Alrighty, I'm ready to forge ahead with Rochel again. So I need someone to work with me on the 100 weaves shtuff. Anyone willing to put up with the headache of teaching 100 useless weaves to an accepted who doesn't like uselessness? Myst and I were chatting about getting our Aes Sedai together. The premise of the meeting is this: Lor (that's me) is hunting information about the animals Kyn (her warder) is reporting having seen with the Seanchan. She's taking these descriptions to the library to see what she can find there. She meets Carima (Myst) who has just been raised and is working a shift in the library. Hi! I have a shiny new novice Evaline who was approved before I went LOA, and is now hanging in limbo. I think it's about time I launched her. Anyway, I was hoping there was an Aes Sedai out there somewhere who would be willing to find her and take her to the tower. Do elements of the real world make it into your RP? As you might know, RJ based many of the cultures of Randland on real life cultures. Do you use the same inspiration when you write? Turns of phrase, event that happen to you, even everyday objects (I've seen ter'angreal that are analogues for video cameras, electric guitars, and plastic air fresheners!). Think about what you see around you next time you are stuck and maybe it will inspire you! What real life things do YOU use in your RP?

No, I don't mean other WoT or even other post-based roleplay sites....I want to know if any of you do any other RP Gaming that uses different methods than the post-based we do here? Do you RP in a chat client with others? I remember back in the day when the #malkavians channel in IRC was hoppin with that type of RP. What about table-top gaming? I consider that a kind of RP, as you are playing somewhat in character during the course of the game session. Several MMORPGS that aren't necessarily RP-geared themselves (like World of Warcraft) offer servers you can play on where everybody RPs. I haven't tried one of these servers myself, but I always thought it…

Obviously we RPers are all inspired to one extent or another by the WoT books, but what other books have had elements creep into your RP? I'm personally a fan of the GRRM Ice & Fire books, and also Ursula Le'Guin makes it into my writing a lot sometimes too.

Esteemed Denizens of the Illustrious White Tower, ;) I would like to introduce you all to the blacksmithing Tower Guard, Anwashawn Ellasser. It occurred to me recently that in the ~four years or so that he's been at the Tower he has only met two Aes Sedai in rps, one of whom is no longer playing here. This is an interesting way to develop your character's personality better. Does your soldier like a good romance novel? Perhaps your character is illiterate? Consider developing an RP arc where they are taught to read by another.

I sent my bio to the freecastle email address some time ago and I haven't gotten a reply, and I haven't seen the bio posted on the bio's board. Have I sent it to the wrong place? Did it even get there? Was something wrong with it? I'd really like to know so I can start doing stuff on here. Any help would be great.

Ladies of the White Tower, you ever wonder what weaves you can preform with your skill and elemental values? I know alot of people really don't care what they can do, but here is a tool that will visually let you know which weaves your character is capable of. The tool also checks your OP elemental value score to make sure you've allocated your points correctly. My One Power Weaves Matalina

Is your character facing any major changes about their life (relationship, occupational, living situation, education, etc) right now? If not, does your character want to make a change in any of those areas? Have you RPed any of the transition that your character will go through during this change? The last transition RP I remember doing is Gianna (my Blue) coming out of a major depression following her failure at her arches (1st & 2nd tries). I'm looking forward to another one during the Bowl of the Winds plot arc, as Cetaile my Gray discovers she is NOT a Windfinder, she is Aes Sedai, and to continue holding on to what cannot be is pointless.

Hello!, I've been browsing over the RP boards, and initially I wanted to start an RP thread that involved a common soldier. Perhaps Saldean. I was going to post on the 'North' board and have the thread start by having my character be the last surviving member of a patrol that was attacked by some trollocs. I know I'm new, so I was going to have be the characters first battle, and he'd be wounded severely, though not past recovering his full strength. October RPs, anyone? I was away for half the month on LoA, but is there anyone actually rping their gray besides me at the moment? I'm starting to feel lonely ;). This one is doubly appropriate (those who have read TGS will know why!) As tough as it sounds, you actually CAN RP out your character's death ahead of time. We do retro RPs all the time, so why not try a future RP? It's like a blank check you write to yourself; to actually RP your character's death ahead of time, but never specify WHEN it's going to happen. http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,5856.0.html is where I did this exact thing with my Brown, Claire.
