OOC: I wanted to write something that wasn't a Requirement. If your character is around and wants to distract Elin, please feel free. A comfortable chair was essential to spending long periods of time reading, Elin found. Today, she was nestled in a Library near the Brown Ajah's quarters. She didn't really understand Browns, or how they managed to produce so much information, but she was able to accept that whether she understood it or no, it was true. Today, she was searching for the writings of Dreamers. Just before being taken to be tested for Acceptance, she had been reading a Dreamer's journal that suggested she had met men and women long dead in the World …

  3. Started by Grimmlocke,

Nanna sat in her room in the Novice quarters, idly running a brush through the yellow locks of one of the other Novices. The girl was one of a handful of children for whom Nanna had become a sort of surrogate mother. This particular one was one of the younger girls, a young woman from Andor named Elzibet. She had the most beautiful blond hair, and the poor girl rarely took care of it the way it needed to be, so Nanna had taken it upon herself to make sure the girl was looked after properly. Well, that and it reminded her of an earlier time, when her daughters had still been young enough to need their mother's help getting ready for the day. It was surprising, eve…

  4. Started by Arath Faringal,

It was a beautiful day in Tar Valon. The sun shone down warmly, and a pleasant breeze bearing the scents of the nearby farms took away any traces of extra heat. And Rochel was stuck teaching a lesson to an Accepted. The fact that she had been one of them not so very long ago did nothing to calm her. She was Aes Sedai now! Didn't that mean she could go off and do as she wanted? Apparently not. Her first year as a Red sister had been completely packed with lessons. She had long since suspected that an Aes Sedai's real training didn't begin until she reached the Shawl, and her suspicions seemed completely confirmed. The 15 previous years almost seemed like a waste. …

  5. Started by Phelix,

Elin was waiting for the novices in the classroom, but she had a more interesting locale for their final lesson in mind. She kept her grin to herself as the novices filed into the room. When they were all there, she let her smile show. “Girls, we will be working with Air and Water today, but we won’t be having our lesson here. Please, follow me.” She lead the girls down, out of the Tower into one of the gardens. Outside, she had the girls stand in a circle around her. “First, we will weave Air.” Taking several thick threads of Air, Elin wove them into a simple wall. “Girls, please weave a wall of Air for yourself.” Elin watched the novices weave …

if I recall correctly, we still have an ongoing RP don't we? From when Carina was newly raised. I'd like to finish that up so we can have a nicely finished RP, if you're up for it. :) Just need to find the RP link again..... *grmbls at new boards*

  9. The weave of Spirit formed easily for Elin, as they almost always did, and Elin split her flow into a second weave designed to slash other weaves, then a third, a shield, designed to cut another channeler off from the source. Her lessons with Rochel Sedai had inspired the Accepted to continue her work with Spirit, especially shields and defensive uses of the Power. She was alone in that quiet garden near the Red quarters, and she let the weaves dissipate. Sitting on a marble bench, she stroked the bands at her hem. Those seven stripes were dear to her, and she had worked to earn them. She had been an Accepted for many years, and she had passed her thirtieth birt…

Her money safely in the bank, Gera made her way to the White Tower. The buildings all throughout the city were glamorous, though some more so than others. Those that stood out had no equal in the rest of the world. Gera had lived in Cairhien with its fabled topless towers, but even those did not compare with the buildings of Tar Valon. Some mimicked crashing waves, mountains, and even animals. One she vowed to return to at a later date was a bookstore that looked like a cat curled and purring. As she moved through the city, Gera couldn’t help but notice potential informants. There a lounging groom who looked just honest enough to keep his word, if paid for …

Dragonmount Handle: Phelix Full Character Name: Elin Hawes Part 1 - Out of Character 1.1. Which Ajah do you aspire to join and why? Elin should join the Red Ajah because it is the Ajah that fits her purposes and her ideals best. The Red is an Ajah where Elin will be able to travel the world and help people in situations like the one that lead to her being forced out of Amadicia. She will be able to go out into the world searching out new channelers, helping those who need to make their way to the Tower (White or Black) and removing the threat of channelers who have gone outside the bounds of safety for the world around them... such as male channelers f…

  16. Started by Phelix,

Today’s lesson was going to be a particular trial for Elin. Women, in general, were weaker in Earth and Fire than men, but Elin was weaker than even the average woman in Earth. Her time in the Tower had taught her not to hide from her weaknesses, but to address them and surmount them. To that end, she felt it would be best to have the girls work with Earth and Fire on their first day actually channeling. When the girls began to trickle into the classroom, Elin smiled, knowing that she had to show a confident face if she was to teach the novices well. She also left an empty folder sitting on the desk, wondering which of the girls would remember the previous a…

  17. Started by Jagen Sedai,

A long time ago I used to play a sul'dam (forgot what happened with her, I think some thread died and...that was that). Well it was years ago and I'd like to start afresh. But, I don't want to submit a bio and start solely from there. Instead, I am looking for other PCs within the Seanchan that she could/would know--maybe she is your character's relative, your character's friend or enemy, etc. Basically, I want some help from others because I feel this would be best so I can weave her right into whatever is going on with ease and not go through sole introduction thread (I want people to join me in it because their characters already will know mine). This also will he…

  18. Okay, so I tried to sort of form a general plan of the silly RP we want to have in the Rev board. In the discussion thread there were loads of good ideas thrown about. I tried to take the best of everything... there are things I didn't quite manage to incorporate and some things that I did manage to throw in there. So, have a look and tell me what you think. It's still subject to change, so don't worry about pointing out things you feel should be added or corrected. Also, this is a general write up. Obviously every individual RPer can RP a number of weird things that happen and let your imagination flow. Planning the stages the way I have is there so there will be a c…

  19. Kagari was beginning to regret taking the Baerlon delivery. Though the wide road was unmistakably the only path that went where she was going, it was uncomfortably empty this side of Whitebridge. As she rode westward, other people grew few and far between. There were no merchants to talk to, no peddlers to ride alongside for a mile or ten or however long they went before stopping at a village to display their wares. There were villages, of course, and she still saw an occasional shepherd with his flocks, but they were growing fewer and farther between. More often than not, she had to tether her horse Banner in a meadow and bivouac for the night. People said that…

  20. Started by Zentopia,

“I don't know what I'm thinking, bringing you here,” Islara Adsanisar Aes Sedai said, as she swept down the hallway to the Mistress of Novices with her potential novice in toe. “I know we need every woman who can channel in the tower, but you? What is the Tower going to do with a Tuatha'an?” The older woman shook her head, dark golden ringlets shaking, and readjusted her green-fringed shawl. Islara Sedai had been a full sister for twenty years, but she still felt naked around her fellow sisters in the Tower without it. Plenty of them still saw her as the petulant little novice. Which was just not fair! She glared over her shoulder at the quiet little girl hastening …

A knock came on her bedroom door Milla was out of the room, she was alone. It was the Mistress of Novices. Kate gave a polite curtsy to her elder and senior. It had been bullied into her to do so and she remembered it on every occasion. It took some time to intone such an attitude but it was there now. Kate wondered if it would ever go away. "Come," was all the Mistress of Novices said. Kate obediently followed. The Mistress of Novices lead Kate into the bowels of the White Tower to a domed chamber where stands a ter'angreal made of three rounded silver arches, each just tall enough to walk under, sitting on a thick silver ring with their ends touching each oth…

  22. My darling child, Never have I written harder words than I do this day. So began the letter that trembled between Kiyi’s fingers, the thin parchment covered in her mother’s flowing script. She had always admired her mother’s handwriting. It had an elegance that she’d never been able to match, hard as she tried. She didn’t want to look at it now though. ...may not have long... hope that you may be able to come... time to say goodbye… The words blurred, melding together on the page, seen through tears that came despite Kiyi’s wish to be strong and regardless of her attempts to mimic the calm that seemed to live permanently on the faces of Aes Sedai. They…

OOC: I had originally planned this as a homesickness RP, and it just turned out into a chore. I hope I did this right. Please let me know if I didn’t! ------------------------------------------------ IC: The barest hint of sun began to filter through the tall windows, golden rays highlighting dust particles that lazily floated around the air. By the direction of the sun and where she was in the tower, it was later in the morning than Miahna had thought. Not that she’d had much time to breathe, let alone think. Tamila Sedai had arrived earlier in the day and plucked her from the hallway. She’d been on her way to study in the library; there was a particula…

  24. Started by Jaydena,

The lights of Tar Valon shimmered in the night, dwarfed by the luminosity of the White Tower. Seiaman Kera sat quietly on her horse who twitched impatiently to get to a warm stable with food and water. The last time she had seen the White Tower she left as a retired Tower Guard, former Gaidin of Sirayn Sedai, and a newly-created Darkfriend with a destination to a secluded manor to be trained as an assassin. Much had happened in that short period of time – she had turned around before she arrived to her destination and before the Shadow ascended deeper in her soul. And now she had nowhere to go except back to Tar Valon, to the assumed safety of the White Tower. A wry smile…

  28. OOC: Being called to the Testing -- It's really long, so I'm breaking into sections, each one is preceded with the topic of each post so you can skim to the parts you want to read if you don't want to read it all at one (or at all ;) ) Kathleen was sitting in the dinning hall enjoying a late lunch. Most of the room was deserted with a few small pockets of Novices who had been busy during the main part of the lunch hour, most likely bringing some Aes Sedai their lunch. Kathleen sat alone but she wasn't upset. She was not in the mood to be around people. She had a bit of rough day and was starting to feel her afternoon slump settling in. She was hoping the soup and rol…

  29. With the latest additions of very high quality writers I am inspired to organise a first Brown Ajah open RP. But first, I'd like to see if there is an interest for this type of RP among our Novices and Accepteds, since this will be mainly focussing on them. I'm open to suggestions on the type of RP this will be. We can do anything from 'a day at the Tower Library' to an open talk on the garden grounds of the Tower. 30. Started by Phelix,

With her head down in the pots, Gera looked just like all the other novices... rather, she didn’t look like an old woman among girls. Most of these girls were too young, and brainless, for her to even introduce them to her son, and he liked his women pliable and pretty. They said that boys tried to find a woman to replace their mother... well, her boy seemed determined to buck that rule. Hopefully the boy hadn’t mangled the Web yet. Gera sighed as she scrubbed the large cauldron. That life was behind her, for now. Setting it to the back of her mind, she renewed her efforts at scrubbing the light forsaken metal caked in stewed rice and vegetables. Whichever c…
