jahana finally recognized the novice quarters and sighed with relief. Looking foward to a quiet, if short night, she shuffled to her door. A surprise was waiting for her inside her room. A girl with long dark hair sat staring at her white dress as if she could not believe what she saw. She looked up when Jahana entered, revealing dark eyes filled with... something. Jahana couldn't…

Reveling in the clean feeling of having just bathed and changed clothes she wasn't far from sleep. The day that she had spent mucking out stalls in the stable was over. Not having the energy to even contemplate why she had been sent to the stables she quickly fell into a dreamless sleep. -- Shaking, the whole world was shaking! The last few months as her life turned around and she reentered the “real” world she was fascinated by all the things she had not seen in so long. A simple walk in the gardens or a meal at an Inn, she had strayed so far…. Her thoughts trailed off and she tried again to focus on the task at hand. The stack of papers in front of her seemed endless, but they had to be done. Slowly the stack grew smaller until Eqwina found herself filing the papers away and closing her lap desk. Esyndor wandered slowly down the Lugard streets, searching for the smithie. In the short time since he had seperated from Dilora, things hadn't gone too badly. He had contacted this Birkin fellow who, although not exactly thrilled to be investigating Andoran nobles, had agreed to help him. But he would need some time to look into matters. A few weeks, or maybe months. But Esy had already waited a year. He could wait a while longer. In the mean time, he needed something to do to occupy his time. Dilora had also given him the name of an old smith in the city, a good man she had said, who could be able to give him a respectable job at his forge. Esy was searching…

They had been in Cairhien for two weeks and it was only in the last week that Reynard had been ready to allow the Sons of Cairhien to begin ambushing Aiel patrols in the night. The Rogues had quickly assisted in this, partitioning areas and opening communication to their group to make sure they didn't overlap. The meeting with Aventari had been... well, Reynard knew of the man as did most High Seats even if they had never met him, he couldn't say he would be keen to repeat the experience. 28. Darkness began to settle over Ilian and the Perfumed Quarters and the setting sun reflected beautifully from the stinking canals and the spotlessly clean windows of three buildings along a walled courtyard. The whole complex stood out amidst its neighbours since it was in middle of a warehouse area and all the buildings and the wall were built of stone. Even without the weapon racks underneath the eaves of the buildings and on the large porch of the largest of the three buildings at the back half of the yard, anyone could have been able to deduce that it was the quarters of a militia. There were no visible guards posted since you couldn't enter the yard without notice but…

Yet in all their glory, they could not astound Alianna as much as the enormous host sitting outside the city did. Light burn her, why was there thousands upon thousands of Aiel sitting outside the city walls? It was almost as if she had traveled through time, back to her childhood. Some that trained in these yards did not realize the gravity of their place in the delicate balancing act between Light and Shadow. They were not just pawns in the creator's game.
