As the class filed in around her, Estel internalized her mirth at the irony of the situation. She was to teach this group of no doubt brilliant women, weighted down what was expected of them. Bitter laughter was once again smothered for the sake of “Aes Sedai decorum”, the very words being ironic in this particular Blue Sister’s head. Light, if these girls struggled with expectations now, how would they fare as Sisters? Would they snap as she had? Or were they made of sterner stuff? When she stood up, preparing to begin the class, she was comforted by the hush that fell over the class. Apparently her reputation preceded her and there was no need to remind them w…

So, we've got a RP with some Blue Witches coming up, and I'm wondering who wants to be in it? Maybe we could make it a der'Algai special project? :) A Clash of Interests Setting: Cairhien Time Period: About a year before Dumai’s Wells The Crime) About two months before she is arrested in Cairhien, 16 year-old Brianna Pryan flees Amador, closely pursued by the Children. She is charged with blasphemeing by touching the One Power and the murder of Roman Fliance, an officer in the Children of the Light. Brianna, a street urchin forced into prostitution by her poverty flees from one of the city’s inns. The innkeeper, the next morning, f…

With the move and everything else I'm confused. Not a suprise.. But what I would like to know, is the CoL a part of the Freelanders?? As I can have only one char in the FL div and I'm already making a Sea Folk, but was thinking of returning with my long lost CoL, Sheir Caral, or making a totally new one. But before I do either... well I need to know if I can. Thanks a bunch!

  6. It was one of those rare days when everything was right with the world, the sun was shining, and the sky was that impossible shade of blue, and Owen could just see how clear it was through the leaves on front of his window. As he lay there, contemplating the forthcoming day, a large, female, white wolf padded into the room and climbed onto the bed. Thankfully it was a large, well built bed, and Owen smiled as Ice lay down besides him, her pale blue eyes regarding him. “Yes I know Ice, there is not time to lounge here doing nothing, but it is too nice a day to be rushing about.” Later that morning, Owen emerged from his tree house and made his way to the Ranger trainin…

For all the world he felt like a peacock, and rightly so. His silk coat was a bright viridian blue, awash with a veritable sea of silver scrollwork and embroidery. The soft lace at cuff and collar forming the foam of freshly broken waves. He wore his hair in a rich, honey coloured braid down his back, tied with a black silk bow to match the equally dark silk sash wrapped around his waist. Fortunately his black breeches were, by comparison, plain, even if richly cut and sewn. They gathered just below the knee and fit snugly into snow-white socks which continued into shoes that glittered like well polished ebony with sparkling silver burnished buckles. The hadori at his bro…

It was like a déjà -vu. Back on back with his brother again, katanas bared, the ringing of cold steel clanging around them, cutting the silence that suddenly had fallen on the outskirts of the Warders Yard as though already foreboding what was to come on this quiet rainy day only the dark deep-hanging clouds casting their shadows on the lands beneath making the slopes of Dragonmount invisible shrouded in shadowy fog, only adding to the fearsome appearance of the mountain whose rising was as unnatural as the story circling around its origin. Dorian didn´t even register the now heavy rain making his clothes sudden from the light coat he was wearing to his very smallcl…

  9. ~Dilora~ Andor, and Caemlyn, lay behind them now, the gates dwindling in distant memory as the future drew them on. Open fields grew more crowded, as stands of trees worked into small forests, meandering rivers and roads the head to Lugard. Murandy. The journey had passed relatively peacefully, punctuated by birdsong and other frivolous niceties that jarred with her second morning head of the week. She really shouldn’t try to out-drink people younger than her. Dilora had a good capacity for ale, but it didn’t match her younger companion, even when she had a stomach full of good stew and sweet pastry. Wanting to make sure the lad was well fed for at least some…

Boredom. A Novice wasn’t supposed to be able to feel boredom. A Novice was supposed to relish in the minimal amount of free time she was given, not sit around staring at her porridge and wondering what in the Light she was going to do with an entire freeday ahead of her. Estel sighed. Carise was gone, so visiting with her mentor was out of the question. So far, Carise was about the only Sister Estel got along with and even then... a Red was a Red. The few friends she had used to have in her first years as a Novice had all been raised and she barely talked to them now. Randomly showing up to “hang out” would be incredibly awkward for both and would result in a…

How hard could it be to raise a family? Women had done it since the beginning of time; despite the dangers of giving birth and lack of proper medical care, despite poverty and hardship on a massive scale, despite disasters both natural and unnatural and the ravages of war, they had somehow borne enough children to sustain the population across countless centuries. All it took to bring new life into the world was a roll in the hay. Her own father had been of dubious character even for a son of House Damodred and her mother hadn’t had two coppers to rub together; if unlettered and penniless commoners like her long-ago mother could raise a child fit to become Aes Sedai, she …

“Now in your last lesson in the Dream world you were taught how to jump from place to place, but only on line of sight, tonight we are going to expand on that lesson and you are going to learn to jump to places you have been before and know well. We will start off with somewhere obvious, the stables in the Stedding.” Aleeza wrinkled her nose, slightly, at this, and Owen knew full well she was not fond of the smell of theStables, which is why he had picked the stables. “Now, the first thing you have to do is picture the stables in your mind, build up the picture until you can actually see the stables, then step into the stables. It sounds more daunting than it actually…

As well the walls of this room where lined with skulls of trollocs and other beeings, it was a room to teach biological subjects in. This latest batch of students would not be the first to be trained by him, though he preferred to keep to his library. So much knowledge stored in those tomes was wasted. It was another hot, clear day, the blue of the sky unspoilt by any sign of clouds, and the way the temperature was rising, it was obviously not going to be a day for working in the forge. But, Amon did not mind that, he was happy to get away from all the light blasted paper work and do something he loved. Working with metal had come easy to Amon, although he did not realise that, but the Smith who had been his first Master had been impressed by his ability, and the way he could work the metal. From his first Master, Amon had worked with two others, always achieving the goals they set him and then he had opened his own smithy and had forged a good reputation for his work. …

  17. The sky was cloudless but the new moon brought no light. By starlight devious deeds were done. In hushed tones and rasping whispers the tree tops spoke to each other eerily as twilight winds brushed them. Dark robes pulled tight against the cold, the young man drifted and flickered through the yards like smoke and shadow. Against the harmony of insects a distant nightingale sang out a sonorous nocturne. His breath misted in the cool, crisp air of the night. Darkness held no fear for him. He was a Child of the Light. The Creator’s hand would guide him and deliver him. His orders, the whispers, were memorised. Calen had been given his instructions in that curious way a…

  18. It had been three days from the wonderful wedding ceremony and celebration and Arette still glowed with the inner happiness of a newly wed... and a very satisfied woman. Now that glow was however dimmed by an annoyed grimace as she crawled on her hands and knees through a dog door sized Gateway that connected Helena's garden to Telcia's residence in Ebou Dar. It would be a never ending source of frustration to her that she was too weak in Spirit to Travel properly. Her demeanour brightened as she turned to look back at her daughters and urged them to walk through and come to her. At least they didn't have to bend to get through. She hugged them for a moment before closing…

Here he was now, in Ebou Dar, and only a few days ago he stood in Illian at Con and Arette's wedding. It was unfathomable. "Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asked Kit for the fifth or sixth time. She was scribbling busily in a book, so much so she'd forgotten the sandwhich he'd brought to her an hour ago, two bites taken out of the sad looking thing all dried now. So much so that Amon had sent the entire squad on a run around the outside of the Citadel, the first of them were approaching the main gate and were starting to slow down. “What do you think you are doing recruit? She did not know much about horse flesh but one animal did catch her eye. It was a well made quarter horse, the type of animal good for the light cavalry. A resplendant white mare with thick flowing mane and tail, no other color but white could be seen on her and her eyes were pink. The animal was what her uncle had once described as an albino. A great stag such as that had run the forset not far from her uncles house but her uncle never hunted the creature, he said it was to rare and special to kill. Shealyn steppe…

He placed the note on the high rock and placed a log with a flag ontop of it. Memories of the dead. His wife. The woman he met afterwards. They would never leave his dreams, forever tormenting his soul. Wraith immediately flew from his shoulder when Ayrik stepped outside the Fortress and onto the green grass that seemed to defy the surrounding Blight. Smiling, Ayrik watched the young raven circle the training compound as he descended the stairs. Handling instruction of the basics of channeling was one of the few classes that were given to Adepts, and Ayrik often chose to teach the class. It allowed him to get a feel for the new recruits, to see how receptive they'd be to his manipulations, if need be. Besides, he enjoyed being outside. It wasn't long before the new recruits began to arrive. When the last had made his appearance, Ayrik settled himself to the grou…

Sorcha would not let anyone hold her back. She supposed she did look awful young for her age. Standing just barely over five feet, she was rather slender.
