Alright, so I know I've been away for a while already, but this Monday I leave for Marine Corps Recruit Training. The training is thirteen weeks long, provided I don't do something crazy like break my leg. That said, I'm giving my good friend Visar Falmaien permission to NPC my Novice, Dyrum Alede, until my return sometime in mid to late October. It's an exciting time here at the WT RPG, with our brand new Salidar Novices being launched. Elgee explained the differences in her post, For further information on Traditional and Salidar Novices and the differences between them please read the Rules and Guidelines page of the WT RP website. In the past, the use of code names to distinguish between the various divisions within each corps was commonplace, with a set code name for the PCs, as well as some for the NPCs and the older characters that were promoted beyond having any use for them. The way the code names worked was something of a tiered system. The first part of the code name was the corps name (Infantry, Cavalry, et cetera). This was to designate who you belonged to in the Band. Each corps is led by a captain general. After this came the battalion name, which was usually some sort of weather phenomenon (Tornado battalion, Hail battalion, etc.) This is the largest division of the Band's…

This phase is the march from the exit point of Travel to the outskirts of Tanchico. There is no real RP to cover this period of time (about 2 months, IC). Rather, it is an opportunity for all of us to do character-building RPs, be it training, making friends/enemies within the Band, or getting into trouble. I will be writing RPs to occasionally point out approximately where we're at. Also, for all the moldy oldies out there, I will be bringing in some muscle to help train in combat and tactics. You know him, you (probably don't) love him.

My new Bander, Tevares is in need of some training. His meager WS of 2 will not suffice for a member of the Band. Would like to get him to at least a WS of 6 or 7 throughout the course of the DotNM's RP. If there are no Calvary present then anyone else wish to train my newb in weapons (he carries lance, 1h sword, and horsebow), battle formation and tactics, or the like? An infantryman could train him in sword and an archer in the bow perhaps if any are available?

Just a random thought. Characters have some sort of influential being or concept when they're written. I'm just curious who it was for all of you. Jehryn was inspired by my previous Bander, Mehrin. Mehrin was all that was man, and all that was warrior. He rose through the ranks and became Commander of the Band. As a commander, though, characters are stuck, essentially. In order to correct this, I had Mehrin leave the Band to the Freelanders. In his place, I created another character, but one that would not end up the same way as Mehrin did.
