The light streaming through the windows battered against Fior's eyelids until he reluctantly awoke. Arching his back in a catlike stretch, he turned onto his side and saw that Sahra was still asleep. She must have gotten done with training late. She still hadn't returned when he had gone to sleep. Standing up and crossing the room, he splashed some water on his face and pulled on a shirt. As he stood there, watching her small frame rise and fall slowly, a slow smile spread over his face. Picking up his boots he moved towards the door as quietly as he could. Once out in the hall he put on his boots and headed outside. He was still smiling when he stepped out into the …

The Hold had never been Krachend's home. Whenever he could get away, he would disappear into the Three-fold Land. He had always felt at ease amidst the endless, sun-scorched land, the blistering heat, the dry wind, and the native creatures his only companions. It was out here that he was able to think. And as he jogged, Krachend was thinking really hard about why he had agreed to his raising as the Sovin Nai society leader. His training under Argono had not gone to waste, and he felt that he was doing a good job, but Krachend did not want to be in charge. He wanted to be in the front, giving his all. He wanted to wake from the dream in the midst of battle, not of o…

OOC: Welcome aboard! This thread is based on the rules of the game set out in this thread on the "Broken Telephone" thread on Great Hall board: http://whitetowerdiv.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6839. The sun was high in the sky by the time Carise Doraile stepped over the threshold of the dressmaker’s shop. Squinting in the sudden glare of the street, she let out the scowl that she had been keeping in with almost Herculian effort. A curious passer-by did a double-take and darted deeper into the crowd. Undaunted, she strode angrily into the stream of people, which at this hour thronged the streets like a packed school of silverfish in warm current. A small bubble opened up…

Fior smiled as he looked up in the grey light of dawn and thought back on the weeks since he had left home. The journey had taken the better part of a month and, despite the reports of trolloc patrols and Shadowmen south of the blight, the greatest trouble they had encountered was the weather. The horses kicked up enough dirt into the air that breathing was like trying to drink the ground. Though the heat beat down relentlessly, Fior remained excited about what lay ahead. Much of the days were spent in pleasant conversation with the guards his father had sent along, when he and Fiy weren’t talking anxiously about the new life they were about to begin. Each night he p…

Opal reflected on lunch, her new roommate wasn't so bad. She had made a good meal companion, she supposed. At least they hadn't picked at each other over the meal, if only the girl would see the truth about the Whitecloaks. Well that wasn't really up to Opal to point it out, she was sure these Women would set her strait. She stifled a wicked grin. Catching the dinning room door that another novice let swing back at her. "The classes aren't too bad really. They are mostly taught by these Women, a few are taught by accepted. The Accepted like to think they are almost Aes Sedia, but they aren't. They get treated the same as we do, like children." She told Sandry. O…

The sky had turned black, the dark clouds lit by frequent arcs of blue-white lightning that streaked back and forth. The pungent scent of Great Lord’s influence which pervaded this area that those lightfools called The Blight was held at bay in this disgusting patch of innocence by one of the Nym. The last of the Nym. The Green Man, they called him, the last of his kind, a hangover from the Age of Legends. The Nym’s magic may have been as old as the ground itself, but so was Saidin, and it coursed through his body, a raging torrent of pure molten power, every drop of blood in his veins turned to liquid fire. They were locked together now, a fight to the death, but th…

Although the corridor was alike to every other corridor she had seen of the Tower so far, Disendra felt as though her feet never touched the floor. She was exhausted and mentally drained, to be sure, but she was returning from her first lesson on Saidar and the things she had learnt and the conversations she had had with Estel were still merrily buzzing through her mind. Disendra thrived on knowledge, and knowledge was what she had certainly received. Which reminds me. I really must go to the Library Estel mentioned and have a rummage. All those books! Still strolling happily down the corridor, Disendra spotted what could only be another Aes Sedai coming towar…

The silence of the forest was absolute, broken only by the soft crackling of the fire and the occasional thump as snow fell heavily from the branches of the trees. Dawn was a faint promise on the horizon, one Janna was eager to meet as she huddled over her cup of tea as the others slept. The gradual lightening of the sky reminded her of the gradual change of seasons they had encountered on their journey up the mountain. It was still late fall in the lowlands, chilly at night but mild and sunny during the day. Farms they had passed on their way had been stripped nearly bare by the harvest and sometimes if they camped close enough to a village they could hear sounds of …

Going to plug FL in general. I have created a town (Fairhaven) in Cairhein. It is a days ride north Cairhein. I created the town and the ranch as a home for Matalina, it is a safe haven for darkfriends, however I am inviting the Freelanders as well to join us. There are currently 7 PCs at the Ranch, 6 of which are Darkfriends, one is one of your very own. You are welcome to stop by for a visit or come play for an extended period of time. The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in a place known in the Westlands as the Aiel Waste, to those of the Blight as Djevik K’Shar and to those who call it home the Threefold Land. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning. Born of the dunes that have seen the blood of man and of trolloc and myrddraal, the wind blew west. Howling through…

Sahra watched the retreating back of the Mistress of Trainees and she wanted to hoop with delight. She was finally here and would soon start her training. She had heard stories about it from many of the Tower Guards and Trainees frequenting the inn where she had worked at and she knew that it would be difficult and all her muscles would be aching and screaming mercy after the first days. But she was no wilting lily and the vision of Sahra Covenry as a celebrated hero and commander would carry her through it all. She was surprised at the amount of Tower Guards who wanted to become Bonded one day. It was a great honour of course and Aes Sedai were awe-inspiring women but th…

Also Titled: Skanky McSkank! Ooc: Not sure where this works for you. I'll leave the timing open for when ever it works for you, be it on that day or a few days later. Ic: She just could not believe it! After the trip they had, and before thier friendship could even abound, Cairma felt a stab at her as she watched Lyssa leave Aran's room. Jealousy flared from a deep part of her that she was becoming more and more familiar with. It was no surprise to her that Aran slept with anouther woman. Women, in fact. But that lackof surprise didn't change how much she truely wanted to deny it. She couldn't let go of that childish crush that she denied herself, and oth…

Having never had much interest in angreal, Shaneevae headed toward that section of the library. Honestly, she’d never had much interest in the One Power and what she could actually accomplish with it save the basics and necessity. A stubborn Brown, she preferred to work things out for herself. Most times, she considered using Saidar to be the easy way out and preferred to accomplish a task with her bare hands or the power of her mind depending upon the circumstance. However, she was more than aware of her or any man’s limited abilities in more demanding areas, which is what had her searching out an angreal or ter’angreal to be of aid in her recent quest. Even the most …

Kedyn hoisted another table into place around the sand pit that served as the Red Trench. Above the clouds were threatening rain, but even that wouldn't be enough to cast a pall over the upcoming events. The Red Trench was looked foreward to by the entirety of the Band and with the days off given to the Band this was a fine day. The only grumbles from the rain would be it watered the ale and made rolling around in the sand during the spars not the best of times. The pit, almost a mile outside the Citadel, was almsot complete in its construction. Kedyn had been chosen this time to help with its creation. The only permanent structure of the Trench was the pit, everythin…

ooc continuing from this tread http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10587 Liitha looked blankly at the book pages as she sat in the libary trying to read about her fathers old country. But the words came to be blured for her vission as it was grey eyes who distracted her thougths as they did her dreams. Sighing she descided to take the books with her out of here, maybe some fresh air would help. She had even been as far as going back to the inn for a dinner a few times the past 3 weeks, but no result had come from it. She was just about to round a corner when she heard the voices, and as she steped around she saw two brown sisters occupied in a d…

With all the new blood coming in Nathan set aside money and time for new out buildings to be constructed. He hired a man from Cairhein to oversee the process, but insisted that his own ranch hands help in the building process. There were camps set up for the various workers that he'd brought with him. Nathan introduced the ranchers to the crew lead. "This is Devon Grady. He will be your boss while you are working the outbuildings." Devon moved around the crowd almost in discust, he hadn't expected to see females on the job. "I hope she can handle the work load." Nathan smiled. "I think you'll be surprised, Cari is one of the stronger of the workers here. And…

Day twenty was not starting out very well. Mehrin had gotten used to the massive headaches that accompanied his alcohol withdrawal, but today's was much worse than usual; Mehrn felt as if his head was going to explode. And then there were the sounds. When he wasn't hearing every sound around him amplified tenfold, it was... screaming. That hadn't been the worst of it, either. When he had woken up, Mehrin had attempted to stab the man standing over him with the knife that he kept under his pillow, but stopped when he realized that he was stabbing at empty air. It was now two hours later, and the hallucinations had only been getting more realistic. Mehrin was only…

This would not be the first time that Michael Daemeau had made this walk. It wasn't even the one hundredth. It was one of a select few, though, whom he had escorted after being the one to teach them how to seize saidin. Ayrik Drayven had been a relatively quick learner, finishing his Acolyte training in about three and a half years. He hadn't set any speed records, but he hadn't been slow about it, either. As he approached the man's room, a flow of Air solidified, pushing the door open. The sudden weave of Fire and Spirit that slashed through his weave was not unexpected. Ayrik was known for being a bit forceful in his defenses. As the weaves of Air sprung ba…

Memories were always hard to shake when they left a vivid impression on a person. Cari Namere was no different than others, well mostly. The memories before she left for Tar Valon again stung. **** Cari was pushing soiled hay from barn number three when Liam can into the barn huffing on about something, cari couldn't quite make out exactly what he was saying. But that didn't stop him from walking up to her, standing straight up and removing his glove then smacking it across her right cheek. Cari was too stunned to know what to about and she didn't have much time to react as Liam broke down in tears and ran off. The man was always odd, but this was something …

Collapsing onto his bed, Aran stared up at the ceiling of his room as he made himself comfortable. It was a moment for thinking, contemplation and trying to figure out why the wheel was trying to shaft him. The Creator too for that matter, for a being that was good he had a quirky sense of humour which Aran didn't think was good at all. In fact, if the Creator had been a small child Aran would have felt entirely justified by kicking him. Or her. Most likely a her, there was a certain cruelty to what had just occured that Aran liked to think was beyond men. Not that men weren't cruel, but this was just twisted. Reporting to Brand early this morning, he had been…

Shawn reclined against a tree, marveling as he usually did at the beauty preserved here in the old Ogier Grove. It had been by the lake here in this grove that he had first met with Rosheen to learn the philosophy of the Spring, and here he was waiting so he could pass that knowledge on to her brother of all people. He did not usually take the time to train others in the philosophy he'd chosen to follow but he'd done it a few other times so when Ursana asked him he was glad to help out. Aran, the boy's mentor, was more than capable of teaching him this lesson himself, but he'd left the Tower for some reason and had asked him to help the boy out while he was gone. So…

I started us off with a little retro scene where Telcia is brought to the Kin for the first time for tea with some of the Knitting Circle. Any Kin who want to be established & start RPing in Ebou Dar are welcome to join in the tea scene as this is an informal meeting. Of course she has no idea they've been watching her for a while now and have all but decided to include her (hence why she's at the farm LOL) so make the retired Sista squirm. Don't forget to look at factions too! Some of you may be pleased as punch to have Telcia here to teach new weaves, help share knowledge etc... but some of you may fear what dangers she brings with her and be very agains…

The moon slid across the sky, it’s silent accent into the heavens watched by a pair of eyes that refused to see anything else, but the celestial. The trees around her, the leaves blowing in the wind, the flicker of firelight as it played with the darkness and shadows around her. She saw only the moon and stars, too numb and terrified to see the world around her. To see the world around her was to remember….. Gray light. Nothing bright or piercing, just dull gray. The sort of gray that made you stare at it for hours upon hours when you had nothing else to do. Nothing to watch, nothing to play with. No windows to look out or doors to leave. No food to eat. O…
