Hey! I'm TwinStorm (Stormy) and a huge fan of the Wheel of Time! I have a lot of thoughts and opinions on the books, and what they could do better, and dislike the series, though I appreciate it for what it's worth. I'm also a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson (find me on the 17th Shard as TwinStorm, and say hi) and Tolkien, but consider the Wheel of Time to be the best of any modern fantasy series, and have strong beliefs that AMOL is the best series ending I've ever read.

  4. Started by Alliiara,

Hello, I am not exactly new. I am a lost soul that recently found her way back. I recently finally got around to getting the Wheel of Time series off my TBR list and I am currently on the Lord of Chaos.

  5. Hello Dragonmount. Feels good to walk your streets once again though so much is different. You really can’t go home again. I’m Millon. I was active here well over ten years ago. I did pop back in from time to time to see how things were but I never really stuck it out. Too busy “looking for home” instead of trying to see what’s here now. “Hey! What went into the old Blockbuster Rental over on fifth? Oh. A Spirit of Halloween. Makes sense….” I was mostly in the White Tower Social Group though I was in The Band, Black Tower and Kin. Not a whole lot though aside from the Tower. I’ve only ever read the entire series at length once believe it or not. …

  6. Hi all! I had been wanting to read The Wheel of Time for years - since I was a teenager - and I decided to finally get to it at the grand old age of 30. I wish I had indeed read it back when I was a teenager and had the chance to be part of all the discussions and speculations and the wait for each book to come out but hey, I guess the most important thing in the end is experiencing the vast and rich world of the books. I'm currently on chapter 42 of The Eye of the World and excited to finish it soon and move on to The Great Hunt. Thanks for having me! Alyssa x

  7. Hi, folks! Soooo… I’ve never joined a group like this or posted on this kinda forum. I’m just tryna find my fellow nerds and talk about some cool lit. What should I do next?? Water and Shade!

  8. Started by Aarenis,

Hello there! I feel like I saw Dragonmount a couple years back, but I'd already left my WoT superfan days behind mostly so I wasn't terribly keen on making an account. I guess things aligned, so here I am now! 😃

  9. Started by Donchadh,

Long time WoT book fan. And now looking forward to the start of Amazon Season 3. Another turning of the Wheel!!

  10. Started by Andy MacLeod,

Hello! I have been a fan of WoT for years and just asked to enter my name in the Novice Book! Glad to join you all 😀

  11. Started by Catt Wiltz,

I am Catt. I started reading WoT back during fall of 2004, and received the rest of the entire series at that point for Christmas that year. So as of this year, 2024, I've been reading WoT for the entirety of my adult life. I decided to finally take the plunge here on Dragonmount after hearing about it for most of that time in passing. Professionally, I am an end of life social worker. For my hobbies I enjoy historical costuming and pretty much anything experimental archaeology in the fiber arts field. I also have recently entered the world of academia writing and have published some articles and have others in the works. I used to do archaeol…

Heya. The name's Aerynth, and I'm a geeky 22-year-old female currently residing in the humid and hot state of Louisiana, working in the casino business as a blackjack/mini-bac/various other table games dealer. I enjoy World of Warcraft, anything fantasy, books, writing, art, card games, languages, and a plethora of other things, mostly silly and meaningless time dumps. Personality-wise, I can be a little snarky and sarcastic, but am generally a nice and friendly person. I'm opinionated and sometimes present my opinions in a blunt, in-your-face manner that offend people quickly, although it's never my intention. I enjoy intelligent discussion, but can be quite a goofb…

omg I just saw a blue heron in the woods, but they are cutting them down now! It reminded me of the first time I read the eye of the world, and I was like HELLPPPP!!!!! It was in the Fullersburg woods in Oakbrook Terrace, Illionois!

  18. Hi, y'all! Do you want to know what you'd look like as... an Aiel, for instance? Or a Warder? Seafolk? Aes Sedai? The Ajah who does not exist? Yo' Mama can help with that 😉 You can head on over to this thread at the Creations Forum or if you're daring enough, this one at the White Tower and Warriors to find out how it's done.

Hi all, I started reading the books what feels like about 20 years ago but for whatever reason didn’t get past about book 8 or so (it may have been later!) I think i had maybe caught up and there was a gap in publication and I just missed the next one and then well, life! With the show starting I got back into the books via audible (I can’t read a lot now due to health reasons) and it’s taken me what feel like an age but today I just finished the last book and am a bit speechless. I have stayed away from forums as I didn’t want spoilers, but now need to talk! I have read a fair bit of other fantasy, in particular Tolkien, Raymond E Fei…

  23. Started by Sarah Smith,

Hi all, 'New' here, but not new to the books. Started reading when only 8 were in print, read 1-5 several times, 6-9 twice and 10+ once. Started reading them again, currently on book 2 and Rand has literally just retrieved the Horn from Fain's camp, he's just got back to Selene and Hurin. I remember the story, so this time I'm focussing on the small details - character development and the smaller bits you don't 'see' when you're reading for the first time. It's also about 15 years since I read the first few books.

I am an avid reader and a writer (sometimes) . I feel excited reading other people's stories and getting inspiration from them. Whether it's getting lost in the pages of a gripping mystery or exploring the realms of fantasy, I find solace and excitement between the covers of a good book. Looking forward to exchanging recommendations, discussing plot twists, and perhaps uncovering hidden gems that have slipped under the radar. Feel free to drop your favorite book or genre below—I'm always on the lookout for my next literary adventure.

  25. Started by Seryse ni Cousland,

Hi! I'm here because Arie invited me to come roleplay. It's been a long time since I've gotten into creative writing and I'm excited to see where this goes. You may recognize me. Yes, same Seryse, just a different place. 🙂

Greetings to one and all! I, just like everyone here, am a fantasy enthusiast. I am also a PhD research scholar working on mythopoeia- Tolkien, to be specific. Well, I was at least. And then I chanced upon Jordan's The Wheel of Time. Will probably have to adjust my work to fit in Jordan now... When the trailer to the Amazon series came out in 2021 amid reports of their attempt to counter HBO's The Game of Thrones, I was very sceptical of the narrative and didn't really find it engrossing enough. In my mind, none could surpass Tolkien's work. A week back, when I came across a WoT reference, I finally took a dive into Jordan's world and to say that I was mistaken …

Hi all. Been well over 10 years since I last posted or even signed in here. It's been a long time as I had my own little dragons to raise up. Guess I've got a lot of catching up to do. See you all out there 🤪

  28. Just wanted to say hi! I think I joined this site approximately 16 years ago now, holy cow! I've lurked and perused but never really participated but with all the new folk stopping by I figured why not? Maybe this is a new turning and in this age I do better.

  30. Hi everyone! I finally got round to joining the forums, after realising I had some new questions about the books upon listening to them for the first time on audiobook. I first read the books way back in the 90s, and have reread most of them a few times, with the exception of aMoL, and maybe one of the other Sanderson ones. Before moving on to the other parts of the forum, I realise I already have a question to ask here - is there no way to preview my post before posting? I only see a button for "submit topic", but maybe I'm missing something?
