  1. "… Her Illuminated Majesty Queen Leilwinn Jasma, Shield of the North, Sword of the Blightborder." Leilwinn stepped out from the cool interior of the palace onto the polished white marble of the north terrace to applause and even a few whistles which surprised but amused her. She could hear the rustle of her black silk skirts and the soft clicking of her slippers on the marble, her slow and even breaths and her steady heartbeat. To her, delivering an address was a performance, a holy thing. The words had pitch and timber and everything from the carriage of her body to the tilt of her smile played together to create a memorable experience for the audience. One tha…

OOC: Muirenn and Sirayn have chosen the position of opposition and defense, but the RP is open for anyone who would like to see this trial. IC: Phaedra straightened her back in front of the small mirror on her drawer. She had Farrah’s help with dressing up for this occasion as it had been so long since she had sat at court. For Phaedra, it was not the dress but the voice of those in the court room that mattered, but since not everyone agreed it was best to let her personal maid help her out. The deep gray dress, the Shawl of her Ajah over her shoulders and her hair pulled back with an ivory comb, Phaedra was unsure what it all meant on this cold morning. Cold …

The sun rose to herald the beginning of a new day, oddly enough much like every other day. Yet in the nation of Andor and the city of Caemlyn, it wasn't any other day. The Queen had chosen to throw a carnival outside the city for her people, and many performers from not only Andor, but elsewhere, had come to participate. Even as dawn came, people were scurrying about, making preparations for when the city folk came out to visit during the day. Some were tumblers, others gleemen, others still were there to host challenges ranging from archery to bouts with staves. Many forms of entertainment were to grace the day for those who went. As the sun rose higher, the fir…

"Now, is there anything you wish to ask of me while I have time?" Nyssa smiled at the Steward of the Fortress, hiding her mild disappointment at hearing that Tel’Aran’Rhiod would have to be entered with the same rules in mind as the Fortress in this reality. The part she had always liked about the world of dreams was that the rules were different, sometimes even seemingly non existent. In the dream she could defeat and manipulate people that were far beyond her reach in this world. She took care not to eye Con, or whoever he was, knowing full well that there would be malice in her eyes. He would have been a good victim for her in the dream. She would have enjoyed …

The clattering of teeth was audible even though Rosheen didn’t come close enough to actually make out the face of the Guard on duty as she walked past him. The way he had wrapped his face in cloth had something to do with that as well though. Rosheen herself felt rather chilly as well, but she blamed that to the fact that she’d just spent several hours overseeing the work that was done to keep the docks free of ice. She didn’t really understand why the Tower insisted that Tower Guard should oversee that, but she wasn’t one to question their authority either. Well, at least not until they overstepped it too badly. But all that was behind her now, and all she re…

  6. Well, disappointing way for it to end for the Socceroo's. 0-1 to Italy due to a penalty in the dying seconds of additional time. Even if the penalty was dodgy, to be fair perhaps Materazzi (sp?) shouldn't have been red carded so quickly. Despite the fact I think Italy did alot of diving (especially at the end), from the sounds of it some of the other contenders like Portugal aren't much better. Personally I hope Italy takes the cup, that way we can say Australia went down to the Cup champions as opposed to 5th place :) I do reckon from this Australian soccer (football, I know) will get a really decent boost with the publicity. Plus there is the Asia cup in twelve…

  7. Talyn had arranged to take a group of trainees out to Cairhein, to teach them a little about the Aiel War, and the devistation of his own country. Every year his grandfather preached about how the Aiel had moved silently through the Ranch. No one had ever seen one, but he knew they had come that way. There really was no way to get to Cairhein except through the Jangai pass, and the Ranch was far enough off the road for travelers not to see the horde of Aiel that traveld through. Tonight would be their last camp before reaching the city itself where the true lesson would begin. Talyn spoke to the trainees about survival techniques as they road and they were expecte…

Miria still felt as though she walked on air, even hours after leaving the barracks that morning. The feeling of elation could all be layed at Kedyn's feet, the pure bliss of requited love. Not to mention her first kiss. Or other...discoveries...she had made through the night. A blush bloomed on her cheeks at the thought, her blood already heating at the thought, the anticipation of learning more when she saw him again, which would be very soon. Having just bathed, her hair clean and new clothes on her body, Miria intended to look for Kedyn, still unable to remove her bright smile, despite the mood of despondancy that seemed to shroud the Citadel. How could she not sm…

No one was there to hear her voice as it shivered slightly the second time she broke the silence around her to remind herself that she was truly fine. She was not, of course. No one was, not now. Not now that… she pushed the thought aside with some effort, instead lifting the letter again. She had almost memorised the words. Come home. The letter had been crumpled and smoothed out again. Come home. Easy for her to say. Sh…

Covai Seriba will be acting up in the position as Black Tower 2IC, re-assuming his post as Storm Leader and also taking the title of M'Hael Haran and "Dali's Personally Butt-Kicker and Generally Keeping the M'Hael On Task Guy". 17. As someone had once wisely stated, there was no rest for the wicked, and these days she never had a moment to spare. Her new and deeply illegal project, the Order of the Rose, demanded time she could scarcely afford; its schemes required her frequent attention, woven smoothly as they were into her own interests and those of her Green Ajah, and of course she had to closely observe the performance of those working under her. Their competence was not in question but she had promised much and intended to give it. Once she had set the stone rolling on this plan she could not take it back: not that she regretted it, that would be madness. Even now new intelligence came to her e…

  18. Sana's Arrival in the Yards Something felt wrong. Even in his sleep, Sana felt the wrongness of his surroundings. Bone tired weariness made him unwilling to open his eyes. It was too quiet, too quiet for the road and he was certainly too comfortable to be sleeping under a wagon or the stars. With a deep breath, he opened his eyes and stared for a moment at the ceiling. Right. The White Tower. His memory came back in a flood; his family coming in to Tar Valon to visit his sister who was a Tower Guard, his refusal to see her and decision to gamble away his money at the taverns, the last night when his winnings had been too good and someone, a couple some ones act…

  19. The breakfast was being served in the downstairs already and Arette knew that they should get going as soon as possible to find Iussi and then move to where ever the trail lead. Still she was postponing going to the dining hall and meeting Con. She had fussed in front of the mirror girding herself for the encounter. She had plaited her hair on two thick braids which hid the white on her temples and her tear rimmed eyes had been fixed by a new Mask of Mirrors weave. And thank goodness she could wear her own clothes now. Yesterday she hadn't even remembered that the Children had had hers and Con's saddlebags, but she had seen hers this morning under the bed. But there was o…

  20. Coraman stood a few paces from the pearly gates of the White Tower - her gaze upwards towards the peaks daring the sky to break them. Her hands trembled and her stomach churned its contents. Tears threatened to break through her hold - tears of sadness and anger towards Seiaman and her abandonment. If she had known this would've happened, her bed back at the Inn would've been empty before the second day came. But Coraman refused to believe what Seiaman does - the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills. She didn't believe in fate or luck, the mere idea of her future in the hands of some unknown superior being made her feel as if she was a puppet. After that old hag whom controlle…

  21. IC: Danian was training. Well... really he was just failing misrably while Deneira kept saying repeat, repeat, repeat. Every time he messed up and every time she said repeat. He would stand training all day until she decided that he should go back to his room. It had been like this for the last two months, ever since their first training. Honestly, it was hard to learn anything like this. Toran was irritated, not only at this training, but Deneira's taunting. Danian had kept his temper for two months, enduring torture, and he was not sure how much more he could take. Danian was in the middle of a form, doing fairly well, when Deneira spoke. Arala enjoyed the short walk from her tent to the training grounds inside the Fortress’ walls. This early in the morning no one was around to want to tag along and talk her ear off when what she really wanted was silence. She wasn’t particularly coordinated when she first woke up either, and the walk bought her some time before she needed to be. Eyes only half open, she ambled peacefully. She was early but was still surprised not to see Con there already. The young girl took a moment to fish a piece of twine from one of her pockets and bind her braids out of her face. There was nothing more embarrassing than missing a block because she couldn’t see it throu…

Ever since her fight with Orion, Estel had been waking up earlier. Once, it had been almost impossible to drag her from bed before noon but as of a month ago, she had been getting up early. In her dreams, the scene of Orion’s retreating back and the look in his sightless eyes woke her, tears running down her cheeks. Slowly now, as the bitter pain of their separation faded with time, she began feeling emotions to intrude on the emptiness she had felt before. Those snippets of feelings were like returning friends, though with them came pain but anything was better than the void of before. The crack of her whip and the scuffling of her feet were the only sounds …

Being told your presence wasn’t required was not something Rosheen liked to hear. Especially not from Lyanna, and especially not in the careless manner she had informed her of it. It was a kind of ‘go play somewhere else, let us grown-ups talk in peace’- comment that agitated her to no end. That, combined with a bad night’s sleep and a prank played on her by some fool trainee did not make Rosheen a happy person. In fact, it was enough to send her into various states of rage. It was probably a good thing that she had a yard full of training options she could use to convert that rage into something positive. With a scowl on her face she leapt down the stairs, five o…

Life as she knew it, was going well. A cool breeze flowed by her, its force thin and almost enchantingly so. The day was fresh still, Vera knew as she looked up into the long stretches of sky, the blue a young, lively shade that would gradually change into so many other, it was impossible to count how many. Saidar was a beautiful sensation that enhanced senses and as she sat there dribbling little spheres of Air, Vera found herself letting go and becoming a part of the nature that surrounded her, the same environment, she realized during a moment of revelation, that she now called home. A little away, not unlike a little child her garden was groping through the darkness i…

Any objections or concerns, feel free to PM me. ic: Seiaman sat in the large leather lounge chair, a leg over one arm as she leaned against the other. The fire crackled and danced, sending the shadows of the room to every corner and back. She held a dagger in one hand, twirling it as the tip of the dagger pressed against her fingertip. Blood was slowly dripping onto her thigh. The rooms below were silent save for the creaks of the floorboards from Coraman's late arrival in the night. It wouldn't take much to burn this place down, to give my life to the fire. But Seiaman …
