  1. Dashiva woke a few hours before dawn, as was his custom. He'd shaken the last of his sickness away, and was quickly returning to the routine he'd set for the years he'd been at the Black Tower. Slipping out of his bed quietly, he brushed a few hairs off Racelle's face, and then opened the large black dresser, pulling out one of his old, worn uniforms. Dressing quickly and silently, he pulled on a pair of similarly worn boots and ghosted through his two story home to the front door and slipped out. Resetting the wards, he released the miniscule amount of saidin needed go, and jogged over to the Inn. It was a cool, crisp morning with just a hint of the frost of comi…

  2. Started by The Don,

Sammael stepped out of the Gateway into the heart of the Great Blight. Some hundred leagues to the south, his new Captain was ravaging the remains of Kandor, giving yet another access into the southern part of the continent. Here though, would be his place of power. With the demise of Demandred, the cloak that had hidden Tar Machin Rahien for over 2000 years was now gone. The relatively ancient haven of the Shar Mahdi order was now desolate and empty. The Blight had begun entering its walls, but other than that, it and all of its contents were still in tact. The Tower held secrets almost as old as the White Tower in Tar Valon. All records of the Shadow's doings si…

  3. Nights stared down from high atop a ridge that looked down on the area known as the Two Rivers. The wind was brisk this morning and whipped his cloak out behind him as he stood vigil. Further down the trail leading up to his perch Owen waited for their guest to arrive. How odd it was to be waiting to lead an Aes Sedai to the ruins they had found. In his wildest imagination Nights would have never envisioned this scenario. Of course Quickening still wanted him to leave with her and go hunt rather than trust the Aes Sedai. ~Come away and hunt Nightsfire~ The image of stalking a deer floated through his mind and the Ranger smiled. “I cannot my friend,…

Two young lovers turned the corner as Damian slowly stepped out of the shadows. Quietly he made his way down the street, watching for anything that could catch him. A door opened and he quickly threw himself into a shadowed doorway and held his breath. The person turned the other way and began walking away. He took a deep breath and again began his slow trek. Seconds seemed like…

Our off site boards are in horrible condition. Spammers are making accounts and posting adds and spam on our boards and I am sick of it! What we need are official moderators and admins for the boards to delete and remove spam and destroy spammer accounts. Furthermore, as a division we need to use those boards more effectively and report new spam accounts as they post. Something needs to be done and it needs to be done now! ok... maybe "now" is asking a bit much... but it shouldn't take more than a week or two maybe...

  6. Jocelyn sat cross-legged on her bed, turning over the gift she had organised for Rion in her hands. It had taken her an awful lot of organising to get it, but now she had it, she wasn't sure. He would love it, of that she had no doubt...but would it be enough, to prove her loyalty, her love? Uncertainty had always been a foreign concept to her, but over the last weeks, since her stupid attempt to leave, she had been entirely unsure of herself. She couldn't NOT give it to him though, not after all she'd gone through to locate it, the pleading and convincing of someone to help her, the negotiating and agreeing to do chores, since she had no money to pay for the gift...…

Lillian didn't like standing about in any of the halls of the White Tower. It left one rather exposed and if one was standing about then one could easily be picked up by an Aes Sedai for some chore or other. Nor did she particularly appreciate the reason she was simply standing there. Narita Kone had bailed her up, an older Accepted who had worn her banded hem for about ten years now. Old enough that she felt that she had a certain amount of authority over younger Accepted, like herself. "You're going to come with me immediately, I have some things for you to do. Now." Lillian had slipped about the first couple of rude requests, but this one she was not going…

  10. Over a week on the road with his men, Dagan was starting to feel the pressure of leadership. He had been used to leading several dozen men at once... but under the command of other men. 200 soldiers, most of which were older that he was, all by himself... and to top it off, many were Friends of the Dark. At least one was Sammael's spy, he assumed. He was under the utmost pressure. As often as not, Dagan looked towards the shadows. Myrrdraal could travel through the shadows. He had seen enough of the Eyeless in the last week as any man would ever want and more. Just the thought of them following him made his skin crawl. Just at the end of the day, the first village cam…

  13. ~Dilora~ It wouldn’t be much longer now. Not many more nights of sleeping in her little wagon, cosily heated from the lamp that hung from the back wall, it’s light reflecting back from the mirrored sconce behind it and casting warm rays to cover all in a blessed golden glow. Not that she actually liked sleeping in a different bed to the one she knew. Dilora loved the open road; being able to sleep where she wanted, to be under no one’s rule apart from abiding by the laws and being reasonable, and of course the freedom to discover what did lie over that hill, or behind that stand of trees. The nightmares that had wracked her since the last time she had made…

Well, narg is bored... and for some reason SG is dead. What the hell is wrong with you people. I step out for two or three minutes..... or years... depending on how you deal with time... and then BOOM! You all become a bunch of pansy ass little.... sorry... as I said... Narg is bored. So, narg is just gonna start an idea thread... because he is bored.... and he likes to brainstorm... because even though DM tries to stiffle creativity in the name of no one cheating... narg likes to cheat! Deal! So, without further ado. Idea #1: I still hate the fact that this plan once had a chance and never panned out due to... well... we wont discuss that. But the ide…

  16. Started by Nightwatch,

Nightwatch was new to Tar Valon an new nothing about it other than what he had read in books, but he wanded over to the Warder's Yard where he saw a few men and women training. He knew one day he wanted to become a warder. He made his way over to a large oak and stood in the shade and watched the others train. His blue coat rustled in the slight breeze. It was a nice day out, a good day to train, but new to Tar Valon and the Tower, he wanted to explore a little and start to know his way around. He found his way to the stables where he spent an hour with his steed. After a while longer of walking the grounds he made his way into what seemed to be an infirmary. …

It was perhaps no longer than an hour past midday as Aran made his way into Tar Valon proper. After a rather 'exciting' jaunt in Cairhien, he was finding that the calmer streets of Tar Valon were welcome. That wasn't to say that they weren't busy, or noisy, but they were alot safer. In a city of Aes Sedai, one couldn't be too careful, especially with the chair that sat in the Tower that made most people think twice about any planned wrongdoing. All in all, Aran was glad to be back. If someone had asked Aran what he was doing, there would've been very little surprise at his response. He often went to different establishments to have a drink or three and a chat wit…

Going on Orchestral tour in about 6 and a bit hours. I'll be gone till sunday, then leave again on monday and return on wednesday. If anything needs sorting, Winter Mist is the person to bug. Winter, have all faith in you :) Don't hesitate about stuff if it comes up, just go with your gut feeling and have fun with it. And if you even think the word pressure I will smack you myself when I get back :D For those of you waiting on posts for me, and there are a number of you at the moment :) Have no fear, I should have a go at them as soon as I get back. Or possibly go schizo because I'm behind in my Nano word count and really need to pick up the pace there. But…

  20. Started by Arette,

It had been an excruciating journey with Con so close, but still as out of the reach as the moon. Arette had almost managed to convince herself that his later safety depended on her discretion. She didn't want to flaunt their thing to the Children and prompt them to mention anything to the Questioners even in an accident for there would be a Questioning. And if the men were like Con, they wouldn't lie for him. But in the best case they might not tell some things. So she suffered in silence and stayed away from him when it wouldn't have satisfied the chaperone rules of even the strictest Amadician noble woman. Even when it required being around Luca that bloody male. Spend…

I am seriously considering rockin' on the Kin thing and wanted to know if I'm alone in this or if there are peeps out there already having fun with this great group of characters! Thanks!

Obligation. Forming your character. Discipline. Obedience. All those were essentials, some called them even virtues of the Black Tower. You were obliged to obey those above you in rank as they were only intent on forming your character by tasks or lessons they rendered to you, strengthening yourself physically and maybe mentally if you were lucky, yet enforcing a certain discipline as well as you were expected to hold back your own will, doing what you were told, always and without any complaints, no matter what the circumstances. What you wanted, dreaded or worried about wasn´t important in the daily routine of the Black Tower. What counted was why they were here.…

The sun was at its zenith over Tar Valon and peaked through the windows of a magnificent apartment in the White Tower to illuminate two lovers enjoying their late breakfast. The olive-skinned mustached man and the pale haired icy blue-eyed woman lay on their sides in the mightily trussled bed and fed each others romantically, feasting on each others' lips occasionally too. They were loathe to speak and spoil the tender mood. It had been so long since they had last been together and they both knew that they had to depart soon. But not yet, right now they would just savour the moment. Not many words were exchanged, but their bodies spoke a common language in kisses, caresse…

  26. Started by Drea Raylin,

Drea neatly set out a bottle of ink, a few pens and a stack of parchment on teh desk in front of her. Mehrin had given her orders to teach Carnhain how to write. Drea assumed it was because she had as much experience writting reports as she did in the feild, but it was probably because he didn't trust her enough to train new scouts yet. Truth was, Drea wasn't sure if she trusted herself either. Drea stepped back to observe the desk inside her room. The eye for detail cursed her even with simple things like this. Being a Banner Captain again, she was given a semi-large room and just received a new desk that morning. Her paperwork had already begun piling up, but she se…

Hung over, tired, and exceptionally bored was not a feeling any man enjoyed. It was to the Stone Dog sentry’s extreme pleasure that a young boy was coming closer to the gate. He couldn't help the grin that moved like a shadow across his face. It took only a moment to whip it away. He knew that this young warrior had been anxiously awaiting his chance to join Shae'en M'Taal. He could only wonder if the young man knew what was in store for him. “Stop. What do you want?†OOC: Ok here's the link to the initiation; please take a read through. I will play the NPC's for you as well as the SL obviously. However you will do most of the posting. Elyna breathed deeply, inhaling the fumes of the cakes she had just finished making to help out in the kitchen. As she scurried to place the cakes in reaching distance of the serving women, she smiled to herself. This is what makes life worth living. Cooking for hours on end until you smell just as delicious as the food you're making. I would stay here forever. And it seemed like she had been. She had been living in the tower for six years already and for the last year, it seemed like she was going nowhere. Elyna had made quick progress in her lessons but she had exerted no effort to push them to the next level. The ones in charge seemed to notice this becau…
