  2. (OOC: This is BEFORE the Trolloc hunting thread BTW) Rekinu was up early. Today was a sunny day, great for training. He had been at the tower for several year, and today was the year anniversary of his Raising to a Tower Guard. What better way to celebrate but to run through some exercises, and teach a couple of trainees how to be stealthy in moving around. It is one of the things that Warders need to excel in. He had signed up for the class just yesterday when the regular Tower Guard came down with a fever, and was waiting for them to arrive. This would be a fun experience!

  3. Started by Mashiara Sedai,

Dragonmount is pleased to host fantasy author Saladin Ahmed for a week-long author Q&A session! Saladin Ahmed's debut novel, Throne of the Crescent Moon, released in February of this year, is gaining attention in the fantasy genre, particularly because of Mr. Ahmed's unique choice of setting. Last year, Saladin Ahmed was a guest podcaster on Brandon Sanderson's "Writing Excuses," Season 5 Episode 36. He has also been nominated for both the Nebula and Campbell awards. Saladin Ahmed will visit Dragonmount July 22nd - 28th to answer questions from fans. Everyone is welcome to join in. The discussion will take place on the General Discussion board. I hope you w…

  4. My Red Sitter has been charged with finding out why Red Eyes and Ears have disappeared in Far Madding. She's just Travelled there with her new Asha'man Warder. I'm open for any ideas. The one thing I would like to happen is for her Asha'man to save her (she thinks he's the Village Idiot :P).

  5. A few more questions to discuss. 1) why did you join the Freelanders originally? 2) are you a member of other rp groups? If yes, did you join them before or after you joined the Freelanders? 3) is your reason for staying here the same or different from your reason for joining?

  6. Started by Yriel,

Yriel had been minding his own business, admittedly following the odd rumours that passed that the Band were near this area and on the march, aiming for a deer. This deer had been foolish enough to stay still for long enough to pull his crossbow off his back and load a bolt. Licking his lips, he had been thinking of the rare delight the meal would bring him, he was almost as tired of rabbit as he was of travelling alone. He drew in his breath and held his aim, there was a twang from somewhere to his right, Yriel pulled his trigger by reflex releasing his bolt from its crossbow under the belly of the deer as it reared from the arrow in it's thigh. Blood and ashes he swore …

  7. Started by Kathleen,

I know you're busy, so don't think you need to rush this, I just want it to serve as a reminder for both of us. We can pick away at planning for it till its ready to go. I'm already forgetting what we had worked out already. So um...do you remember what we planned? Was it something like finding a girl to bring into the Kin? I know we discussed finding a damane who left for dead, but decided that was a little much. Then we were thinking of a run away from the tower, but I wasn't sure if we decided to do that one. If we did were we gonna turn her back to the tower or into the kin? I think we had a few other ideas that weren't about bringing someone in, …

  10. The night was falling in Ebou Dar and the sky was clear, loads of people were busy getting home or closing up their stores. Merchants were leaving the city after loading off their merchandize. Alinya hadn’t been in the city for three years not even in the Rahad – where she had lived all her life. She tucked her cloak tighter around her shoulders, as the wind was blowing tonight. Some people stared at her direction, most of them were men – it made her glare back with cold eyes, which stopped most of the stares. She loathed men most of all, they were disgusting creatures – took what they thought were their right to take, and throw away what they did not need anymore. Alinya…

  11. Started by Myyrth,

I'd love to do something a bit amibitous and maybe draw in the currently active peope to some sort of RP. I have nearly completed a closed story meant to get my Myrdraal to Fadehood. Just wondering if there are a couple people here willing to figure something out?

  12. Started by U4ea,

So, the lovely and talented Kathleen wants to raise her BRS (what we call the WS over in the Tower) and needs a wardie to teach basic forms. I thought I'd open this up for someone who needs their "help a trainee" credit, since I'm hoping that will work (is that alright for that req, Devon?). Kathleen's concern is that this needs to be someone who will be a great deal older in the current timeline (so, someone who is doing this training kind of retro to the timeline). Personally, I don't think we've ever given much thought to that, since it's mostly about getting the req's checked off and there aren't that many players around here these days, but if that will be …

  13. An uptight honor-bound Blademaster, a carefree somewhat dense Asha'man, a maniacal DF TG and a jovial good-natured Warder enter an Inn together and order a drink. They quickly assess each other a realize that none of them likes the other. The blademaster stands in the corner, mug untouched watching the others like a hawk. The Asha'man talks openly of burning all of them to cinders in between gulps from his mug. The DF TG curses them all threatening to kill them in their sleep while the jovial Warder ignores the others, downs his drink, gooses the woman singing then picks up where she left off with a deep voice that could best be compared to a herd of cattle all mo…

  14. Started by Kura,

Arcon’s finely manicured hands pressed firmly upon the polished wooden door to the tavern. He tried to enter with little fanfare, and thought he chose the location fairly well for such a reaction. His silks were hidden under a woolen cloak, and the silk patch replaced with one of far lesser quality. Though of course, his hood was up. The tavern was far from the seediest in town, though honestly in Tar Valon even that wasn’t much to sniff at. It was however, that wonderful middle ground where a man and a woman could be expected to meet. He knew his slender build, and if anyone looked too closely, youthful looking face would only work in his favor tonight. Let them assume I…

  16. Who knew that one needed to know the place you were Travelling from? Or that it took several hours at least to "learn" a place? Absolutely everyone, according to her Bonded. Larindhra sniffed and pulled her horse after her as she strode through the silvery opening. To the precise place where she's asked that he open the Gateway. She gritted her teeth and thanked him. Politely. She was already rifling through her saddlebags when he stepped through and closed the Gateway. "Wear this - it's a Warder cloak." The Mistress of Novices had access to all the Angreal, Sa'angreal and Ter'angreal. Who was to know what she did with it before putting it back after teaching a class?…

  17. Geirrin stood on the docks of Southharbor looking past the harbor to the River Erinen. Gulls looking for their next meal cried out as the dockworkers loaded and unloaded the vessels moored to the loading docks. The water lapped rhythmically against the hulls. All the sounds in the harbor mixed together to provide a soothing symphony which sang to him reminding him of his days before coming to the farm. It was a simple life but a blissful one provided by his ignorance of the events outside his small fishing village. Now life was far more complex, exponentially so! Bloody fish guts Geirrin thought as he turned and walked laboriously towards the Tower like a ship s…

  18. Started by Tamerya,

Two riders entered the gates of Tar Valon. One rode with the haughty disdain, someone who was used to being obeyed. The second was more furtive. They could not be any different in physical looks. The first was blonde and fair-skinned, while the second was olive skinned with brown hair. At closer look, the first was obviously Aes Sedai while the second was definitely not. “We have arrived Duriya,” the Aes Sedai spoke to her companion. Duriya nodded. She had known the second they crossed the bridge. With all that the Aes Sedai had spoke of Tar Valon and the White Tower, it could hardly be anything else. As with every other town they entered, the girl adjust…

  19. Started by Myyrth,

Awakening This Follows the Blood on the Leaves RP. The battle was over. Another bloody massacre ending in defeat. Always the humans fell back on their only saviors in their weakness. Always they turned to the Aes Sedai. Myyrth’s thin lipless mouth turned down in an expression of vehement disgust. Even now he could feel the itch of the one power crawling along his spine. It filled him with a white hot rage. He wanted nothing more than to pick up a sword and start killing. He would find every Aes Sedai that walked this light forsaken world and put them to the sword. No, that would be too easy. He would spend time with each and every one. He would make their …

  23. Started by The Bard Babe,

So, does the Band have any version of it? Cause if not, then Arkin would definitely be the one to start it up.

  24. Started by Arinth,

  25. Started by Kura,

Howdy, our beloved division leader Liitha is on a 3 week LoA. This means that I, who for whatever reason agreed to be ADL of the CotS, am currently in charge. I full expect you to be fantastically behaved members of CotS, and politic and back stab until the cat comes back. In other words, don't let progress slow down any more because she is gone, I am more than capable of helping/raising you if you meet the requirements for the next level. So please, frollic, kill, maim, do something. I'll be here if you need me.

Sereth stepped through the familiar slash, his silk coat fluttering meekly from the breeze. When he released the weave it settled. He shook his head; it was an odd night for the weather to be so still. It seemed the world should be in tempest. His boots crunched through the snow as he approached his home, pushing open the door and taking a moment to take it all in. It has been a long time… He felt an odd duality. So much had changed, the summer heat finally breaking, his promotion to Attack Leader, and… other things. Yet still, his home remained almost exactly as he had left it, a state of familiar disarray, and he knew he’d be able to find any book he owned. Question no…

Alright, arcon is fully raised, and I'll get started on putting him on the council, but I've got I believe an Acolyte and a very low level fade to raise as well. Gonna need to one, find my reqs for my other dready, and two get some teaching down on my Fade. I really want to begin getting the shadow back out into the world, and can do so now with only one character. Liitha, wanna help me out on pushing out some reqs? Or anyone else for that matter.

  28. Started by Quibby,

Looking for some RP. I'm bored, and I'm up for anything. Anybody have any ideas for something that is bound to make people laugh together, weep together, touch lives, or touch internal organs in ways that they are not meant to be touched (possibly all at the same time)?

"So you need a guard for your merchandise? I guess I'm available for that." The merchant sitting across from Mehrin smiled. "Glad to hear it. To be honest, you're the fifth person with whom I've spoken about this little bit of business, and none of the others would even come close to it." With a small chuckle, he added, "To be even more honest, I didn't think you'd even see me, given who you-" Mehrin held up his hand. "Don't even go there," he grumbled. "I know who I am; I doubt that there's anybody in Cairhien who doesn't know who I am. That doesn't change the fact that I work my way in this world like anybody else in this tavern." "Of course. Forgive…

  30. Started by Kura,

So, I've noticed that the CotS boards are quite frankly disturbingly dead. I still have several posts on the front page... and that doesn't make me happy. As the baddies are kinda an integral part of the overall storey, I feel we need to breathe some life into them, and well, perhaps do something bad. As such I offer up my Dreadlord Arcon Da'Dread, I'll have to double check with Liitha, but I have a vague recollection of him picking up the travelling weave at some point, or the two of us can work on a reason why he'd be out. He is a Carhien to the bone, and about as proud and arrogant as possible. Really an incredible character for me to play, and I find most people find …
