Now that she had actually decided it would be in her best interest to take Corin along with Saline and herself on their mission to the blight, Lavinya was stuck as to how best approach the subject. If he wasn't so consistently prickly and moody it would be a simple task, probably even pleasant, but he seemed to have made it his life's purpose to irritate her. Light, how successful he was proving on that point. It frustrated her that she was so uncertain on almost every point with Corin. She did not truly know how to heal him, and certainly was no closer to broaching the subject of Elise than she had ever been. She barely even knew how to approach him without getting burne…

Thera was sitting on the floor in the middle of her bedroom getting in a last game of dolls with Lyss before she had to go. She’d tried to interest the child in any number of toy weapons or music, but for now she was content with her small wooden bunny from Jasine and her plethora of dolls. “Well now my little bunny.” A nickname the child had gained in the last weeks. “I have to go, just like we talked about remember? But I will be back.” A pout painted her angelic face, but despite the tugging at her heart Thera only smiled and kissed the top of her head. “None of that now my little princess. I know how much you love your Marria.” Kissing her curls one last time T…

Leaving her quarters Jaydena headed toward the Green Ajah Practice field, she was on her way to teach a battle weaves class, something she felt she had done so many times she could do blindfolded. Though it never paid to get to arrogant with the use of the Power. Walking down the back steps she made her way through the maze that led to the practice field for the greens, a large field enclosed on all sides with a 15 foot, 5 foot thick stone wall, she opened the gate and stepped into the area. She looked around to make sure she was alone in the area and stood still for a moment, enjoying the early morning light, the smell of the dew on the grass. She listened to the trees o…

I have not been that active over the last couple of weeks, and that is because I have just been laid off and have been putting all of my energies into job hunting, and until I actually secure employment I will be taking care of my two girls at home. So needless to say I have have to officially put my participation in some things on hold for now, but I can still be reached via PM or e-mail.

Edana narrowed her eyes as the landscape showed her a banner flying in the breeze just ahead and to her right. The directions she’d received at the last post told her she’d see it, of course, but they hadn’t told her what was on it. “Sandre,” she breathed, seeing his family crest blazing in the fading light. The lion and the anvil, a sea of inky black silk and a red edge that drew the eye inward. The Kaldun crest. The directions said that the road would curve and she needed to follow it. It wasn’t but a few more miles from this curve, she’d been assured, but she found her horse pulling to a stop as the road bended so she could stare at the house. Dante’s words floa…

"Now, if you would just channel Spirit into this. I'm absolutely sure that if you channel just a small thread of it..." Serena stared back at the tall, dark haired man in confusion and disbelief. "You cannot be serious. I can't just channel into something I have no idea what it's for." The man's black coat and breeches hardly creased when he crossed his arms. His dark brown eyes held the intensity of a flame. He did not need to speak for Serena to feel his disappointment, the bond reeked of it. Arath could toy with her emotions in ways she had never known a bond could be manipulated. "I-I don't want to. It could kill us both, Arath." His eyes burned with frustration, and …

Alrighty, so I've pretty much got a month in which I am expected to finish three exams and find a job. This leaves me with WAAAAAAAY too much time on my hands so I'm running a class. I'm afraid the class is only open to Accepted since Estel will be having the students putting their developing skills to the test. Any takers?

Lesson 3: The Art of Disguise Despite the reasonably neutral expression on her face, Estel’s mood was black. Jaw muscles practically groaned with the effort of internalising yawns and powder hid dark bags under her eyes. It was immature for an Aes Sedai to resent mornings, especially to the point of allowing it to affect her mood; however, it was a scrap of her Acceptedhood that she clung to. Now, Estel Liones was the least favourite member of her Ajah, a jaded shell of a woman. Longingly she remembered being a raging ball of fire at her pupils’ age; it had taken an Aes Sedai nearly physically yanking her from bed in the mornings to wake her up before the sun was…

So upon making Nakor's return happen at the big meeting where Covai announces the new leadership and since that thread is still ongoing I was under the impression that it would be difficult to join other threads and I've been struggling to brainstorm ideas for starting threads...... but then I noticed that several of the threads on the first page of the board seem to be set after the recent string of deaths/promotions/changes. so, I was wondering if I could join in on these? Specifically right now (unless I find some others I'm interested in as well) I was wondering if this thread, "Battle Tactics" was still open for people to join?

Eladari had been making rather slow progress for the past few days. As she made her slow way North from Cairhien she had been quite introspective, and had kept mostly to herself, avoiding villages and houses along her route. Eventually the great spire of Dragonmount rose before her, a familiar and yet somewhat unfamiliar sight. She had not seen that great mountain for many long years. She had ventured near, heading North to the Blight. And of course she had seen other mountains, having gone right into the Spine of the World. But Dragonmount had always made her catch her breath. Its majesty as it rose out of the plains around Tar Valon could never be surpassed…

As an incentive to get people to RP more, we have revamped the requirements for earning bonus strength points for the Asha'man. You will now be able to earn 'buy points' from different sources upon reaching Dedicated rank (you will only be able to spend them as an Asha'man though). There are a total of 3 STR points available for everyone who meets requirements. Listed below are the ways in which you can earn them. -Mentoring a Soldier up to Dedicated rank, participating in at least half of his RP's. (1 bp) -Mentoring a Dedicated up to Asha'man rank, paricipating in at least half of his RP's. (1 bp) -Significant activity in an approved interdiv R…

Hey all, not sure if anyone here will remember me at all but I'm returning from a 2.5 year hiatus and bringing back my black coat, a Dedicated by the name of Nakor Zorrander. Bio is found here: http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,45853.0.html Just thought I'd pop in and say hey and see if anyone was around that remembers me from when I left.

It was now or never. Actually that wasn’t true at all, but it sounded suitably dramatic. Something this monumental should have dramatics. Though it was only monumental to Lavinya, really. The big return to the White Tower. Home. She had wanted nothing more than to go home for more than a year, and yet here she stood, preparing to open a gateway and take the final steps home, and she couldn’t bring herself to do it. There had been peace of sorts here; away from other Aes Sedai, away from her troubles, away from her darkest fears. Away from the one she had to face eventually but was afraid to. Always always, it came back to Corin Danveer. Lavinya shook her head, causi…

Vanion was making his way back to the Yard from his trip to the infirmary. He'd had a run in with a Warder, who he found out was named Kynwric. A dislocated shoulder, a few bruised ribs and a bruised larynx had left him feeling spiritually defeated. He'd thought better of his skills with a sword... and he hadn't even been blindfolded for their sparring match! Leaning against the wall and sighing deeply, he tightened the black scarf tied around his eyes, making sure it was secure. Taking hold of his sheathed katana once more, he stepped through an archway and into the Warders Yard. The sounds of the other trainees hard at work washed over him virtually unheard. His mi…

OOC: This is a flow on from http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,44492.0.html. Except this stage its now open to everybody. All anybody knows at the moment is that you've all been called together at the assembly grounds. Covai left his quarters with Arath and the two new Attack Leaders following him. Waeyl and Haykes had left a few minutes before and would be waiting for them at the assembly ground. Running his hand through his hair as they walked down the corridor, Covai starting going through everything in his mind from the start. Today's gathering would not be easy. Light he wished Jarron was still around. The damn Ta'veren effect was exactly what he nee…

OOC: this is a bastardisation of Telcia/Espara original "Intro to Daes Dae'mar" class. Information for the game of chop was taken from the second chapter of Jordan's Shadow Rising book. IC: Lesson 1: Intro to The Great Game The Wheel had a cruel sense of humour. Actually, it could have been nudging from any one of a half-dozen Aes Sedai in the Tower that gave the Mistress of Novices the insane notion of asking Estel bloody Liones to teach a class of Accepted the use of Daes Dae’mar – of course the request had been phrased in such a manner that refusal would incur the wrath of the humoured Aes Sedai. Hell, it could just be the new Mistress of Novices,…

hello everybody, I'm back! Yes I know, hardly any of you here now will remember me since I've been gone for about two and a half years, but I'm back now and decided the first character I'd resurrect would be Burrich, also known as Mountain Fury. I'm anxious to rp with all of you and get to know you. The updated bio should be posted soon and I'll add a link here to it when it is but I thought I'd take this opportunity to tell you what you'll be getting with his return: Burrich is a GIANT, by far the largest human any of you have ever seen ic. His companion Storm hunter is the largest wolf in or around the Stedding. Burrich fights with a double-bladed…

He only heard of how big Tar Valon, but actually being there was a whole different story. The White Tower was one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen in his life. Making his way through the crowded streets, Lone's heart was pounding with the sheer excitement of finally getting a chance to fulfill was dream of becoming a Warder. Crossing the final bridge, he made his way through the archway into what appeared to be the training grounds. Lone dismounted off of his midnight black stallion, Sentell, and walked him over to the stables to be cared for while he looked around. Flipping the stable hand a silver, he walk off towards the dueling ring to watch a pair …

Edana was stiff as she rolled out of bed. She stretched a few times, but knew there was no way she could shake the ache she was dealing with. She wasn’t sleeping well and yesterday, she’d found out why. Sandre hadn’t just left that night. He’d left her for good that night. The Captain wouldn’t tell her where he was, only that he was on Tower business. He wouldn’t have had plans to leave and not have told her about them. No, he’d have thrown that in her face, too, just like the last time he’d left. So, he’d left because he couldn’t stand to be near her. It was the only explanation. That didn’t lend itself to peaceful dreams. She had training and then duty this af…

So I wondered, we often have special Inns, stores, etc that we use in rps, once we settle on a name, we might use it more than once, for instance there was a Inn called the Purple Ajah Inn that I have used several times in rps I have done. Do you have anything like that?

Right gang, on to the next lesson. Weapons training will be starting on Monday next week. Each Wolfkin has 3 weapon slots. Your weapons to choose from are sword, bow and dagger. You can pick one as your primary weapon, one as your secondary and one as your last. Depending on what you choose as your primary weapon, there will either be a group class or individual classes. So please post here with what you want that to be as soon as possible. :) For Wanderers still doing their Pick Ups or Sage check ups, you can take part as well and pretend you've already arrived if you're comfortable with retro-ing your arrival. Any questions, catch myself, Owen or…

Karadar walked brazenly into the street in the outer district of Tear. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see people pointing at him and whispering to each other. He was fairly certain he even saw a few running for the guard barracks. Considering all his years as a blacksmith in this city it was ludicrous to think that he wouldn’t be recognized by someone on the streets, but he really didn’t care at this moment. All that mattered to him was the building a few blocks in front of him. It was once a non-descript building, but now the Dragon’s Tooth mark on the outside made it impossible to mistake. It was a place of madness to the average citizen of Tear. It was the hom…

Hello Lovelies, I (think) I am ready to return. My life isn't always steady and smooth, but whose really is? At the moment, I'm working and taking care of a beautiful 18 month old boy. School will be coming again in the fall, but I plan on taking a light load. So..what do you say? Can I bring Serena back? I know that I need to write out a current bio and everything, but I will only do so if you would like to see her around the Tower again. I have also written up a new bio for a novice, and I cannot remember if I introduced her here, or not. Her name is NDaye Kishar, and she is a joy *giggles*. Let me know. I really miss writing, and all of you. *hugs* …

Laying out her gear on the bed Thera methodically went over her mental check list. She was always careful when taking trainees out on a survival class, but this trip was even more crucial. Mistakes climbing a mountain were far different than mistakes that were made when trying to pick a camp site, or light a fire. Satisfied that she had everything she would need she began packing her saddle bags and a wicker panniers she’d had brought to the small house she and Jasine shared. The trainees were in charge of packing their own belongings, gear, and food. Since many of them were newer recruits she compiled a complete list of everything they would need, except the most o…
